QOTD: What is the last series you finished? The e QOTD: What is the last series you finished? The epic conclusion of Eira’s journey of love, loss, and power. A pirate does not ask…they take. I absolutely loved the A Trial of Sorcerers series. This was the last installment and I am so sad that the series is done, but I loved the conclusion. There are some things left up in the air, but it works with the story. This series is perfect for readers who love stories involving: sorcerer competitions, slow-burn romance, adventures to distant lands, pirates, good triumphing over evil, and elemental magic. This is a series that must be read in order, and we pick up right where book 4 left off. I felt like we had our foot to the gas pedal for the entire story. There is so much happening, in the best way! I love Eira as a character and I loved watching her really come into her own in ways that I don’t think she ever could have anticipated from where she started in book1. This was really a wild journey for her. I can’t recommend this series enough. If you are looking for an epic quest/adventure style fantasy, you need to check out A Trial of Sorcerers. Elise Kova does a fantastic job with this story, these characters and her epic fantasy worldbuilding is brilliant. It was so interesting. In Reign of Cinders and Glass we meet Ella and Prince Cassius. I loved both of them. They had fantastic chemistry. Everything about their story pulled me in. Once I picked up this book, I did not want to put it down! I love retellings, and this was a great one. Really great, strong characters, the writing is captivating, the world is easy to fall into and the romance is so much fun! I loved it and I can’t wait to see what Fated Fairytale we are going to get to see next. This book was a hit! If you are a fan of retellings, then this is a can’t miss Cinderella tale that you are going to love. Creatures of Chaos is a fast-paced YA urban fantasy series that’s being called The Serpent and the Wings of Night meets Crave. ———— There’s only one rule in Chaos: win or die trying. ———— Creatures of Chaos was FANTASTIC! I loved this book so much! I listened to the audiobook version and the narration was wonderful as well. There are lots of supernatural creatures in this world, and they can enter the chaos trials- a deadly competition where the winner gets a super powerful dagger. Our main character Locklyn does not have any power, so entering a competition against some of the strongest supernatural beings does not seem like a smart move for her, but watching her in the trials was riveting for me. Locklyn was such an easy person to root for, and I also quite enjoyed the love triangle that was presented. Creatures of Chaos is a book that has everything I love- a great plot that keeps moving at a brisk pace, easy worldbuilding, plenty of twists and turns and great characters. There is no spice, but I can’t wait to see where the romance goes in the next book. Overall, I could not stop listening to this book. I loved every single second of it. I can’t wait for the next book. QOTD: What is your favorite read of October (so fa QOTD: What is your favorite read of October (so far)? DANGER LURKS. READY YOURSELF. They exiled him from his realm, and soon, the lone wanderer shall have his revenge. ————— House of the Raven is the first book in the The Eldrystone series by author Ingrid Seymour. This was a slow burn enemies to lovers fantasy with a light romance. The world building was the star of this book for me. It was wonderfully described and a great unique world. There is also strong character growth with Valeria. I enjoyed watching her come into her own during the journey. In addition to our main characters, there are also some really fun side characters. Val’s cousin, Jago was my favorite character in the book! He is great comic relief from some of the book’s tenser moments. The romance in this book is pretty light, but there may be more in the second book. I would say this is more for plot based readers who like great world building and an interesting magic system. I think if the romance expands in the next installment, it will grab more attention from romantasy fans. I am intrigued by the world and magic system and am interested to see where the series is going to take us next. QOTD: What is the best Halloween costume you have QOTD: What is the best Halloween costume you have ever seen? Be Careful what you wish for. Wish is the first book of the Onyx Mist series, which is a dark fantasy. I really enjoyed this book, and I was pleasantly surprised by how dark and rage filled the emotions in this story felt. I could feel Mora’s hate and anger leaping off the page, which is a testament to how good the writing is. This is an excellent debut novel from Sara Flanagan. Mora is cursed to be bound to a bottle, and is forced to grant the bottle holder three wishes. She has been cursed for hundreds of years, and to say she is bitter and resentful of this is an understatement. If you like villainous main characters, then you will really appreciate Mora. (though the actual villain in the story is so much worse!) Once Zadriel entered the scene, I was totally enraptured by this story. I loved the world, I loved the writing and I loved the plot. Just when I thought I knew what was going to happen next, Sara switched things up on us. Some of the twists and turns really took me by surprise and I love it when that happens. This was an excellent first installment to what looks like it will be a deliciously dark fantasy romance. I loved this book and can’t wait for the next one!
