{Excerpt+Giveaway} The Forgotten Pharaoh by Laura DeLuca

{Excerpt+Giveaway} The Forgotten Pharaoh by Laura DeLuca

I am excited to share an excerpt with you. I am reading this book right now, and I am really enjoying it. Julie, the main character in the present, is such a typical teenager, I can practically feel the eye rolls come to life. It is awesome so far.  True fear unlike any other suddenly gripped Djedefre’s heart. It overshadowed even the horrendous pain and drove him to his knees. At last he realized where they’d taken him for this unfair trial. Djedefre recognized the hieroglyphics etched into the walls and the face on the many sculptures he’d commissioned. Each one of the effigies bore his likeness. This was his tomb, one of the many chambers within the confines of his great pyramid—the place where his body was supposed to rest so his soul could be reborn. Only it was obvious his well-laid plans were about to be upheaved, as well as the magnificent structure he’d spent the whole of his reign creating. One by one, the priests of Ra… Read more »

{Review} Fall with Me by Julie Particka

{Review} Fall with Me by Julie Particka

Fall with Me was an enjoyable read. It is a fairly short book, at around 200 pages so you can easily read it in one sitting. There were many cute scenes. I loved the dates that Jenna and Sutton went on. The paint-balling date was great. I loved the dynamic between the two of them. Even when they were “pretending” for the sake of their revenge it seemed so real to me. I felt so bad for Jenna. I can’t imagine having a friend or a boyfriend that would do that to me.For me, the whole story was about the romance between Jenna and Sutton. To be honest, I didn’t care much about jerk ex-bf or jerk bff. Anyone that would treat me that way is not cool in my book. So I was fine with whatever revenge they wanted to get. And watching them fall for each other along the way was just icing on the cake. I will admit that I did see the Lacey thing coming a… Read more »

{ARC Review} Wish You Were Italian by Kristin Rae

{ARC Review} Wish You Were Italian by Kristin Rae

Such a cute story. Wish you were Italian is the second book in the If Only series. But each book in the series is a standalone romance story written by a different author. If the other two books in the series are as adorable as this one, I need to read them too. Wish You Were Italian takes you on a fun adventure through some beautiful Italian cities. Pippa is a fun loving girl, just looking for some freedom. Her mom is an art Gallery owner and she wants Pippa to follow in her footsteps. So she sends to her ITALY (!) to take a class on art. How freakin’ awesome is that? But Pippa just wants to explore the country and take pictures. She doesn’t want to work in an art gallery. She wants to be a photographer. So once she gets over to Italy, she makes the very impulsive decision to write to the art school and say she will not be attending and take these 3 months… Read more »

{Review+Sale} Intoxicating Passions Box Set by Felicia Tatum

{Review+Sale} Intoxicating Passions Box Set by Felicia Tatum

The Intoxicating Passions Box set is the complete serial series. It has all five serial/novella parts to the Intoxicating Passions series. This is the only way I like to read serials. I like it when they are all boxed up together in an ebook so that I can read them all together one right after another. It is nice because they are so short that when I read them all back to back they are like reading a full length novel. I thought the story parts were divided nicely. Each one had a good kind of cresendo ending, and they each made me want to continue on to the next part. This is the story of Korah and Dane. Korah has been hurt in the past very badly by an ex boyfriend and because of that she is very distrustful of guys. Dane is the typical love em and leave guy. One night at a time. I liked how we got to know each of the characters a little before… Read more »

{Review} Kiss the Sky by Krista & Becca Ritchie

{Review} Kiss the Sky by Krista & Becca Ritchie

Wow, I need to get my hands on the Addicted Series right now. While I don’t think anyone can top Conner and Rose for me, I also grew to love Lily and Lo in this book. Ryke too! So I can’t wait to read all of their stories. Conner and Rose are IT for me though. I just can’t get enough of them. I don’t even know where to start with everything that I loved about them and this book. I loved Rose and Conner individually, and their dynamic together. I am crazy about the writing, and the plot. All of it is just so smart and witty. Let me put it this way- not only is Kiss the Sky going on my favorites list of 2014. It is one of my favorite books OF. ALL. TIME. Rose is the oldest Calloway sister and I just lurve her. She is such a strong and smart woman. She will not hesitate to kick a guy in the balls if he annoys… Read more »

{ARC Review+Giveaway} I Know Lucy by Melissa Pearl

{ARC Review+Giveaway} I Know Lucy by Melissa Pearl

I Know Lucy is told from Zach’s point of view. The chapters alternate between Zach, which is told in the first person, and Lucy, which is told in the Third person. It really worked for the story. Zach is the one trying to puzzle out the mystery that is Lucy, or Dani as he knows her, so Lucy’s chapters are pieces of her past that allow the reader to slowly fill in the gap between when her parents were killed and Zach’s present. I really loved watching how the story unfolded. Melissa Pearl is an excellent story teller. I loved how smart and observant both Lucy and Zach are. I think that was one of the main things that drew them to each other. It was really interesting to see how similar their thought processes were. Zach is known as the “fixer” with his friends. He always picks girls that are a little crazy or off and he likes to play hero and save the day. His friends think that Lucy… Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} Essence by A.L. Waddington

{Review+Giveaway} Essence by A.L. Waddington

Essence takes place in two time periods. The chapters alternate between the present, 2009 and 1848. I really enjoyed trying to piece the mystery of what was happening together. I liked reading the dual stories because I just couldn’t pinpoint what exactly was happening. Some of the characters were the same, but many of the characters in the two time periods were different not only in name, but also in personality. So I just couldn’t figure out if they were all going to have “future/past” selves or if only one person was time traveling, or if it was something paranormal. But then again, that is kind of the point of the whole book. Trying to figure out just what was going on. And I thought the answer was really very interesting. I will warn you though, you have to wait pretty much the whole book, until the answer is revealed. It was kind of frustrating, but effective because now I really want to read the next book because I want… Read more »
