{Review+Giveaway} Witches Protection Program by Michael Okon

{Review+Giveaway} Witches Protection Program by Michael Okon

Witches Protection Program  is paranormal novel by Michael Okon. It is the first book I have read by this author, and I have to say it was so funny- I know it will not be the last book I read from him. Witches Protection Program was a quick read that was a ton of fun. Fans of paranormal books and fans of witty dialogue will love this witchy adventure. In Witches Protection Program we meet Wes, who is a cop. But Wes has messed up at the job one too many times. And after his last mess up, he is reassigned to what he is sure is a joke. Wes gets reassigned to the Witches Protection Program, and I loved that he didn’t even know it existed. I figured that witch cops would be the ones heading up the program and not cops who have no idea that witches even exist. That being said, I did like that Wes had a healthy dose of skepticism about him. It took some… Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} The Orchid Throne by @JeffeKennedy @SMPRomance @heroesnhearts

{Review+Giveaway} The Orchid Throne by @JeffeKennedy @SMPRomance @heroesnhearts

The Orchid Throne  is the first book in the Forgotten Empires series by Jeffe Kennedy. The Forgotten Empire series is a fantasy series and the first book, The Orchid Throne totally knocked my socks off. I loved this book so much! And the romance…oh the romance. The Orchid Throne was everything that I look for in great fantasy romances. This marks the second 5 star read of mine on the blog this week, which is huge for me! I don’t give out 5 stars too often, and hardly ever to two books in a row. But both The Orchid Throne and Shadow Frost have topped my best of the best in 2019. If you are a fan of fantasy reads, The Orchid Throne needs to be on your TBR list. In the Orchid Throne we meet our main character, Queen Euthalia, or Lia for short. I love reading a story from the perspective of a Queen, and Lia is a fantastic character. She is witty and fiercely protective of her… Read more »

{ARC Review+Giveaway} Shadow Frost by Coco Ma

{ARC Review+Giveaway} Shadow Frost by Coco Ma

Shadow Frost is a young adult fantasy by Coco Ma. I am so excited that this is the first book in the Shadow Frost series because I loved Shadow Frost and I can’t wait for more. This is a pretty hefty book, with the advanced readers copy clocking in at over 400 pages. I have to say, I loved every page of this book and I kept hoping it was even longer. I can’t even believe that the author wrote this novel when she was only 15! There were so many things that I loved about this book, so let’s jump right in. In Shadow Frost we meet Princess Asterin, who is spunky as all get out and a total riot. I loved her and her feisty spirit. Asterin decides that she needs to go off demon hunting to help her land and people. Which means, we as readers are off on a quest, and you all know that is my favorite type of plotline in a fantasy book. It… Read more »

{Review} Brayden’s Darkness by S.L. Abbott

{Review} Brayden’s Darkness by S.L. Abbott

Brayden’s Darkness is the first book in the young adult Darkness Series by S.L. Abbott. This is the first book I have read from author S.L. Abbott and I have to say I was digging the way the book got progressively darker as it went on. By the end, I was totally surprised by the direction the story had taken. In a good way! The darkness series looks like it previously had different covers, but in 2019 it got a cover redo, and the new cover is beyond beautiful! This book has a very mysterious vibe going on, that coupled with fae magic, ancient lore, and a romance, and you have a ya fantasy lovers dream. I really enjoyed this one, and with the book ending the way it did, I am even more excited to continue on with the series. Brayden’s Darkness is the story about Evren, our main character. She lives in a small town and she has always kept to herself. But one night, at the start… Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} Lycan’s Blood Queen by Catherine Edward

{Review+Giveaway} Lycan’s Blood Queen by Catherine Edward

Lycan’s Blood Queen is the first in the adult paranormal romance duology called the Randolph Duology, by Catherine Edward. I was very intrigued by the summary of this book, and I love books that feature more than one kind of creature because I really enjoy reading about different authors takes on paranormal creatures. The Randolph Duology features Lycans, Vampires and Witches. A classic mix, but we get to see a twist on one of the creatures which I really enjoyed. Lycan’s Blood Queen had a bit of a rocky start. I was confused when I first started reading. I didn’t know what was going on and I wasn’t getting to know any of the characters very well. Honestly, I almost put the book down and went to try something else. But I decided to keep reading to see if the pieces came together for me, and I am very glad that I did. I ended up really enjoying Lycan’s Blood Queen, and I am certainly very interested in reading the… Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} No More Bad Dates by Kate O’Keeffe

{Review+Giveaway} No More Bad Dates by Kate O’Keeffe

No More Bad Dates is an adult contemporary romantic comedy by Kate O’Keeffe. It is the first book in the high tea series, which is taglined as a cozy cottage cafe story. I am unsure at the moment if all of the books in the series will be standalones or if you will need to read them in order. If I had to guess, I would think they are will be set in the same world, but will all act as standalone cozy romances. I have to say I don’t love the cover because it reminds me too much of Barbie, but I do love the story setup. In No More Bad Dates we meet our main character Sophie, who gets dumped at a wedding by a royal jerk. Because, seriously…who does that??! Oh don’t worry, he had a great reason. Because Sophie has been burned one too many times, she decides to have her friends help her pick out guys to date before she dates them. This is an… Read more »

{Excerpt+Giveaway} Shadow Caster by Debbie Cassidy

{Excerpt+Giveaway} Shadow Caster by Debbie Cassidy

Shadow Caster Debbie Cassidy (The Nightwatch Academy #1) Publication date: September 10th 2019 Genres: New Adult, Romance, Urban Fantasy Murdering humans is a huge no-no and comes with an off-with-your-head sentence. Doesn’t matter if you don’t remember doing the crime. I killed a human, and no, it wasn’t on purpose, but that shit doesn’t matter to the council. I’m facing death. So, when I’m offered a deal to avoid execution, I’d be a fool not to take it, even if it means leaving the human world and urban life behind to enroll in the Nightwatch Academy – a gothic monstrosity hidden from human eyes, located way too close to the largest tear in the fabric of our reality. It would be fun if I had any inclination of becoming a member of the Watch or supporting the shadow knights at keeping the Formorian threat at bay. But heck, the monsters beyond the mist aren’t my problem. I have personal demons to deal with. Once I’m out, the Watch can shove… Read more »
