{Review} CO-WRECKER by Meghan Quinn

{Review} CO-WRECKER by Meghan Quinn

Co-Wrecker is a new adult contemporary romance by Meghan Quinn. It is a very funny, almost outlandish co-workers romance. I had a lot of fun with this one but it wasn’t my favorite of Meghan Quinn’s book. Don’t get me wrong, it was a good read and I am certainly still a fan of her books. (She wrote one of my very favorite reads of 2016- Stroked Long with Bodi!) I will be reading all of her other books, I just had a bit of a hard time meshing with the main characters in this one. They were great people and the romance was awesome. They were just a bit too much for my tastes. However; I can see fans of romantic comedies really enjoying Co-Wrecker. Co-Wrecker is the story of Sadie and Andrew. I liked Sadie and at first, I loved Andrew. He is a hot nerd who loves to talk about baseball just as much as he likes to talk about computer codes. I loved that about him…. Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} Legally Charming by Lauren Smith @LSmithAuthor

{Review+Giveaway} Legally Charming by Lauren Smith @LSmithAuthor

Legally Charming is the first book in the new adult contemporary romance Ever After series by Lauren Smith. This is my second book by Lauren, and I liked it more than I did the first book of hers. (Which was the first book in her British Stepbrother series.) Legally Charming was a very cute read. I enjoyed it. Since the series is called Ever After you can make some assumptions that they are going to be cute, slightly cheesy romances. And they are…but I dug that about this book. It was the kind of cheesy happy I was in the mood for. Legally Charming is the story of Felicity and Jared, who are swept up in a whirlwind quick romance. So if insta love isn’t your thing, this might not be the book for you. (They didn’t fall in love at first sight, but they did fall in love within a week.) But, like I said, I really liked the story and sweet romance between Jared and Felicity. I loved… Read more »

{Review} The Play Mate by @KendallRyan1

{Review} The Play Mate by @KendallRyan1

The Play Mate is the second book in the roommates series by Kendall Ryan. The roommates series are each standalone contemporary romances. I loved book one, the Room Mate, and this book was every bit as good. Kendall Ryan just knows how to write romance gold. I always know that I am going to love her books. She has become an auto buy author for me. She is a genius as combining humor, sass, URST and romance, which are my favorite things in a contemporary romance. The Play Mate is the story of Evie and Smith. Evie is a woman that knows what she wants and I loved that she was not afraid to go after it. Sure, I wouldn’t have had the balls to go after it quite the same way she did but I do give her major props. Smith is her older brother’s best friend, and her soon to be business partner. Can you see where this is going? And if you know me at all, you… Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} What I Need by J. Daniels @JDanielsbooks

{Review+Giveaway} What I Need by J. Daniels @JDanielsbooks

What I need is the fifth book in the Alabama Summer series by J. Daniels. Each of the books in this series can be read as complete standalones. But they do feature couples from a group of core friends, so you might prefer to read them in order. I did not read them in order. In fact, this is the first book I have read in the series and I really enjoyed it. Perhaps not as much as the other J. Daniels books I have read, which were both 5 star reads, but I did enjoy this one a lot. What I need is Riley and CJ’s story. I really liked both Riley and CJ. CJ is a little intense right off the bat, but trust me you will warm up to him if you don’t love him right off the bat. For fans of the other books in the series, What I need starts out with Reed’s wedding. CJ is Reed’s friend and Riley is Reed’s sister. I loved… Read more »

{ARC Review+Giveaway} Beauty of the Beast by @RachelLDemeter

{ARC Review+Giveaway} Beauty of the Beast by @RachelLDemeter

Beauty of the Beast is the first book in the new adult Fairy Tale retellings series by Rachel Demeter. I loved Beauty of the Beast. Totally and completely loved this book. I have been really into retellings lately, and this is a great one. The blurb claims it is “Perfect for fans of Beauty and the Beast and The Phantom of the Opera” and I can totally see that! This is a dark and gothic retelling, so it is not going to be light and fluffy, but it is so heartbreakingly romantic. I just loved seeing Isabelle and Adam. Isabelle is taking care of her sick father and Adam is a Prince and also the sole survivor of a raid on his castle when he was younger. He now lives in seculsion and when Isabelle and her father happen upon his castle she trades herself to save her father and that is really where our story starts. This story made me super emotional. Both happy and sad emotions. There are two… Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} Riveted by @JayCrownover @Morrow_PB

