SCORCHED BY DESIRE

Dimitri lives to protect the secret of the Dragon Kings from the human race. Bound by a bond stronger than blood to the Kings, Dimitri uses his strength and prowess to defend a thousand-year-old secret. But when an oh-so-sexy, slightly absent-minded archaeologist wanders into his midst, Dimitri will have to give up his rules, and give in to desire...

When Dr. Faith Reynold stumbles upon an ancient skeleton that appears it comes from a dragon, she’s completely taken aback. A woman of science, there’s no way in her mind that this mythological creature can exist. But when a devilishly handsome man named Dimitri intercepts her path to uncovering the truth, Faith’s curiosity turns into all-consuming passion. She’s never felt this way about any man before.

But when Dimitri reveals his biggest secret, can she learn to love the man—as well as the dragon within, in Firestorm, the next Dark Kings novel by New York Times bestselling author Donna Grant.

My ThoughtsFirestorm is an adult paranormal romance by Donna Grant. It is the tenth book in the dark kings series. I have not read any of the previous books in the series, but they can each be read as standalones. I do have to say, I feel like this series would be better read in order. Yes, this book can work as a standalone, but I feel like I would have a much better idea of the world if I had read the previous books. That being said, I did really enjoy Firestorm. I found it to be sexy and a great read.

Firestorm starts out with our main character, an archeologist, discovering a dragon skeleton. Right away I was hooked into the story. I loved Faith and I really, really loved Dimitri. I admired how determined Faith was, and I really enjoyed the back and forth between her and Dimitri. Dimitri is super interesting himself. I loved seeing his inner struggle with the human v. dragon side and the way that influenced his interactions with faith. Plus, the romance was awesome. The perfect mix of intense and sweet.

Bottom line: If you are a fan of adult paranormal romance, I would reccomend the Dark King series. However; I would not start with Firestorm. Donna Grant is a master storyteller I while I think you can safely pick up and start with any book, you may be confused from time to time on world elements. I think you would do best to read this series in order. I wish I had. Either way, I really enjoyed Firestorm and I can’t wait to go back and read the Dark Kings series from the start. Fans of long series will love this one.
