Guest Post and Giveaway- Author Christopher Meeks (Blog Tour)

Today we are being joined by Author Christopher Meeks. I would like to thank Christopher for taking the time to talk about his writing process. I hope you all enjoy it. 🙂 (p.s. My roommate would be so happy that cats have found their way into this post!) HUMOR AND THE WRITING PROCESS—WITH CATS EXTRA I’m pleased to be here. Michelle suggested that I write, as a guest blog, about my process of writing a comic novel. While I’ve written a lot over the years about my writing process either in commissioned articles or in blogs, I’ve never written about humor. That may be because it’s as mysterious to me as phlogiston was to 17th century scientists who tried to understand fire. Both fire and comedy exist, but HOW is difficult to explain. When I first started writing short stories, I didn’t know what I was doing, but I did want to be an SYW (serious young writer). The problem was, humor crept in. For example, I happened to spend… Read more »

Review- Love at Absolute Zero by Christopher Meeks (Blog Tour)

Love at Absolute Zero by Christopher Meeks Paperback, 311 pages Expected publication: September 17th 2011 by White Whisker Books Age Group: Adult Source: ARC from blog tour Buy this Book: Paperback l Kindle(it’s only .99 cents!) Summary (from Goodreads): “Love at Absolute Zero” is about Gunnar Gunderson, a 32-year-old star physicist at the University of Wisconsin. The moment he’s given tenure at the university, he can think of only one thing: finding a wife. His research falters into what happens to matter near absolute zero (−459.67 °F), but he has an instant new plan. To meet his soul mate within three days—that’s what he wants and the time he can carve out—he will use the Scientific Method. Can Gunnar survive his quest? I really enjoyed love at absolute zero. It has been a while since I have read a good contemporary romance/general fiction book. I have been so into paranormal, that it was almost strange to just read about normal people and normal everyday life. But I really liked it. The characters are… Read more »

I look at an object and I don’t just see that object, I see a million possibilities for what it could be. The message I want… Read more »

Follow Friday (8)

Follow Friday (8)

Follow Friday is hosted by Parajunkee’s View and Alison can Read.   If you are new to the #FF fun, Follow Friday is a blog hop that expands your blog following by a joint effort between bloggers. First you leave your name on Parajunkee’s site, then you create a post on your own blog that links back to Parajunkee, and then you visit as many blogs as you can and tell them hi in their comments (on the post that has the #FF image). You follow them, they follow you. Win. Win. Just make sure to follow back if someone follows you! ok now for the question! Q. Have you ever wanted a villain to win at the end of a story? If so, which one? This is an easy one- NO! I have never rooted for the villain. I have liked characters that were supposed to be “bad” and then turned out to be good. Like Hades in the Goddess Test. Blog Roll

Hey guys!I’m finally getting around to creating a “blog roll” page for the blogs that I frequently go to. The page is located under my secondary menu under Blog Events. It’s titled Blog Roll. (go figure) Here is the link to it (but I warn you its a work in progress so it is a little messy right now): http://bookbriefs.blogspot.com/p/blog-roll.htmlHopefully, it will be finished by the end of this week. I don’t want to miss any blogs so if anyone wants to do a button swap, or just wants me to check out their blog to include- please leave a link to your blog in the comments! Also, can anyone help me out with something? I want all the blog buttons to line up nicely in rows but they are not cooperating at all. Does anyone know tips or tricks for getting my page to look neat?Thank you! 🙂
