{Review} CO-WRECKER by Meghan Quinn

{Review} CO-WRECKER by Meghan Quinn

Co-Wrecker is a new adult contemporary romance by Meghan Quinn. It is a very funny, almost outlandish co-workers romance. I had a lot of fun with this one but it wasn’t my favorite of Meghan Quinn’s book. Don’t get me wrong, it was a good read and I am certainly still a fan of her books. (She wrote one of my very favorite reads of 2016- Stroked Long with Bodi!) I will be reading all of her other books, I just had a bit of a hard time meshing with the main characters in this one. They were great people and the romance was awesome. They were just a bit too much for my tastes. However; I can see fans of romantic comedies really enjoying Co-Wrecker. Co-Wrecker is the story of Sadie and Andrew. I liked Sadie and at first, I loved Andrew. He is a hot nerd who loves to talk about baseball just as much as he likes to talk about computer codes. I loved that about him…. Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} Twisted by @BonnieMHennessy

{Review+Giveaway} Twisted by @BonnieMHennessy

Twisted: The Girl Who Uncovered Rumplestilskin’s Name is a young adult fantasy re-imagining of the story of Rumplestilskin by Bonnie M. Hennessy. Twisted is Bonnie’s debut novel and I have to say I loved it! I found it to be a delightful, and dark twisty tale of not only Rumplestilskin, but also of the young lady, Aoife. This part of the summary is what initially got me interested in the story was, “This is not the tale of a damsel in distress, but a tenacious, young woman who solved a mystery so great that not even the enchanted man who spun straw into gold could figure it out.” And let me tell you, Aoife was a fierce heroine. I really liked her. I do have to say, I initially thought that Rumplestilskin was going to be the love interest, and as I was reading, I even wanted him to be the love interest. But no, Rumplestilskin is not. There is a romance in Twisted, and it was pretty twisted, just… Read more »

{Mini Review+Excerpt} TOO TEMPTING by Bethany Lopez

{Mini Review+Excerpt} TOO TEMPTING by Bethany Lopez

Too Tempting is the first book in the new adult contemporary romance series, called the Lewis Cousin’s series, by Bethany Lopez. I liked this book, but it didn’t rock my world or anything crazy like that. It was a quick contemporary romance read. To be honest the plot of this one just didn’t click for me, and ultimately that was why I couldn’t enjoy this story more. I would be interested to see Gabe’s cousin’s story, but the premise of Gabe’s story didn’t really grab me. Overall, it was a decent read, but I didn’t love it. Too Tempting follows Gabe and Zoey, who meet at a summer camp and start a relationship. But almost immediately a big secret from Zoey’s sister’s past links all of them together in a way that I just wasn’t digging. From that point on, my opinion was a little tainted. It just seemed too far fetched, and the story moved a little too quickly for me to completely fall in love. But I did… Read more »

{Review} Captivate by Vanessa Garden @vanessagarden27

{Review} Captivate by Vanessa Garden @vanessagarden27

Captivate is the first book in the Submerged Sun series by Vanessa Garden. The Submerged Sun series is a young adult paranormal fantasy featuring an underwater city and mermaids! As soon as I saw that I thought, Umm, yess! Sign me up please! I really enjoyed this one. It does have a love triangle, so I know that might be a turn off for some people (and full disclosure: if love triangles do bug you, this is a pretty big one, so you might want to skip in that case.) but I enjoyed this book and am looking forward to continuing the series. I don’t read a ton of mermaid books, but I do really enjoy them. I liked Captivate because a lot of it took place in the underwater world, and it was a very cool world, called Marin. Vanessa Garden did an excellent job with the world building in this novel. In fact, it was one of my favorite things about the book. Another great thing were the… Read more »

{Guest Post+Giveaway} #TheDreamWalker by Michelle Lee Murray @murray_mlmurray

Guest Post written by Michelle Lee Murray Five Places In Mystica I’d Like to Visit I love the world of Mystica. Of course I created it, so I’m a little biased. When I created the world of Mystica, I pictured castles, dragons, caves and forests. A world full of mist, magic, and wizards. I trapped the wizards in stones. It is up to my heroine Miranda, the Dream Walker to find and release the white wizards from their stone prisons. You will have to read the books to see how the dark wizards escape. If Mystica were real instead of just on paper and in my imagination, here are the top five places I would like to visit:   Number 5: The Ice Caves: Though I’m not a big fan of ice and snow, there is something magical and beautiful about the Ice Caves. Blue globes, ice crystals, and of course the small ice people. I would love to sit at their table and have dinner with them. The frozen… Read more »

