She is the most powerful Jinni of all. He is a boy from the streets. Their love will shake the world...
When Aladdin discovers Zahra's jinni lamp, Zahra is thrust back into a world she hasn't seen in hundreds of years -- a world where magic is forbidden and Zahra's very existence is illegal. She must disguise herself to stay alive, using ancient shape-shifting magic, until her new master has selected his three wishes.
But when the King of the Jinn offers Zahra a chance to be free of her lamp forever, she seizes the opportunity—only to discover she is falling in love with Aladdin. When saving herself means betraying him, Zahra must decide once and for all: is winning her freedom worth losing her heart?
As time unravels and her enemies close in, Zahra finds herself suspended between danger and desire in this dazzling retelling of Arabian Nights from acclaimed author Jessica Khoury.
Discussion Post
Today I have a fun discussion post dreamt up by The Forbidden Wish by Jessica Kourney. (Note: I am not getting paid by penguin. I was just given the prompt in celebration for this upcoming release and I thought it would be fun to talk about. all thoughts and opinions are my own.) I thought it would also be a great opportunity to shamelessly show you my home library. 😉
So what the heck am I going to talk about? I know, I know, I should just get to it already!
I am going to talk about what my perfect bookish environment would be. In the Forbidden Wish we are transported to the world of jinni’s. So what kind of bookish wish would I make if I met one? If I could have a book lovers wish and poof into my favorite environment, it would be a combination of what I already have, but with a very magical upgrade!
————————————
I have been slowly working on my home office/library for months and months now. It was really hard for me to get going because I was almost paralzyed with the decision of how I wanted to organize my books. That was a big deal for me. But I finally just decided to pick a semi-order and just go with it, and modify as I go.
Here is what the project started out with:
There were books everywhere! But now it looks something like this: My next step is going to be lining the tops of the walls with bookish quotes.
My Bookish Wish
If I met a jinni and he would grant me a bookish wish, I would make a very cool upgrade to my home library.
Do you guys remember the rotating closet from the movie Clueless?
I WANT THAT FOR BOOKS! I want it to have all the books in a database, and I want to be able to search and pull up a book based on genre,. reading preferences, etc and then I want it rotate through my library and stop on the shelf with the book!
Of course, I would also like to have a super comfy reading chair that I could lounge on any which way I desire at the moment. I don’t think I would ever leave that room.

Oh my gosh, that closet, I remember it (and wanting it!). It would be perfect for books! With a computer screen next to it telling you what you have in each genre and for each author and series. Yes, I can picture it all! 😛
YESSS! That is exactly what I am envisioning too. Now if only, we could make it happen. haha!
Holy cow. You have a gorgeous library already. Although I can totally see why you’d want a Clueless bookshelf. That closet was so cool
Your library is so pretty *blinks* I have that book on my TBR 😀
ohhh, I am loving your idea about rotating bookshelves! 😀
But your booksheves look really, really good now. And there’s so many books! It looks great and I don’t doubt it will look even better when you put some quotes and whatever you want to put there.
