THE HEAT IS ON When Rory Arish and his two fiery dragon siblings are run out of their ancestral Irish home, it seems their luck has run out-until they arrive in Boston and find a paranormal-friendly apartment building. Finally, Rory has a place to call home.

There's only one problem: Rory's new lair has simultaneously been rented to an infuriating woman who is as stubborn as she is beautiful and will not leave 'her' apartment matter how steamed he may be...

AND SPARKS FLY

Amber McNally is a down-on-her-luck flight attendant. She needs this apartment, and not even a fire-breathing dragon with his Irish charm and scorching good looks is going to scare her away. Holing up in their respective corners, a battle of wills ensues.

Who will be the first to blink...or give in to their off-the-charts chemistry and decide to make this unorthodox living arrangement a little more permanent?

Adult Review My Thoughts

I Dream of Dragons is the first book in the Boston Dragons series by Ashlyn Chase. The Boston Dragons series is an adult paranormal romance. I had really high hopes for this book and the series. I have been loving dragons lately, and I know this book features a lot of different paranormal and supernatural creatures, and that is something I enjoy. However, this one just didn’t work out for me. As much as I tried, and as many times as I put this book down and picked it up again, hoping being in a different mood would help, I just could not get into the story or the characters. I hope that if you pick up the book, it will be a different senario for you, because I do feel like it has a lot of things going for it.

There are dragons, and vampires, and muses, and witches/warlocks, and just about every creature you can think of. I really like the paranormal bar they all hang out at. However, I found I Dream of Dragons to be terribly slow. It really felt like nothing happened for the whole book. The second half was a bit better than the first because we started to get into the romance, but even that was grabbing my attention. I wanted more dragons too. I loved the brother and sisters, but the dragons also fell flat for me.

I’m not sure what it was, but I was just not feeling this book. When I can’t get excited about the characters or the plot, it is really hard for me to enjoy a book. I hope others will enjoy this one more than I did, but sadly, it wasn’t or me.

Don’t just take my word for it.

Sad that is was only a 2. We need some really good books with dragons. Gargoyles are another I would like to see more of.

Very good review. I enjoyed this book, but it was a bit crazy with the characters. The funny banter is what kept me going, because the plot well that was all over and not much of one. It was odd, but I had a fun time reading this one. I did feel the same way as you, wanting more dragons. Ashlyn Chase’s books can be hit or miss. I’ve liked some and not others.
