{Review+Giveaway} Blood Rose Rebellion by @RosalynEves @KnopfBFYR ‏@TheNovl

{Review+Giveaway} Blood Rose Rebellion by @RosalynEves @KnopfBFYR ‏@TheNovl

Blood Rose Rebellion is the first book in the young adult fantasy series by the same name. It is also author Rosalyn Eves debut novel, which really impressed me. Blood Rose Rebellion was an excellent read for me, and I can’t wait to journey back into this crazy world. I loved the fantasy elements a little more than the romance elements but I have a feeling book two will change my mind. I think this is a romance that is going to get better and better with each book, now that the foundation has been laid for the characters and the story. Blood Rose Rebellion tells the story of young Anna. Anna is a member of a high class Luminate family. Luminate meaning they are the wielders of magic in this world. Only Anna is barren, she can’t wield magic. But she does seem to mess up people’s spells when she is around. I loved this premise. I found it to be a breath of fresh air from the norm of magic… Read more »

{ARC Review} FIGHTING FOR LOVE by Kelly Elliott @author_kelly @ReadLoveswept

{ARC Review} FIGHTING FOR LOVE by Kelly Elliott @author_kelly @ReadLoveswept

Fighting for Love is the second book in the contemporary romance series, called Boston Love by Kelly Elliott. Each of the books can be read as standalones. Fighting For Love is my first book in the series, and I had no problem following and enjoying the story. If you like fun and relatively low drama romances, Fighting For Love is a great book for you to check out. I really liked this one, and I can’t wait to read more from Kelly Elliott. This was the perfect feel good read. Fighting For Love is the story of Rory and Finn. Finn is a firefighter and Rory is a law school graduate hoping to make her way as a new lawyer. (so it was really easy for me to put myself in her shoes…I wonder why. And also, does that mean I get to keep Finn for myself?? Please say yes Kelly!) Finn and Rory and such a great match, and  what I loved most about them was how genuine they… Read more »

{Review+Teasers+ Giveaway} The Opposite of You by Rachel Higginson @Mywritesdntbite

{Review+Teasers+ Giveaway} The Opposite of You by Rachel Higginson @Mywritesdntbite

The Opposite of You  is the first book in the adult contemporary romance Opposites Attract  series by Rachel Higginson. I flippin’ LOVED this book. It is about time I had a 5 star contemporary read and this one earned every bit of those 5 stars. It is so excellent that I want to pick it up and read it again…immediately. You know when you love a book so much you immediately want to read other books like it? Well, The Opposite of You did that to me. I am now craving a great fight/bantering dynamic, so leave me your best new adult/adult recs below. The Opposite of You is told entirely from Vera’s point of view. Vera is a trained culinary chef, a very talented one at that, but because of a troubled past she doesn’t feel like she will ever be able to have her own kitchen. So she opens up Foodie the food truck to start her dream of doing upscale comfort food. I totally want Foodie to be real… Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} Hear the Wolves by Victoria Scott @AuthorVScott @Scholastic ‏

{Review+Giveaway} Hear the Wolves by Victoria Scott @AuthorVScott @Scholastic ‏

Hear the Wolves is a middle grad/young adult crossover by Victoria Scott. I have read each and every one of Victoria’s books and I have loved them all. Hear the Wolves is so different than all of her previous books. I loved this one too, but I think what I loved most about it was how different it was. Victoria has a way with words. I love how she tells a story, whether it is a romance, a paranormal or something totally creepy and eerily realistic, she pulls the reader in, in a way few authors have managed to consistently do. I just love her books. Sloan, her father, and her sister live in a tiny and remote Alaskan town. Think one step ahead of those Alaskan bush people. There is a town and store, but just barely. And the wolves outnumber the people in the town. By a lot. Sloan suffered a terrible accident when she was younger and it has left deep emotional scars. She is terrified to… Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} CRAZY FOR YOU by @RachelsLacey @ForeverRomance

