Summary(from Goodreads):

Alexis MacGuire is just like other college students. She goes to class, eats pizza, and holds down a job. The difference is, her job could get her killed.
As the unluckiest member of a family of elite assassins, she spends her spare time jetting from one country to another neutralizing scum the government doesn’t want to be attached to–often in unconventional and unplanned ways.
When she receives an email exposing the secrets of her last job she enters into a game of cat and mouse with someone known only as the Hunter. With the help of her brother, her best friend, and an FBI agent who makes her heart skip beats, she must find the Hunter before he destroys everything and everyone she loves.

Murphy’s Law is a great, quick read. It focuses on a young assassin that aquires her very own creepy stalker/hunter. But that didn’t seem to be the main focus of the story for me. In my opinion, the romance took center stage and the more violent plot was woven around it. I would have liked the assassin storyline to be a little bit more pronounced but I loved the romance in this book so much that it didn’t bug me at all. I didn’t even think about this until after I had finished reading the book. I was like, “hey, she didn’t go on too many assignments, did she?” But if you like romance, this book has it in spades.
Everyone is such a quick thinker in Murphy’s Law. That was really nice to see. I also think it’s pretty funny how the story title- “Murphy’s Law” was incorporated into the plot. If you don’t know what Murphy’s Law is, it’s the premise that if something can go wrong, it will. I’ve heard it before. The main characters nickname was Murphy because things always seemed to go wrong during her assignments. She did have some pretty bad luck. But all of that changed once she met Dane. Oh Dane- you are pretty incredible. I don’t think I have met another guy that was as confident as him, without it getting on my nerves. He pulled it off and he was super yummy!
Overall, I loved the idea behind the book Murphy’s Law and the romance was right on point. I do wish the book was a little bit longer because the ending came up a little abruptly, and I would have liked to see a bit more into the assassin aspect of the story, but I enjoyed the romance so much that it made up for those things. If you are looking for a suspenseful adult book where romance is the star, then I would suggest giving Murphy’s Law a try!
