Five years.

That’s how long I’ve been gone. Since I left my best friend—the girl I loved—behind.

Five seconds.

That's how long it takes to realize I am completely, utterly, screwed. Because now that I’m back, my childhood crush has turned into so much more.

Rylee has changed. We both have. And now I’m drawn to her in a completely different way. To her smile. Her touch. To reliving old memories and making new ones. To the happiness she’s always given me that I haven’t felt since I left.

But her friends are hell-bent on keeping us apart. My dad is one drink away from destroying both of our lives, and maybe I am, too. It’s only a matter of time before I have to leave again, and there’s nothing I can do to stop it. I never get a choice.

The one choice I can make? Stay away from Rylee. Because if I don’t, I’ll break her heart—and mine—all over again.

Disclaimer: This Entangled Teen Crush book contains references to drinking, addiction, and just the right amount of angst. You’ll want to save this tortured hero, while at the same time, not want to change a single thing about him!

YA ReviewMy ThoughtsPieces of You and Me is a young adult contemporary romance by Erin Fletcher. I am just going to say it. I don’t think I will ever get enough of cute feel good romances. They are just my thing. They make me happy. And Pieces of You and Me is just that, a cute feel good romance. This is a quick read. One I finished in half an evening, and it put me in a better mood than when I started reading it. Which is the goal. This is my first book that I have read by Erin Fletcher but I know it won’t be my last.

Pieces of You and Me is told in dual narrative between Rylee and Chase. I loved Rylee and I really liked who Chase was as a person, but I just don’t love the whole truancy bad boy thing. And I really didn’t love the way he seemed to be rubbing off on Rylee at the start of the story. But putting that aside, Rylee and Chase were really cute together. I loved the memories that they shared and the inside jokes. Their friendship is really something special, and it was really nice to see how important it was to each other. Even all these years later.

Pieces of you and me is part friends to more trope, part second chance trope, and part bad boy good girl trope. All winners in my book, and the combination of them is something that worked really well for me. In this case I needed to have their background friendship in place since the new Chase was something of an adjustment for me. I really did like him, and I can see him as swoonworthy, but he was far from perfect.

Bottom line: if you like the second chance at love trope and you can’t resist a tortured bad boy, you will each of Pieces of You and Me. Even if that isn’t your thing, this book is a really sweet and cute read. It is a super fast read too, one you can read in an afternoon when you are looking for a nice young adult contemporary romance. blue3.5@Bookbriefs review & giveaway Pieces of You and Me by @ErinFletcher11 Share on X

well, I’ve been with my boyfriend for 18 years now so I would have to go back way more than 5 years about the one who got away. I’m actually glad , not about the pain I went thru, but that he got away. If he hadn’t I would never have met my soulmate.