{Review+Giveaway} CRAZY FOR YOU by @RachelsLacey @ForeverRomance

Crazy for You is a new adult/adult contemporary romance by Rachel Lacey. It is the second book in the Risking it All series; however it can be read as a standalone. This was  my first book in the series and my first book by Rachel, and I have to say, it was so much fun! I really enjoyed Crazy for You. It made me want to go back and read all the other books. Crazy for You is the story of Emma and Ryan. Emma is a small town in North Carolina’s resident good girl and Ryan has a bad boy image from his teenage years still following him around no matter what he does to try and change it. So when Emma comes to him and tell him she wants to shake things up and have some fun he is really torn. For many reasons, but you will just have to read the book (and the summary) to figure those out. I really, really liked both Emma and Ryan…. Read more »

{Review} CO-WRECKER by Meghan Quinn

{Review} CO-WRECKER by Meghan Quinn

Co-Wrecker is a new adult contemporary romance by Meghan Quinn. It is a very funny, almost outlandish co-workers romance. I had a lot of fun with this one but it wasn’t my favorite of Meghan Quinn’s book. Don’t get me wrong, it was a good read and I am certainly still a fan of her books. (She wrote one of my very favorite reads of 2016- Stroked Long with Bodi!) I will be reading all of her other books, I just had a bit of a hard time meshing with the main characters in this one. They were great people and the romance was awesome. They were just a bit too much for my tastes. However; I can see fans of romantic comedies really enjoying Co-Wrecker. Co-Wrecker is the story of Sadie and Andrew. I liked Sadie and at first, I loved Andrew. He is a hot nerd who loves to talk about baseball just as much as he likes to talk about computer codes. I loved that about him…. Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} Legally Charming by Lauren Smith @LSmithAuthor

{Review+Giveaway} Legally Charming by Lauren Smith @LSmithAuthor

Legally Charming is the first book in the new adult contemporary romance Ever After series by Lauren Smith. This is my second book by Lauren, and I liked it more than I did the first book of hers. (Which was the first book in her British Stepbrother series.) Legally Charming was a very cute read. I enjoyed it. Since the series is called Ever After you can make some assumptions that they are going to be cute, slightly cheesy romances. And they are…but I dug that about this book. It was the kind of cheesy happy I was in the mood for. Legally Charming is the story of Felicity and Jared, who are swept up in a whirlwind quick romance. So if insta love isn’t your thing, this might not be the book for you. (They didn’t fall in love at first sight, but they did fall in love within a week.) But, like I said, I really liked the story and sweet romance between Jared and Felicity. I loved… Read more »

{Release Day Review+Giveaway} Con Man by @TTorrest

{Release Day Review+Giveaway} Con Man by @TTorrest

Con Man is a contemporary romance by T. Torrest. Guys, it is no secret that I love love love makeover stories. There is just something about the character growth and the confidence they get, and even better if the romance is between the makeover guru and the client. I just eat it up. All the time. And Con Man is no different. I loved Con Man. It was such a fun read! Plus, we don’t only get to see one of his makeover students…we get to see 3! Con Man is the story of Ainsley and Lucas and Mia. The twist on the class makeover story is that Lucas used to be a geek and he used to know Ainsley. Yes, yes, yes. yes too all of it. I couldn’t read this book quick enough. I just kept getting more and more excited as it went on. And then there is Mia. Mia is another client of his that he has a great friendship with. I loved that this book… Read more »

{Review} Seven Days of You by Cecilia Vinesse @TheNovl @cookieplease

{Review} Seven Days of You by Cecilia Vinesse @TheNovl @cookieplease

Seven Days of You  by Cecilia Vinesse is a young adult contemporary romance that takes place in Tokyo, Japan. I loved the setting of this book. I bet Tokyo is such a vibrant and alive city. I thought it made the perfect place for a week of crazy adventures for these friends. I loved the way the book was set up. Sofia, or Sofa to her friends (I hated her nickname!) lives in Tokyo and goes to an American academy there while her mom is teaching at a university. But the book starts out when she only has seven days left until she leaves, and the chapters start off with countdowns until her departure. It kind of reminded me of The Night we Said Yes  by Lauren Gibaldi. I really liked the flow of the book. It is about a group of friends that all have secrets and crushes and their own drama, but the romance was actually super cute. There were some light family issues thrown in to keep things… Read more »
