Today I am going to talk about my 2015 new years resolutions

 Blogging Resolutions:

-Be more interactive :

This is an ongoing resolution for me. I want to garner more comment interaction and visit other bloggers more often. I love doing it, so it shouldn’t be a problem for me, but time is the big limiting thing here. I only have an hour or so in the morning and some time at night, but that time at night is also split between writing my blog posts and reading all my books. Plus, cooking dinner, eating and being social periodically.

But still, I want to get on twitter more and chat around more with some of the awesome bloggers that I don’t get to talk to enough. If you have a similar resolution this year, say hi to me. Let’s become friends 🙂

-Update my books on Goodreads:

The book blogger plugin that I use has a goodreads add on that automatically adds my reviews to goodreads, which is awesome, but it doesn’t add a date read to the review, so the books are not counted in my yearly challenge. I like to use the goodreads challenge to keep track of how many books that I have read, but I have to remember to go back to each book and manually add in the date read to goodreads.

If you recall in my year in review POST I said that my books read in 2014 number might be a little off (on the low side) that is because I think some books slipped through the cracks of me updating the read date on goodreads.

-Keep better track of my review books

I have been doing a little bit of a better job of this of adding them in on my calendar as soon as I get them and then reviewing my calendar and asjusting my reading accordingly, but I want to try and revamp my system so it works a little better. I am totally open to suggestions!

-Get ahead on my TBR and posts

this is the hardest thing for me to do. But I really want to get a cushion back for my posts. It has been dwindling down now that I have been busier.

Real Life Resolutions:

-Start working out in the mornings:

I know mornings are the best time for me to work working out into my routine, but waking up an hour earlier is really hard for me. That 5:30 am wake up time, still stinks. But I am trying to get into the habit of doing it because I really want to get back into the gym regularly, and I know I won’t do it after work because its already so late by then.

-Get out and start Hiking on the weekends:

I am going to try and do a 2 or 3 day hike at least once every other month. I want to go to some new places and explore. I think I am going to start out closer to home and eventually get further and further away.

-Try some new cooking recipes:

I want to find some new things to cook. I am on the hunt for really long crockpot recipes. (like ones that cook for 10 hours). I am also looking for some easy casserole and dinner recipes. If anyone knows of any good ones, let me know 🙂

I am back from my bloggy break and feeling renewed. I went through my tbr pile on Goodreads and cleaned things out. I hope the New Year brings you joy and awesome reads!

oh nice, I need to clean out my shelves on goodreads. It is on my blogging to- do list. (which is an actual list haha) I changed the colors up on my calendar system and started adding in books in a different way so jan and feb are going to be test months for that.

Happy New Year Kimba! I hope 2015 is fabulous for you!

Those are some fantastic resolutions and I like the hiking one although I’m not a hiker. Getting up early to go to the gym would be a serious challenge for me, good luck to you. Like you, I need to do better at commenting and at keeping track of my review books. I need to get a better handle on my review books, period.

Good luck and happy new year!

Thanks! Happy New Year! I have been slowly getting all my hiking and camping gear and I think I finally have it all, so I am excited to start putting it to goo use. I love hiking and camping but I haven’t been backpacking much so that will be the challenge for me. How much will I be able to carry and still keep up pace. That is really what the working out is for too. I want to build up my lung endurance (I have asthma)

And the review books challenge will be tough. It had always been tough for me, but this last year it has gooten out of hand. I am thinking about what system might work better for me.

While I am doing pretty good with the blog commenting, I would like to be a bit mroe social on social media. Often I lurk a lot, but I don’t really engage.
I always use goodreads to keep track of what I am reading and I have a shelf with my reviews book, whcih works pretty well for me, but I cna imagien that if you write your book on your blog first you have to remember to update them on goodreads.

Good luck with your new years resolutions!

Thanks Lola! Happy New Years to you too 🙂 I am a huge lurker. I want to break that habit more this year. And I always used to do goodreads first and then my blog so it was never an issue, but now with the plugin, it auto ads my reviews to goodreads so I need to remember to go back and update.

some years I don’t make them, but I find that the years that I do, I actually follow them pretty well. So here’s hoping! haha I would love to see yours if you do make them 🙂

Michelle, these are awesome resolutions! I’m so on board with being more interactive, I can absolutely relate to having little time to do this, because work, and life…so I think it’s great to be more conscious about it. I also loved your “real life” resolutions. I’m also planning to work out more, but I don’t think I’m able to do it in the mornings. It’s so hard to wake up an hour early! How do you do that? I would love to discover the secret recipe to that. After work works for me, though.

I really want to try and interact a lot more with bloggers as well. I started at the end of the last year and really enjoy popping round on blogs. I use blogglovin’ to check out new posts which is great!

I like the ideas you have here! I set a resolution for scheduling ahead when it comes to the blog and now I have everything prescheduled for two months in advance, which is very relaxing. I also want to take bigger bites out of my TBR which means I won’t be lending anymore books from the library, solely my own books until I run out. I like the idea of interacting as well. Time can be a big factor into that.
