{Review+Guest Post+Giveaway} Sweet Southern Trouble by @Michele_Summers

{Review+Guest Post+Giveaway} Sweet Southern Trouble by @Michele_Summers

Sweet Southern Trouble is an adult sports romance by author Michele Summers. This is the first book I have had the pleasure of reading by Mrs. Summers, but it certainly will not be the last. I loved Sweet Southern Trouble. It was the kind of book that allowed me to totally escape from the real world. I was very absorbed in this book late into the night and even in the morning before I drove to work. I just had to finish it! And I certainly cannot say that about all books I read. It doesn’t look like Sweet Southern Trouble is going to be a series, but I really really wish it would be. I got to know Q and so many of the other football players well enough. I want them to have their own stories! Please, make that happen! Sweet Southern Trouble is a standalone romance novel told in dual narrative between Marabelle and Nick. Marabelle is like a force of nature. I loved watching her tenacity… Read more »

{Excerpt+$150 BaubleBar💎Giveaway} Stealing Mr. Right by @Tamara_Morgan

{Excerpt+$150 BaubleBar💎Giveaway} Stealing Mr. Right by @Tamara_Morgan

We’re so excited for Tamara Morgan’s new Penelope Blue series! The first book, Stealing Mr. Right comes out on March 7th! Penelope Blue is a wanted jewel thief who’s married to Grant Emerson, a federal agent. What’s that saying? Keep your friends close…and your husband closer 🙂 To celebrate, we’re giving away a $150 gift card to BaubleBar – so you don’t have to steal precious jewels like Penelope Blue 🙂   His voice was softer than I expected: low but controlled, the sound of an authority figure who knows he doesn’t have to shout to be heard. I’ve since realized that’s the most dangerous kind of man to go up against in a fight. He didn’t bluster and yell the way Riker did, and he didn’t speak in terse rebukes, the way I remember my dad doing when I made an error in the middle of a job. Grant was all control and manners. I hadn’t expected manners. “I’ve never seen a man so intrigued by concrete before,” I… Read more »

{Excerpt+Series Giveaway} In Safe Hands by @KatieRuggle @SourcebooksCasa

Hello Book Brief-ers. Today is my birthday. (I am not going to tell you how old, but let’s just say I am still in my 20s…though not for too much longer…) And to celebrate my birthday, I have lots of giveaways planned for this week. There will be lots of prizes and lots of opportunities to win 1 2 or even 3 or 4 prize packs. So here is giveaway number 1! But I wanted to do something for today too, so I am partnering with Sourcebooks to share an excerpt and series giveaway from one of my favorite adult romances series of 2016- the Search and Rescue series by Katie Ruggle! If you are new to the series, you can check out my review of Hold Your Breath(book 1) and My review of Fan the Flames (Book 2) for more information.   I think my favorite book so far has to be book 1, Hold your Breath. And the reason is simple….Callum. I love Callum so, so much. He… Read more »

{Review+Series Giveaway} Fan the Flames by @KatieRuggle @SourcebooksCasa

{Review+Series Giveaway} Fan the Flames by @KatieRuggle @SourcebooksCasa

Note: This is the second book in a series that must be read in order. This review might contain spoilers from book one. If you are new to the series, please check out my review of Hold Your Breath for more information. Fan the Flames is the second book in the adult romance series, called Search and Rescue, by Katie Ruggle. Oooeee, do I love this series. I had so much love for the first book, Hold your Breath. I loved the concept of a series centered around various responder units (Hold your Breath is about a search and rescue dive team, and Fan the Flames is about the firefights in the town), and I love that throughout the series there is an over-arching plot line mystery to solve. Fan the Flames is told in dual narrative between Ian and Rory. We got a little sneak peak of Ian in the first book. You will remember him as the firefighter, but in Fan the Flames we also learn that Ian… Read more »

{Review} I Dream of Dragons by Ashlyn Chase

{Review} I Dream of Dragons by Ashlyn Chase

I Dream of Dragons is the first book in the Boston Dragons series by Ashlyn Chase. The Boston Dragons series is an adult paranormal romance. I had really high hopes for this book and the series. I have been loving dragons lately, and I know this book features a lot of different paranormal and supernatural creatures, and that is something I enjoy. However, this one just didn’t work out for me. As much as I tried, and as many times as I put this book down and picked it up again, hoping being in a different mood would help, I just could not get into the story or the characters. I hope that if you pick up the book, it will be a different senario for you, because I do feel like it has a lot of things going for it. There are dragons, and vampires, and muses, and witches/warlocks, and just about every creature you can think of. I really like the paranormal bar they all hang out at…. Read more »

{Release Day Review+Guest Post+Giveaway} Missed Connections by Tamara Mataya

{Release Day Review+Guest Post+Giveaway} Missed Connections by Tamara Mataya

Missed Connections is the first in a new, new adult contemporary romance series, called Summer Love by Tamara Mataya. Tamara is an author that I have read multiple books from and I have really enjoyed them all. I have to say, I think Missed Connections is probably my least favorite of the 4 or 5 books I have read by her. It is still a good read, and I still really enjoyed it, but I really loved all of her other books, and this one fell a little flat for me. Don’t get me wrong, I liked a lot of things about the story. First, I love the idea of a romance based on the craigslist missed connections section. And I liked the characters and getting to know them. This story follows Sarah and Jack, and I loved getting to know the various sides of Jack. I found the romance to be a lot of fun, if not a little predictable at times. I feel like I am in the… Read more »

{ARC Review} Hold Your Breath by @KatieRuggle @SourcebooksCasa

Hold Your Breath is the first book in the adult romance series, called Search and Rescue, by Katie Ruggle. Oooeee, did I love this book. So much love. Without a doubt, this is an author I want to be on the lookout for and a series I need to be continuing. I really loved everything about this book. I loved the characters (especially Callum), I loved the concept of a series centered around various responder units (Hold your Breath is about a search and rescue dive team, but there are also cops and firefights in the town that I think will get their own stories), I love the idea of a overarching plot line with a murderer throughout the books; and I really, really loved Callum. (did I already mention that?) Hold your Breath is told in dual narrative between Callum and Lou. Lou is a new diver on the team and is relatively new to the area. Lou certainly has attached a fair bit of attention, and I have… Read more »

{ARC Review} Must Love Cowboys by Cheryl Brooks @SourcebooksCasa @CherylCatMaster

{ARC Review} Must Love Cowboys by Cheryl Brooks @SourcebooksCasa @CherylCatMaster

Must Love Cowboys is the second book in the adult contemporary series, called Cowboy heaven by Cheryl Brooks. Each of the books can be read as standalone, and this is the first title from the series that I have read. It takes pace at a ranch that really does seem like cowboy heaven. There are tons of single cowboys all living under one roof. While I loved the cowboys, obviously, I really liked the mystery plotline that ran throughout the story. Tina shows up at the Circle Bar K ranch on a mission to deliver some letters to her grandfather’s best friend, and when that friend almost dies, Tina stays on for a little while to take his place as the ranch cook. Cooking for a big group of cowboys with seemingly never ending stomachs, sounds like an awful job to me, but it is Tina’s dream job. I loved seeing how excited she was over coming up with meal ideas and how excited the guys were to eat her… Read more »
