{Review} There’s Something About Sweetie by Sandhya Menon

{Review} There’s Something About Sweetie by Sandhya Menon

There’s Something About Sweetie is the second book in the young adult own voices series titled, Dimple and Rishi, by author Sandhya Menon. The Dimple and Rishi series is a young adult contemporary romance series, where each book is a standalone. As such, you do not need to read the books in order because each story will focus on a different set of characters and their story. However; they are all set in the same world, and so far, there is some character overlap. For example, There’s Something About Sweetie is about Sweetie and Rishi’s brother, Ashish. I can’t even tell you how much I adored Sweetie and Ashish. I loved each of them so much, and their romance is one full of heart and smiles. There’s Something About Sweetie is told in dual narrative between Sweetie and Ashish, which is the perfect narration for this story. It helped me get to know both of the characters very quickly, and let me root for them almost immediately. Ashish is very… Read more »

{Mini Review} Pack of Misfits by Raven Kennedy

{Mini Review} Pack of Misfits by Raven Kennedy

Addie is the first book in the pack of misfits series by the awesome Raven Kennedy. I first read pack of misfits when it was a novella as part of a bind up of other books featuring shifters. It was my favorite novella in the whole anthology, and I really loved meeting Addie. Her and her guys are ducking hilarious 😉 Now, Raven Kennedy has expanded the story into a full length novel, but it is a standalone story for Addie and her guys. Addie is a prey shifter, and is a member of Pack Aberrant, also known as the pack of misfits. I love how feisty Addie is and the connection she has with the three coyote shifters she meets. The full length novel had all of the parts of the novella that I loved, but it also expanded on the characters from pack Aberrant, which makes sense because the other books in the series will each feature a different pack member and their story. The plot of Addie… Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} Dragonslayer by Duncan M. Hamilton

{Review+Giveaway} Dragonslayer by Duncan M. Hamilton

Dragonslayer is the first book in the epic fantasy series of the same name by author Duncan Hamilton. I have been so into fantasies lately and I have always been intrigued by and love books that feature dragons, so I knew this was going to be right up my alley. The cover of this book drew me in immediately, and it kind of reminded me of the Eragon series. Though I will say, Dragonslayer is more adult and is more on the epic fantasy scale. I am super excited to read the next book in this series. The world was confusing for me at times, but that can sometimes be the case in Epic fantasy, and Duncan Hamilton does include a world map, which really helps when I am trying to place things for context. Dragonslayer is the story of Guillot dal Villevauvais, also known as Gill. Once Gill rescues Solene, the story really started to take off for me. Solene was more interesting to me than Gill because… Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} Bad Breed by Kat Ross @katrossauthor

{Review+Giveaway} Bad Breed by Kat Ross @katrossauthor

Bad Breed is the third book in the Gaslamp Gothic series by author Kat Ross. The gaslamp Gothic series, was previously known as the Dominion Mystery series, which includes The Daemoniac and The Thirteenth Gate. I love Kat Ross’ books. Her writing is always so on point and engaging, which these days is one of the most important aspects I look for when I picking what books I want to read. And I think Bad Breed might be my favorite Kat Ross novel yet! I am such a big fan of reimaginings, and lately I have been loving darker reads, so a dark reimagining of Beauty and the Beast is right up my alley! I loved this book! Though Bad Breed is the third book in the Gaslamp Gothic series, it can be read as a standalone, so if you really don’t want to, you do not have to reads the first two books. However, I really enjoyed both The Daemoniac and The Thirteenth Gate, so if you love a… Read more »
