Nothing brightens up a Monday like finding out you’re the spawn of Satan
The big bad is dead and now Satan’s spawn must fight for the Morningstar throne. I’m tossed into the ring, whether I want to be there or not.
I’m mostly human, a hunter by trade, and totally outmatched by my half siblings. The chance I’ll survive these tests and claim the throne is slim.
Then someone starts assassinating my siblings.
It’s only a matter of time until I’m next.
I’m not the kind of girl who depends on anyone, but there are four demons who could help me survive this fiasco—a sadistic Nightmare, a psychotic efreet, a charismatic Fallen and Sin, an unhinged monster. Problem is, like all demons, they’re absolutely, sinfully tempting.
I’m pretty sure they each have their own agenda.
I’m also pretty sure one of them is the killer.
Let the games begin.
An Urban Fantasy Paranormal Romance filled with action, mystery, sizzle and multiple love interests for our lucky heroine.

My Thoughts

Demon Throne was a fast paced paranormal romance by author Debbie Cassidy. Demon Throne is the first book in the Demons of Morningstar series. I loved this book, it is shaping up to be a reverse harem romance but it hasn’t quite gotten there yet, but I have to say I am intrigued by all of the guys, and by the storyline. I am excited that each installment is coming out in rapid succession because I need more from this series right now!

Nyx has always thought of herself as a half “demon blood” but when Satan is killed, she finds herself bearing his mark, which means she is one of his children. She gets called into Morningstar to compete against her other half siblings for his throne. But before they even really get into the actual trials, someone starts killing off all of her siblings. I loved that the siblings banded together to rally against the mysterious killer and the story has kept me totally intrigued. There are so many secrets for us to uncover in virtually every character and I am dying to get to know some of the guys better. So far the guys are: Sin- Nyx’s mysterious friend. We have no idea what Sin’s deal is or how he will play into the future events of the story. Sev- who is a nightmare that Nyx risked her life to save, and as a result he is now bound to her. Sev is really interesting because he is so multifaceted. Zephar is a fallen and also a lord of one of the Princes surrounding Morningstar. Ignatius who was introduced later in the book and who is also a lord to one of the other princes, and finally Artimus who is an incubus that “found” Nyx and brought her to the competition. I can’t wait to dig deeper into this guys pasts and heads because I just know they are all hiding something.

Even though Nyx is constantly being told she has virtually no power, she is a feisty little thing. I feel like there are plenty of untapped potential in her and I can’t wait to see it. I love her a s a main character. She is spicy, sassy, fierce and has such a good heart. I loved that she brought all of the siblings together. I was initially thinking there would be a whole lot of ugliness and backstabbing going on with the siblings but I think my favorite part of the story was actually the bond between the siblings. They came together in such a wonderful way and I don’t want to see anything happen to any more of them!  Luckily book 2 will be out soon because I want to keep reading!

I love our heroine’s rebellious nature! It’s so great when a woman gets to be assertive, beat the odds, and embrace her true self.
