{Review+Giveaway} Riveted by @JayCrownover @Morrow_PB

{Review+Giveaway} Riveted by @JayCrownover @Morrow_PB

RIVETED by Jay Crownover is the third title in her Saints of Denver Series, which is a spinoff of her Marked Men Series. Riveted is a new adult contemporary romance. I have not read any of the books in either of these series, and even though each of the books can be read as standalones, i really regret not having read books 1 and 2 in the Saints of Denver Series. Because I already love these characters and I want to know their stories! Riveted had me completely riveted from the very first page. (Sorry, I couldn’t resist) This book is seriously so good y’all! Riveted is the story of Dixie Carmichael and Dash ‘Church’ Churchill. I loved the stark differences between Dixie and Church. Dixie is this eternal optimist. A total hopeless romantic that believes in the perfect fairy tale love story. I loved Dixie. You can’t help but want her to get her happy ending. And Church is jaded. Very jaded. How can he not be from his past…. Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} Royal Affair by Parker Swift @the_parkerswift @ForeverRomance

{Review+Giveaway} Royal Affair by Parker Swift @the_parkerswift @ForeverRomance

Royal Affair is the first book in the new adult contemporary romance, Royal Scandal series by author Parker Swift. I really enjoyed Royal Affair. It is the perfect valentines day read, or really a read for any day of the year. It has lots of romance, sexy times, witty banter and great characters. I can’t wait for the next book in the Royal Scandal series, because this one sure did brighten my day. At first, I has no idea what to make of Lydia and Dylan. I loved both of them, but they also each annoyed me in different ways. Lydia is a pretty independent person, and I really admired that about her. It takes guts to pack up and move to another country for an internship, especially one in the highly critical fashion world. But at the same time, she was the type of independent that views accepting help or nice things from other people as a weakness. Which I don’t agree with, and it got to the point… Read more »

{ARC Review+Giveaway} Black Dawn by Mallory McCartney @MalMcCartney

{ARC Review+Giveaway} Black Dawn by Mallory McCartney @MalMcCartney

Black Dawn is the first book in a new adult fantasy series by Mallory McCartney. I have classified this book as new adult because the character are in their 20s, but the content is very clean so I can very easily see this also appealing to younger readers and lovers of young adult fantasies. Black Dawn is a really cool story, and is the set up for what looks like it is going to be an awesome series. I really enjoyed book one, but because there was a lot of world building and background setting, I did have some bumps along the road. However, Black Dawn is a story that just kept getting better and better as it went along. And I think I am going to love book two even more than I did book one. Can I please have book two now Mallory?? Black Dawn starts off in multiple perspectives, rapid fire three different people in the first three chapters and throughout the book we get to see… Read more »

{Review} The Room Mate by @KendallRyan1

{Review} The Room Mate by @KendallRyan1

The Room Mate was originally slated as being a standalone contemporary romance by Kendall Ryan, but now she is going to make it into a series. I am so excited that this is now the first book in the new adult romance series, called Roommates. I loved The Room Mate, and it really shouldn’t be any surprise why. First, Kendall Ryan writes kick ass romances. Second, I love the whole brother/sister’s best friend trope. And third, I think the whole roommate trope is my favorite ever.  So when you combine all three, well, you have a match made in new adult heaven for me. And now I get to see more and more rommmate stories from Kendall. YES PLEASE!! There is just something about forced proximity in the roommates trope that adds a whole other layer to a romance. A layer that I can’t get enough of. The Room Mate is the story of Cannon and Paige. I loved Paige, but I loved Cannon. I mean, what is not to… Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} The Rule Maker by Jennifer Blackwood @Jen_Blackwood @EPEmbrace

