{Interview+Excerpt+Giveaway} Beyond The Pale: Dark YA Fantasy Anthology @Nimpentoad

Today I have Henry Herz, the editor of Beyond the Pale here with us on Book Briefs. Welcome Henry! 1. Describe Beyond the Pale in a Tweet (140 characters or less) BEYOND THE PALE is an anthology of dark/urban fantasy & paranormal stories by master authors like Beagle, Butcher, Brewer, Garcia & Yolen.  2. What are some of challenges of putting together an Anthology? You have to select a theme. Then you have to decide which authors to invite. Then you have to convince them to participate. Then you have to see if they have a story that both matches the theme AND is available for use. Then you have to negotiate contracts. Then you have to acquire, edit, and format the stories. {Review} One Lucky Night -Contemporary Romance Anthology

{Review} One Lucky Night -Contemporary Romance Anthology

I love when anthologies all revolve around interlocking characters or some central theme. As I got to some of the later stories, I was looking out for the scenes where the earlier stories took place. It was fun. One lucky night is a great book for when you are looking for a quick and happy pick me up. I started… Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} Breakaway : A New Adult Spring Break Anthology

{Review+Giveaway} Breakaway : A New Adult Spring Break Anthology

Breakaway will have a story or two in it for everyone. Whether you like light and fluffy, dark and gritty, cute, sexy, or smokin’ hot, there are stories that will satisfy any romantic craving. I absolutely loved Breakaway. It was perfect for getting my quick romantic fixes. The stories were varying lengths and had completely different feels to them. I gravitated towards the longer stories and the cute and fun ones. But some of the darker ones were really interesting. I thought it was a really eclectic mix of Spring Break tales, but all of them had a very new adult vibe to them. Some of them were downright hot hot hot. I liked a few of the stories so much that I had to drop everything, look the author up and write to them about their other books and buy them. I was also pleasantly surprised at how many stories there were in the book. It seemed like a pretty good length book, and there were 13 different… Read more »