{Review+Giveaway} Riveted by @JayCrownover @Morrow_PB

RIVETED by Jay Crownover is the third title in her Saints of Denver Series, which is a spinoff of her Marked Men Series. Riveted is a new adult contemporary romance. I have not read any of the books in either of these series, and even though each of the books can be read as standalones, i really regret not having read books 1 and 2 in the Saints of Denver Series. Because I already love these characters and I want to know their stories! Riveted had me completely riveted from the very first page. (Sorry, I couldn’t resist) This book is seriously so good y’all! Riveted is the story of Dixie Carmichael and Dash ‘Church’ Churchill. I loved the stark differences between Dixie and Church. Dixie is this eternal optimist. A total hopeless romantic that believes in the perfect fairy tale love story. I loved Dixie. You can’t help but want her to get her happy ending. And Church is jaded. Very jaded. How can he not be from his past…. Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} Royal Affair by Parker Swift @the_parkerswift @ForeverRomance

{Review+Giveaway} Royal Affair by Parker Swift @the_parkerswift @ForeverRomance

Royal Affair is the first book in the new adult contemporary romance, Royal Scandal series by author Parker Swift. I really enjoyed Royal Affair. It is the perfect valentines day read, or really a read for any day of the year. It has lots of romance, sexy times, witty banter and great characters. I can’t wait for the next book in the Royal Scandal series, because this one sure did brighten my day. At first, I has no idea what to make of Lydia and Dylan. I loved both of them, but they also each annoyed me in different ways. Lydia is a pretty independent person, and I really admired that about her. It takes guts to pack up and move to another country for an internship, especially one in the highly critical fashion world. But at the same time, she was the type of independent that views accepting help or nice things from other people as a weakness. Which I don’t agree with, and it got to the point… Read more »

{ARC Review+Giveaway} Black Dawn by Mallory McCartney @MalMcCartney

{ARC Review+Giveaway} Black Dawn by Mallory McCartney @MalMcCartney

Black Dawn is the first book in a new adult fantasy series by Mallory McCartney. I have classified this book as new adult because the character are in their 20s, but the content is very clean so I can very easily see this also appealing to younger readers and lovers of young adult fantasies. Black Dawn is a really cool story, and is the set up for what looks like it is going to be an awesome series. I really enjoyed book one, but because there was a lot of world building and background setting, I did have some bumps along the road. However, Black Dawn is a story that just kept getting better and better as it went along. And I think I am going to love book two even more than I did book one. Can I please have book two now Mallory?? Black Dawn starts off in multiple perspectives, rapid fire three different people in the first three chapters and throughout the book we get to see… Read more »

{Review} The Room Mate by @KendallRyan1

{Review} The Room Mate by @KendallRyan1

The Room Mate was originally slated as being a standalone contemporary romance by Kendall Ryan, but now she is going to make it into a series. I am so excited that this is now the first book in the new adult romance series, called Roommates. I loved The Room Mate, and it really shouldn’t be any surprise why. First, Kendall Ryan writes kick ass romances. Second, I love the whole brother/sister’s best friend trope. And third, I think the whole roommate trope is my favorite ever. So when you combine all three, well, you have a match made in new adult heaven for me. And now I get to see more and more rommmate stories from Kendall. YES PLEASE!! There is just something about forced proximity in the roommates trope that adds a whole other layer to a romance. A layer that I can’t get enough of. The Room Mate is the story of Cannon and Paige. I loved Paige, but I loved Cannon. I mean, what is not to… Read more »