{Review+Giveaway} The Rule Maker by Jennifer Blackwood @Jen_Blackwood @EPEmbrace

The Rule Maker is the second book in the New Adult (Or maybe adult- I consider this one a cross over that would appeal to readers of both age groups) in the Rule Breakers series by Jennifer Blackwood. I absolutely loved book one, The Rule Book. It reminded me of The Devil Wears Prada with a male boss, and a whole lot more romance. I really enjoyed it! So I was super excited for The Rule Maker. I really enjoyed The Rule Maker too. I think I liked The Rule Book just a tad more, but this was a great read and an awesome second book in the series. The Rule Maker is Zoey and Ryder’s story. We got to see each of them in the Rule Book, so while you can read this independently of the first book, this is a series that I think is great to read in order. Zoey is Lainey’s roommate from The Rule Book and Ryder is the the shirtless guy from the first… Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} Worth the Wait by @AJ_Pine @EntangledSelect

Worth the Wait is the fourth book in the Kingston Ale House series by A.J. Pine. I have not read the first book in the series, but I did really enjoy book two- Six Month Rule, and book three,Three Simple Words . You can easily start off at any book you would like. They are very easy to follow and each book follows a different couple. I have read several books by this author, so I feel like I pretty much know what to expect going in. I know it is going to be a good romance, I know there are going to be flawed, complex characters that make for an interesting read, and I know that there is probably going to be drama thrown in. And I was right on all of the above for Worth the Wait, and for the whole series. Worth the Wait is Jeremy and Grace’s story.I really enjoyed Grace and Jeremy’s backstories, and I think because of these two characters, Worth the Wait is… Read more »

{Review} Real Good Love by @Meghan_March

{Review} Real Good Love by @Meghan_March

Real Good Love is the conclusion of the Real Duet and should be read following Real Good Man. If you are new to the Real Series, you can check out my review of Real Good Man HERE Real Good Love is the second (and final) book in a new adult romance duet by author Meghan March. I am really loving this series set up style. I love having a duet to continue a couple’s story. Sometimes one book is just not enough, but you don’t need a full blown series. I am hoping to read more books set up in this fashion, and I am definitely hoping to read more books by Meghan March. I love her writing. She is quickly working her way up the ranks into favorite romance author territory. Real Good Love is told in dual narrative between Banner and Logan. Book one, Real Good Man, left off in one humdinger of a spot. And I wasn’t too sure how I was going to like the direction… Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} DEEP DOWN by Mia Hopkins @miahopkinsxoxo @WildRosePress

{Review+Giveaway} DEEP DOWN by Mia Hopkins @miahopkinsxoxo @WildRosePress

Deep Down is the first book in the new adult romance series, the Kings of California by Mia Hopkins. I have never read a book by Mia before, and Deep Down was a very pleasant surprise. I really, really liked this story. It is told in alternating third persona narrative between Eve and Sam. I was really gripped into their story, more than I expected to be. And I didn’t expect it to be as spicy as it was. This book is certainly new adult. Eve and Sam have both had it rough in their own way, but I really admired how both of them were super hard workers. They are not afraid of having to dig in and really get the job done. I think I felt for Eve a little more than I did Sam. (which might be weird because Sam is the one that actually has bad guys after him) Eve was completely shunned by her very traditional father. When he kicked her out and fired her… Read more »

{Mini Review+Excerpt} TOO TEMPTING by Bethany Lopez

{Mini Review+Excerpt} TOO TEMPTING by Bethany Lopez

Too Tempting is the first book in the new adult contemporary romance series, called the Lewis Cousin’s series, by Bethany Lopez. I liked this book, but it didn’t rock my world or anything crazy like that. It was a quick contemporary romance read. To be honest the plot of this one just didn’t click for me, and ultimately that was why I couldn’t enjoy this story more. I would be interested to see Gabe’s cousin’s story, but the premise of Gabe’s story didn’t really grab me. Overall, it was a decent read, but I didn’t love it. Too Tempting follows Gabe and Zoey, who meet at a summer camp and start a relationship. But almost immediately a big secret from Zoey’s sister’s past links all of them together in a way that I just wasn’t digging. From that point on, my opinion was a little tainted. It just seemed too far fetched, and the story moved a little too quickly for me to completely fall in love. But I did… Read more »
