{Review+Giveaway} The Chosen Knights by Mary Ting

{Review+Giveaway} The Chosen Knights by Mary Ting

The Chosen Knights is the first book in the Angel Knights series by author Mary Ting. However, It was recommended to me to try the prequel novella, The Angel Knights, first. Each of the books can be read on their own, but I decided to read this series in order, starting with The Angel Knights. On one hand, I was glad that I did. It helped me get to know Lucia and Zachary a little better, and since I didn’t read the originating crossroads series, this book helped me put all the pieces together for the crossover characters. But on the other hand, I didn’t love the Angel Knights. I found it to be a little simplistic and a lot rushed. I didn’t have the chance to connect with any of the characters. But still, I love the idea of The Chosen Knights, which is the first full length book in the series, and I wanted to see what Mary Ting could do with the characters in a full length… Read more »

{Review} Hold My Breath by Ginger Scott @TheGingerScott

{Review} Hold My Breath by Ginger Scott @TheGingerScott

Hold My Breath is a true standalone, New adult contemporary romance by Ginger Scott. And boy does this novel pack a punch. I was not expecting it to be as deeply emotional as it was. The story tugged on my heartstrings right from the very start and honestly it didn’t let go until the end. Will and Maddy’s story had my heart in a vice grip long after it was done. And that was what I liked most about this story. If you like heart-wrenching reads with a beautiful romance, you should check out Hold My Breath. This one surprised me. Hold my Breath is told in dual narrative between the main characters, Will and Maddy. They have a shared history between their two swimming families. Maddy used to date Will’s brother Evan until a tragic event happens that affected his whole family, leaving will to try and pick up the pieces all by himself. This story deals with the aftermath of that event and also how Will and Maddy… Read more »

{Review} Chasing Rabbits by @Erin_Bedford

{Review} Chasing Rabbits by @Erin_Bedford

Chasing Rabbits is the first book in The Underground series by Erin R. Bedford. The Underground series is a new adult fantasy romance that is a really cool take on Wonderland. Think Alice in Wonderland, mixed with the Fae. Wonderland is really called the Underground and it composed of shadowlands, inbetweens and both the seelie and unseelie courts. I absolutely delighted in Erin Bedford’s take on the story. I thought it maintained the perfect craziness of Wonderland, which mixing in perfectly suited Fae fantasy elements. I think it is the perfect marriage actually. I loved this book, and I have already started read the second one. I couldn’t help myself. I needed more! The main character of Chasing Rabbits is Katherine. A young woman who stumbles into Wonderland chasing a rabbit. Sound familiar? Well, trust me, she is no Alice and though the characters might seem similar this is not the same tale of Alice in Wonderland you are used to. However; lots of my favorite elements were there. I… Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} Normal is the Watchword by Jasmine Tru

Normal is the Watchword is the first book in a new series from Jasmine Tru called the Watchword series. Right off the bat I was drawn to the beautiful and vivid cover. The story started off pretty interesting. We are dropped into the life of Juniper, or Juni who is trying to complete her senior photography project to win a scholarship to college. I really liked the start of the story. It was very every day life writing. It helped me get to know the characters well and get a feel for their friendships and relationships. The book took a while to get going into the main storyline, but once that part of the book got started, everything seemed to happen at lightning speed. Juni is out taking pictures for her project one day, and she witnesses as murder. Throw in a mysterious guy at school, with lots of secrets of his own and a kidnapped best friend and you have quite the exciting story on your hands. I enjoyed… Read more »
