{Review+Giveaway} The Dating Debate by Chris Cannon @entangledteen @ccannonauthor

The Dating Debate is the first book in the Dating Dilemmas series by Chris Cannon. The Dating Debate is a young adult contemporary romance. I have read Chris Cannon’s other young adult series, the Going Down in Flames series, which is a young adult paranormal romance. I really love that series, so I was excited to read something completely different from this author. The Dating Debate was a super quick read that was light, fluffy and a lot of fun. The Dating Debate is perfect for when you are looking for a quick fun book that you can easily finish in one afternoon. The Dating Debate follows our spunky main character, Nina. Nina is an unapologetic bookworm, which I totally loved about her. She cracked me up when she found out that her next door neighbor, West was “fluent in Harry Potter”, which was so obviously a major plus in all bookworms books. Nina cracks me up. She is spunky and adorable and she really loved debating, over everything. Which,… Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} Trial by Fire by Chris Cannon @entangledteen @ccannonauthor

Please Note: this review may contain spoilers for the first two books in the series. If you have not read those books yet, you can check out my reviews of them here: Book 1- Going Down in Flames Book 2- Bridges Burned Trial by Fire is the third book in the young adult paranormal series, Going Down in Flames. Like the previous two books in the series, this one picks up right where book 2, Bridges Burned leaves off, so be sure to read the previous books before starting this one. I liked Trial by Fire, but I think it is my least favorite installment of all the books so far. It is a close call, and to put this in perspective, I love this series so much, that even though this book is my least favorite so far, I still loved it! Bryn is back at school and dealing with a lot. In fact, all of the characters are. I felt for her, for Rhiannon, Garett and Valmont. (who,… Read more »

{ARC Review+Giveaway} Blackmail Boyfriend by Chris Cannon

{ARC Review+Giveaway} Blackmail Boyfriend by Chris Cannon

Blackmail Boyfriend is a whole new genre for author Chris Cannon. I love her going down in flames series, and I love contemporary romances, so I was happy to give this one a read. And I did enjoy it! I think I like her paranormal series more, but this was a cute little read. Blackmail Boyfriend starts out with the kind of crazy twisted web of lies, that made me want to run and grab a snack before I went on a little further. Let me set the stage for you: Bryce has a crazy ex girlfriend that doesn’t get that they are broken up. Bryce hooks up with a popular girl Haley over the weekend and decides to start telling people (I think to send a message to his ex that they are over.) Popular Haley uses another Haley’s name because popular Haley recently got back together with her beefcake on again, off again boy toy, and she doesn’t want him to get mad at her. “Other Haley” (our… Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} Bridges Burned by Chris Cannon @entangledteen @ccannonauthor

Bridges Burned is the second book in the young adult paranormal series, Going Down in Flames. This book dives right in after the events of the first book, so if you haven’t read the first book in a while, you may be lost. I was. I had to go back and read my first review to try and spark my memory of just how everything left off. I think Bridges Burned was a good second installment in the Going Down in Flames series, although I have to say one character in particular threw me for a loop. He did a complete 180 personality wise. There is more romance, or should I say romance drama in this book than there was in the first book. And I was kind of bummed by that. It mostly has to do with what a huge jerk Zavien is. I liked him in the first book and I was undecided about Jaxon, but in this book it totally gets reversed. I can’t stand Zavien, and… Read more »

{ARC Review+Giveaway} Going Down in Flames by Chris Cannon @entangledteen @ccannonauthor

Going Down in Flames is about Bryn- a girl who can shapeshift into a dragon. I loved it! I don’t think I have ever read a young adult book where the main characters are dragons. It was interesting because none of it felt overdone or standard. Every piece of information that the author gave us really added to my overall picture of the story. Bryn gets shipped off to basically the dragon boarding school, where you learn all about your newly manifested dragon powers and basically get prepped for your life within dragon society. Bryn is a unique case because she is the product of crossbreading- something that the Directorate (think government full of Umbridges) told everyone wasn’t possible. Her father is a red dragon and her mother is a blue dragon. Bryn became a little bit of each, which means that she has lots of really cool abilities. People from the clans pretty much hate Bryn on sight. Not all of them, but most of them. I felt bad… Read more »
