{Mini Review+Excerpt+Giveaway} MAYBE THIS TIME by @JenniferSnow18 @ForeverRomance

Maybe this time is the second book in the Colorado Ice series by Jennifer Snow. The Colorado Ice series is an adult contemporary sports romance. This is the first book I read in this series, and while it can be read as a standalone and I had no problem following along, I do think this would be best enjoyed in order. Maybe this Time is a book that has elements outside of my comfort zone, but I am so so glad I decided to read it. I knew I would love the hockey player aspect of the story, but divorce and bitter divorcees are not really something I gravitate towards in my romances. Maybe that is rude of me, (which I don’t mean it to be!) it is just not something I can really relate to and it brings a whole separate set of baggage that I don’t really have the experience to connect with the characters. But I do love a sports romance and I love a sweet second… Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} Playing by Her Rules by @AmyAndrewsbooks @BrazenBooks

Playing by Her Rules is the first book in a new contemporary romance series, called the Sydney Smoke Rugby series, by Amy Andrews. I suppose you could call this a second chance at love novel, but it is like an ex novel. I really liked the story line in this one, because surprisingly it is one that I have not seen done much. Matilda is a writer, and she gets assigned to cover one of her ex-boyfriend’s rugby team- sparks fly. And I don’t necessarily mean positive sparks. I loved how feisty Playing by Her Rules was. It was so much fun to read! I have to say, the whole cover makes Tanner seem all kinds of devilish. And at first glance, I can’t say that description is too far off. But make no mistake, Matilda can more than hold her own. She is not letting go of the past, even though Tanner is determined to get her to change her mind. It was a battle of wills between these… Read more »

{Release Day Review} Winging It by Cate Cameron @CCameron_Author @EntangledTEEN

Winging It is the third book in the young adult Corrigan Falls Raiders series by Cate Cameron. I really enjoyed the first two books, Center Ice , and Playing Defense. All of the books in this series are such fun reads. I love the intersection of semi-professional sports and younger characters. The guys are all high school and college aged but they are in a unique situation. They are living both young adult and adult lives with Hockey and school. It is an interesting combination that I never really gave much thought to until this book. Most of the hockey stories I read are professional NHL, so one of the things that I like most about the Corrigan Falls Raiders series is that I get the best of both worlds when I am looking for a young adult read. I get semi-professional hockey and I still get young adult characters. Winging It is told in dual narrative between Nat and Toby, and it is a fake relationship story. (this seems… Read more »
