{Review+Giveaway} The Varlet and the Voyeur by Penny Reid & @LHCosway @ReidRomance

{Review+Giveaway} The Varlet and the Voyeur by Penny Reid & @LHCosway @ReidRomance

You can see my review of books 1, 2 & 3 here: The Hooker and the Hermit (5 stars) The Player and the Pixie (5 stars) The Cad and the Co-Ed (5 stars) The Varlet and the Voyeur is the fourth book in the Rugby series by Penny Reid and LH Cosway. I am just going to say it…The rugby series is my favorite sports romance series of all time! Which should come as no surprise to any of you because I think by now you know I have a not so mild obsession with everything Penny Reid (and now LH Cosway) writes. Each of the books in the rugby series can be read as standalones and they each follow a a different character, but trust me when I tell you this, you are going to want to read all of the books in this series. So you might as well read them in order. They are all so stupendously wonderful, and they each follow a different member of the… Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} Succubus Lips by Lina Jubilee

{Review+Giveaway} Succubus Lips by Lina Jubilee

Succubus Lips is the first book in the Succubus Sirens by Lina Jubilee. Succubus Lips is an adult urban fantasy romance, and I have to say right off the bat, this is adult so it won’t be for everyone, but anyone that does enjoy adult fantasy romances, this book was a totally fun read. Succubus Lips is the story of Aurora, who is a Natch. A Natch is a creature that has the ability to boost other creatures magical ability. This boost of power comes from Aurora’s lips. “Her lips have the power to boost. Her love can grant power unparalleled.” I really liked Aurora. She is super feisty, and lot’s of fun. There are multiple love interests in this book, which really shouldn’t be a surprise with Aurora’s magical boosting lips. It is safe to say, there is a lot of kissing in Succubus Lips. But the world that Lina Jubilee created is also totally unique and very interesting. Though this was a short read, there is a big… Read more »

{ARC Review} The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang @HHoangWrites @BerkleyRomance

{ARC Review} The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang @HHoangWrites @BerkleyRomance

The Kiss Quotient  is the first book in a new series by the same name by author Helen Hoang. The Kiss Quotient is a romantic comedy about two characters that will make you fall head over heels in love with them. The Kiss Quotient was like a breath of fresh air for me. I absolutely adored getting to know Stella and Michael, and I am beyond happy that this is going to be a series. Helen Hoang is an author that I need to keep my eye on, because this book was easily one of my favorite reads of 2018 in the contemporary romance category. It was just so cute and romantic! Stella is a numbers gal. She is super analytical, and she also happens to be on the spectrum, so when she has a problem in the love department, she turns to the one thing she feels comfortable with…math and numbers. She thinks she can quantify love and come up with a formula for a winning relationship. I loved Stella… Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} The Queens of Innis Lear by Tessa Gratton @TorBooks

{Review+Giveaway} The Queens of Innis Lear by Tessa Gratton @TorBooks

The Queens of Innis Lear is an adult fantasy by Tessa Gratton. I really, really enjoyed this novel. It had a slow and kind of confusing start, but in the end that makes a lot of sense, because this is an epic story that requires a lot of world and character building. This is Tessa Gratton’s first foray into adult fantasy, and I think the Queen of Innis Lear was a rich and detailed world. Overall, the story was well executed and a great read. The Queens of Innis Lear does work well as a standalone, but I am kind of hoping that we see more from this world. In The Queens of Innis Lear we are introduced to the island of Innis Lear, and we meet the three princesses of Lear. Each of the princesses have such a unique personality and they each have their own story, which was great. I really enjoyed getting to know each of the sisters. But it was also an initial frustration for… Read more »

{Early Release Spotlight+Interview} From Unseen Fire by Cass Morris @CassRMorris @dawbooks

{Early Release Spotlight+Interview} From Unseen Fire by Cass Morris @CassRMorris @dawbooks

I am super excited to have Cass Morris here today! Cass’ upcoming book, From Unseen Fire comes out in April 2018 from Daw Books and it looks awesome!  1.Who are your biggest writing influences? I used to say that I wanted to be Neil Gaiman when I grew up, and that’s still rather true. His writings, and Terry Pratchett’s, have affected a lot of how I think about story and mythos. My ideas on crafting magic have roots in everything from Harry Potter to tabletop role-playing games. Years of studying Shakespeare has put a lot of rhetoric in my head, so that’s been a large influence as well. I’ve also read a lot of romance novels and a lot of historical fiction, and I think those bleed into my style, too. 2..When did you know you wanted to be a writer? I’ve been a natural storyteller and a lover of books for as long as I’ve known what words were, but I can remember, clearly, the first moment I knew that… Read more »

{Review} The Upside to Being Single by Emma Hart @EmmaHartAuthor

{Review} The Upside to Being Single by Emma Hart @EmmaHartAuthor

The Upside to Being Single is a romantic comedy by author Emma Hart. This book was a ton of fun, from the New Orleans setting to the awesome banter between the main character and her boss. The Upside to Being Single is currently listed as a standalone, but the main character, Mellie has two best friends who are pretty much additional main characters Peyton and Chloe. Peyton is getting her own book, which is the start of the upcoming Experiment series, and Chloe’s story is slated to be the second book in that duet, so in my mind this is really the first book in the set of interconnected standalone trilogy for Mellie and her friends. I really enjoyed The Upside to Being Single. It is full of humor and lots of unresolved sexual tension. IN fact, there may have been just a tad too much of it. I felt like by the time something actually happened between Mellie and Jake, the book was almost over. That bummed me out a little… Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} Unconditionally by Erin Lyon @forgereads ‏@WritingLyon ‏

{Review+Giveaway} Unconditionally by Erin Lyon @forgereads ‏@WritingLyon ‏

Unconditionally is the second book in the adult romantic comedy series called Contract Killers by Erin Lyon. I loved the first book, I love you,  Subject to the Following Terms and Conditions (See my review here). The contract Killer series is set in a world where the concept of marriage has turned into a series of seven year contracts. At the end of your contract term, you and your partner can choose whether or not to re-sign for another term of years. Unconditionally is part two of Kate’s duology. In the first book, she is blindsided by her partner when he doesn’t want to re-sign, which sets of a change in Kate’s life. We follow Kate as she navigates a new job and lots of new lover interests. It ended on a nasty cliffhanger, but Unconditionally picks up the day after book one ended and we get to see the continuation to Kate’s story. I loved Unconditionally even more than I loved the first book, and I think that has everything to… Read more »
