SiS read-a-thon Finish line! Report #2

Posted June 19, 2011 by Michelle @ Book Briefs in Read-A-Thon, update / 0 Comments

Well it is has been a crazy two days. I am so glad that I participated in this read-a-thon! It was so much fun! I would love to do another one soon! I would like to thank http://www.squeakybooks.com/ for hosting this great read-a-thon! Here is my day 2 report:

Final reading update/stats!

  • Total Books Read: 5.9 (I was soo close to finishing my 6th book, but I fell about 20 pages short when the finish timer sounded. So, close but no cigar. 5.9 makes me feel better than just 5 books lol)
  • Total Pages Read: 1,853
  • Books Read Since Last Update: .9 (technically it is 0, but it was oh-so-close to being done. I have finished it now but it was past the time for the challenge- bummer!)
  • Pages Read since last update: 224
  • Total time read: 18 hours
  • How I’m currently feeling: A little bummed that I couldn’t get the 6th book in to meet my goal. I came pretty close tho! and I almost DOUBLED my reading pages goal! That’s pretty good. 🙂
  1. First of all, give us an end-of-read-a-thon status update. Books read, pages read, you know the drill! I read finished 5 books and almost finished a 6th one. I read 1,853 pages. The books that I read for this read-a-thon were not the ones that I said I would originally read. I had some picked out but I am more of a mood reader and I just grabbed books from my TBR pile that tickled my fancy at the time.
    1. Abandoned by Meg Cabot
    2. Give up the Ghost by Megan Crewe
    3. Paranormalcy by Kiersten White
    4. Tower of Parlen Min by Matt Xell
    5. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by JK Rowling
    6. Midnight Alley by Rachel Caine(90% done)
  2. What is your favorite book you read during the read-a-thon? I loved Paranormalcy! I would say Harry Potter but I was re-reading that series so it was not a new favorite.
  3. Did you participate in any mini-challenges? Which ones? I participated in two mini-challenges today and all of the mini-challenges yesterday.
  4. Which mini-challenge was your favorite? I loved the create a sentence from book titles challenge!
  5. What has been your favorite thing about the read-a-thon?I loved talking to people that were also doing the read-a-thon, and going around to the different blogs when I took breaks. It was fun!
  6. Are you satisfied with how much reading you got done? Did you do more than you expected? Less?I could have read more if I didn’t have interruptions yesterday. Today was a great reading day for me though. I do wish I had finished midnight alley tonight though.
  7. What did you think of the updates? Too close together? Didn’t like the time limit?I thought the updates were good, but maybe stretch them out to just a few a day.
  8. If you could change one thing about the read-a-thon, what would it be? One or two less updates, so we have more reading time. Or maybe a twitter challenge would be fun!
  9. Would you participate in another read-a-thon hosted by Squeaky Books? Why or why not? I would love to participate in another read-a-thon. Name the day and time and I will be there!
  10. Any last comments on the read-a-thon? Thank you so much for hosting this! I loved it.
