Book Briefs Stats:
What format do I accept?
What Will I read?
I read all YA and New Adult books for the most part, but do read some Adult Paranormal and contemporary Romance as well as some adult Chicklit, Romance and Mystery/Suspense. My favorite genres of YA/NA books
- Fantasy (a favorite!)
- Paranormal Romance
- Mythology (this is my favorite!)
- Dystopian
- Urban Fantasy
- Mystery
- Contemporary (another favorite)
- but I am willing to read other genres if the book interests me. (and most of the time if a romance is included, they will)
All of my reviews are posted here, on my blog, as well as on Goodreads and amazon.
*a note about book series: I will read a book in the middle of the series, but will request that previous books in the series also be provided to me. (even if they can be read as standalones) I prefer to read books in order.
My Rating System
I reserve the right to give my honest opinion on all books that I review. That being said, I enjoy most of the books I choose to read. Reading is fun for me, so I write my reviews on the way the books make me feel. 3 stars and up mean that I enjoyed the book. Sometimes a 3 or 4 star review won’t necessarily say why I “deducted” stars. My reviews are very subjective, and a lower star normally just means I enjoyed the book a little less than books of a higher rating. If something specific didn’t work for me, I will point that out in my review.
In my reviews, I include my impressions of the plot and characters and parts of the book that I especially enjoyed, as well as my overall feelings on the book or series as a whole. I am a character driven reader, so I need to be able to connect with the characters to enjoy the story.
When can you expect your review?
Due to the amount of books I receive for review consideration and to real life commitments (I have a full time job!) I cannot guarantee that a review will be posted in a certain amount of time/ or by a certain time. Blog tour commitments will go up on the date scheduled, but all other dates or time frames given for reviews are subject to change at my discretion.
Thank you for visiting Book Briefs and considering me to review your book!
*A note about blog tours:* If I am chosen to host a blog tour, that means the tour company has agreed to MY review policy. If I rate a book 3 stars or above that means I enjoyed it and I will post it on my review tour date. All of my reviews are honest, regardless of if it is a tour review or a personal review. If I am going to rate the book 1 or 2 stars I will hold my review until after the tour has ended, and it will be my discretion if/when the review is posted**

Please let me know if you can review my books, The Tin Box Secret and The Hope Chest. Thank you. Theresa Dodaro
Hi, Michelle. I filled out your review form and it said my request was submitted successfully but that there was a problem uploading my image. My cover file was a JPEG but maybe it was too large? Not sure why it didn’t upload. But I have other sizes so I can send another. Just let me know what size you need and where to send it.
I got the same message – however the first time I submitted a PDF of the galleys, so – my mistake. In my second attempt I attached a JPG of the cover, and again, “There was an error uploading your image.”
Hopefully my request went through. Very appreciative.
Sometimes images are too large to upload to the site directly. If you are still having an issue. Feel free to email me your request 🙂 michelle.bookbriefs AT gmail DOT com
Yay! That’s very helpful – and generous! Thank you!
