Fetch is the first book in the Odd Jobs series by author AJ Alexander. Fetch is a contemporary romance novel, and one that I really enjoyed at that. It is also AJ Alexander’s debut novel, and it deals with plenty of adorable dogs, so you know right off the bat that it is going to be a huge hit with me. And the story lived up to the adorableness of all the furry friends.
Fetch is the story of Addison and Cole. Cole is an interesting character. He is totally full of himself. It took me a while to warm up to him, but like Addison, he eventually won me over. Cole owns his own dog walking business. What I liked most about Addison was how she has no problem putting Cole in his place. Honestly, Addison was Cole’s redeeming factor. Without her, he is just a cocky borderline jerk. I will throw him one bone though- he certainly is persistent. Which he needed to be to win over Addison. (who, by the way…I loved!)
Fetch is a cute contemporary romance with lots of banter and heart. It was a fun read. I am looking forward to the next book in the Odd Jobs series, called Served. If you are a fan of dogs and you love romantic comedy type romances with the redeemed player trope, then Fetch will be right up your alley.
