{Re-Review+Excerpt+Giveaway} Slumber by Christy Sloat

{Re-Review+Excerpt+Giveaway} Slumber by Christy Sloat

I read Slumber when it was previously released but it has since gotten a new cover, and I believe the book has been reworked a bit! Today I am sharing the new cover of Slumber, which I absolutely love! It is a big upgrade in my opinion, as well as my thoughts on the book, an excerpt and a giveaway for a new finished copy of Slumber! Slumber is the first book in the young adult Slumber Duology by Christy Sloat. I liked Slumber, but in the end it was just an ok read for me. Slumber is a fairy tale re-telling and I loved the twist that author Christy Sloat took on the tale. It is the story of sleeping beauty but it takes place in Spindle Ridge Asylum for the Criminally Insane, where they have convinced the princess that she murdered her boyfriend. Interesting starting point, right? I thought so too, and the idea behind the story I still think is great. I think it would be better suited for younger,… Read more »

{Release Day Review++Excerpt+Giveaway} Trapped by Rhonda Pollero

{Release Day Review++Excerpt+Giveaway} Trapped by Rhonda Pollero

Trapped is a romantic suspense novel by Rhonda Pollero. It is the third book in the Finding Justice Series. The Finding Justice series follows a set of brothers, but each of the books can be read as standalones. This was the first book in the series I have read, and I didn’t have any problems following the story and the characters. Trapped really did read like a true standalone. I enjoyed both the romance and the suspense aspect of the story, though maybe I did enjoy the romance aspect a tad bit more. Trapped follows Declan and Chasyn. I was initially attracted to this book because of the legal aspect of the story. I am a sucker for anything having to do with law. And I did enjoy the trial part of the story, but Chasyn’s character fell a little short for me. She is a paralegal, which I thought was a great tie in. But sometimes I just couldn’t figure out why she was doing some of the things she was… Read more »

{Mini Review+Excerpt+Giveaway} Totally His by @ErinNicholas #ReadForever @ForeverRomance

{Mini Review+Excerpt+Giveaway} Totally His by @ErinNicholas #ReadForever @ForeverRomance

Totally His is the third book in the Opposites Attract  series by Erin Nicholas. Each of the books can be read as standalones, and they are each contemporary romances. Totally His is the first book in the series that I have read, but I really enjoyed it. It totally hit the spot. I have been reading lots of heavy duty fantasies lately, which I have been absolutely loving, but I did forget how much I enjoy a lighthearted- feel good romance. And Totally His was just that. It was exactly what I needed to break up all the intense books I have been reading. Totally His is the story of Sophie and Finn. I immediately loved Sophie and Finn. Their first encounter was pretty funny. Sophie owns a theater, and Finn is called to the scene of a theater on fire and he is greeted by a woman in a robe and pink fuzzy slippers trying to sneak back into the building. Sophie will do anything she can to save her theater. Insert into… Read more »

{Guest Post+Giveaway} Children of Refuge by Margaret Peterson Haddix @mphaddix @SimonKIDS ‏

Welcome to Day #5 of the Children of Refuge Blog Tour! To celebrate the release of The Children of Refuge (Children of Exile #2) (9/12/17), blogs across the web are featuring exclusive content from Margaret Peterson Haddix and 10 chances to win a both books so far in the series! ——————————— Ten Terrible Titles Years ago I heard the advice that an author struggling to come up with a title for a book should read back through the entire manuscript; magically, she will find that the exact right combination of words has been hiding there all along.More recently I heard of the Terrible Titles game, where an author can scroll blindly through a manuscript, stop at random, and find comically awful title possibilities beneath the blinking cursor. As with many other seemingly contradictory “rules” about writing, I can easily believe that these two concepts could both be true. (And, really, the difference between “brilliant” and “terrible” is often the difference between working hard at something and thinking deeply about it, or… Read more »
