The Rise of Fortune and Fury is the fifth and final book in the adult fantasy series, called Chronicles of the Stone Veil, by Sawyer Bennett. I completely loved this series. If you are a fan of adult fantasies featuring fae and demons, then this is a must read series for you. And now is the perfect time to pick up this series if you love to binge read because all five of the books and a prequel novella are out now and ready for your reading pleasure. I loved that Sawyer Bennett tried her hand at a fantasy series because not I want to read more fantasy from her. I loved this epic story and I really, really loved Finley and Carrick.
like all the other books in the series, The Rise of Fortune and Fury picks up right where the last book left off, on that heck of a cliffhanger. In the last book we found out about a huge betrayal that I did not see coming at all! View Spoiler » Knowing that this is the final installment in the series we know everything is going to culminate on one heck of a battle. A battle not only where Finley’s life is at risk but also a battle for control of earth! If Kymaris wins she will tear open the veil between the underworld and earth, unleashing all of her dark fae demons on the world. And it is up to Finley to find a way to stop her. The Rise of Fortune and Fury did not disappoint. There is so much action and fighting and the stakes are very high so I felt on edge the whole time I was reading. But I also loved that we finally got to see more of Finley’s twin sister Zora.
I’m not going to spoil the plot of this book because I want you to read the series and see how it ends for yourself, but I think you will be really happy with it if you are a big Carrick fan like I am. I love him so much and I so desperately wanted him to get his happy ending. I love Finley as well and her character growth is so impressive throughout these 5 stories but Carrick will always have a piece of my heart. Be ready for an epic conclusion with this book!
Bottom line: Fans of fantasies featuring light and dark fae set in our world will devour the Chronicles of the Stone Veil. This is an awesome epic fantasy series that was such a satisfying read. More people need to read this series. It is fantastic! I really loved the Chronicles of the Stone Veil, and I think you will too.
