The best way to get rid of someone who’s pulling you under is to let yourself sink…

John
The last thing I need is to be saddled with the on-the-run niece of the crime family I’m about to take down. Gianna Silva wants me to help her find her missing mother. But I’ve got bigger fish to fry—namely, her cousins Stefano and Santos Silva. They’re flooding the West Coast with deadly counterfeit goods, and I’m about to drop the net on their entire operation. To keep Gianna out of my way, I’ve agreed to help her but under one condition: What I say goes. No questions. No pushback. I make the rules.

The problem is Gianna Silva doesn’t know the meaning of the word “rule” and she’s on to me. For two years, I’ve hidden my true identity behind a wall built from stone-cold revenge. I thought it was indestructible—especially against someone with the last name of Silva—the family I’ve vowed to destroy…

Gianna
If I could find my missing mom by myself I would, but the only enemies she’s ever had are my father and his powerful family. Confronting the Silvas alone is too dangerous. I need an insider who knows how to play their game. John Rossi, with his bad-boy confidence and access to the family compound is my best hope. I’ve bargained away the last dollar in my savings account in exchange for his help, but I’m beginning to think I made a deal with the devil.

I didn’t expect his rules to include sharing a cabin—and a bedroom with him—northwest of Nowheresville. I don’t trust him, or my attraction to him. But to find my mom, I’ll break every one of his damn rules, regardless of the consequences…

Note: This book may be unsuitable for people under 17 years of age due to its use of sexual content, drug and alcohol use, and/or violence.

  1. Describe Bottom of the Sky in a tweet.

The last thing I need is to be saddled with the on-the-run niece of the crime family I’m about to take down. Gianna Silva wants me to help find her missing mother. But I’ve got bigger fish to fry—namely, her cousins Stefano and Santos Silva. I’m about to drop the net on the ring of counterfeiters.

  1. Which of your characters has been the most challenging for you to write? Which has been the most fun?

Answer:  John Rossi, my “Bottom of the Sky” alpha has been the most challenging. He’s more deeply damaged than my other Alphas so balancing his outward persona with his inner being took a lot of fore thought. Most fun? JACE!  Jace was my heroine’s best friend in “Rush”. She has no fear, no filter and a ‘no-regrets’ kind of attitude—yet she’s smart, inherently sweet and loyal. My first draft of “Rush” had a Jace scene that I LOVED but my editors were a little worried it was too much—they were probably right and I did cut the scene but I had so many readers shout out their love for Jace, I’m still curious how they would have reacted to that scene…

  1. What is something we would be surprised to learn about you?

Answer:  Hmmmm, well about a week before my deadline for “Bottom of the Sky” I ended up in the hospital with Bells Palsey, which I knew nothing about and have never experienced. I had stroke like symptoms—my right eye wouldn’t blink and my mouth went crooked. Most people make a full recovery and I’m almost straightened out now but seriously, not fun. My thirteen year old son had these words of encouragement, “Don’t worry mom, we’ve all had those days when we look like a bad Picasso painting.” Thanks honey. I feel better now.

  1. What do you do when you have writer’s block?

Answer: This probably sounds obnoxious but I have yet to experience writer’s block. What I do constantly struggle with is taming the beast of my imagination that wants to keep spinning new plot threads. Three fourths of the way through a 90,000 word book is not a good time to start flirting with a hot new side character who appears out of nowhere—even if he is wearing nothing but fireman pants and needs to borrow a hose—see what I mean?

  1. If we looked under your bed right now, what would we find?

Answer: This makes me laugh—and seem slightly coo-coo. Under my bed right now is a Five Nights At Freddy’s FUNKO action figure. I had gotten it as a Christmas gift for my son but yanked it from his pile when I realized I had an uneven number of gifts for my three kids. Also, a smattering of dusty vintage romance novels, my very first favorites; “Whitney My Love,” by Judith McNaught, “So Speaks The Heart,” by JoHanna Lindsey and “So Worthy My Love,” Kathleen Woodwiss.

  1. What is the best part of writing a romantic suspense novel?

Answer:  I really enjoyed stepping beyond the sweetness tone of my previous books. I think it gave me a chance to layer my character’s a bit more. I did realize though that my natural instinct is to write sweet characters so it required more concentration on my part.