{Interview+Giveaway} The Du Lac Chronicles by @MaryAnneYarde

{Interview+Giveaway} The Du Lac Chronicles by @MaryAnneYarde

“An evocative, timeless saga of love and betrayal” Tony Riches, author of The Tudor Trilogy  Amazon #1 Best Seller in Young Adult Medieval Fiction Today I have author of The Du Lac Chronicles, Mary Anne Yarde here to tell us a little bit about herself and her book! Check out the interview and then enter to win a copy of this post-Arthurian book for yourself! Where did you grow up? I lived in a small Somerset village surrounded by fields and woods. My parents owned a smallholding, so it was not unusual to find ducks in the bath or sheep wandering in and out of the kitchen! I remember when I was little, the school I went to had a ‘dress-up as a nursery rhyme character’ day – the obviously choice for me was Mary had a little lamb. I don’t think the teachers were that impressed when I turned up at school with a real lamb on the end of a lead! What were you like at school? I… Read more »

{Interview+Giveaway} How to Get Your Heart Broken by Rose Fall @rosesarecool

{Interview+Giveaway} How to Get Your Heart Broken by Rose Fall @rosesarecool

Do you remember the first story you ever wrote? It was fan fiction. It was about One Tree Hill which is still one of my favorite shows in the world. I used to write it by hand and then give it to one of my best friends to publish online, because we didn’t have internet at home. Medieval times… Who are your favorite authors? KIM HOLDEN! I’ve never before felt the way I did while reading Bright Side and Gus. It didn’t feel like reading a book, the devastation was so real. I feel like I came out of that a different person! I also love John Green, Lauren Oliver, Rainbow Rowell… What inspires you to get out of bed each day? One of the mottos I live by is a quote I read once: “Don’t take life too seriously; no one makes it out alive anyway.” My friends happen to think I have a pretty morbid sense of humor, but to me this idea is very liberating. It means… Read more »

{ #Review } Insanity by @CameronJace

{ #Review } Insanity by @CameronJace

Insanity is the first book in the young adult series of the same name. Originally I thought that the series was going to be called Mad in Wonderland, and I have to admit that I liked that name more, but insanity is very fitting for this book. I loved this book. I think it might be my first (and only) 5 star book of the month.  I thought that Cameron Jace did an amazing job capturing the mad essence and nonsensical sense of Lewis Carrol in his writing. I am a huge fan of both Through the Looking Glass and Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, so these books were a match made in mad heaven for me. I loved Cameron Jace’s Grimm Diaries, but Insanity has to be my favorite book of his to date. All of the characters came to life right in front of my eyes. Pillar the Killer was incredible. I know it sounds weird, but I am totally infatuated with him. I know that was not the… Read more »

{Dream Cast+Giveaway} Gilded Destiny by Nola Sarina

{Dream Cast+Giveaway} Gilded Destiny by Nola Sarina

I’m excited to share with you my dream cast of characters for Gilded Destiny today! If you’re reading the book, I hope you keep these actors in mind as you get to know them and hear their voices as they tell this dark, romantic story. Check out pics of each actor/actress on my Pinterest page too. 🙂 Gilded Destiny Dream Cast My ideal Nycholas would be either Charlie Hunnam or Chris Hemsworth. Because muscles and Thor and… yes, they’d be perfect LOL. The actresses who would best play Calli would be Jennifer Lawrence or Emilia Clarke. Jennifer Lawrence because she’s got the sass and smart-assness of Calli, and Emilia Clarke for her ability to remain composed even when facing fearful situations.   I’d most love to have Joe Manganiello play the part of Levi, and if you follow me on Facebook you might know that I’m a little obsessed with him hehe. He’s tall, he’s Italian, and he knows how to look scary as HELL. And muscles. See the Pinterest… Read more »
