The first three Sugarspear Chronicles novellas, now available in one ebook!

In a small town called Muddlewoods, young Sadie Sugarspear endures intolerable cruelty at the hands of her brutal stepfather. Sadie finds solace in the one thing her real father, Sam Sugarspear, left behind: a book about an imaginary land, ruled by a king who grants wishes.

One day, when her stepfather’s cruelty reaches unimaginable depths, Sadie runs away and hides inside a crevice in her beloved willow tree. To her surprise, the tree opens up, sending Sadie falling down into the abyss, into a land she’s only ever read about—where she must begin a long, terrifying, and heartbreaking journey home.
On her way, Sadie encounters a mysterious boy named Joseph, a sinister character named Gismania Twylight, and the alluring and passionate Alasdair Astigan. And she is also terrified to learn that she is also being hunted by unnumbered and unknown forces from kingdoms all around…

Will Sadie give up and return home to Muddlewoods? Or will she risk everything to find the legendary king who can make her wishes come true?

This ebook contains the first three novellas in Nicole Arlyn’s epic dark fantasy series, The Sugarspear Chronicles.

This book is intended for mature audiences and contains disturbing content that may cause the reader to delve into his or her own land of fantasy…just like Sadie.

guest postToday I am happy to have author Nicole Arlyn here to tell us somethings she didn’t know about while writing The Sugarspear Chronicles.

I didn’t know…

-How much I would love spending aaaalll my time writing. When I wrote The Sugarspear Chronicles I stowed myself away in a flat in Southern England and wrote seven days a week, 18 hours a day until my body gave out, never my mind, and I never realized how truly much I felt most myself, most in my life’s purpose. I could spend all my time there, writing in solitude, with long walks in between.

-I didn’t know I was so good at many languages. Living in Italy I quickly picked up the Italian language, on the streets really. I never studied. Although I need to now!

-I also learned French quickly while in school in Paris, although that I studied. But now I must brush up as Italian has taken over.

-Another thing is my passion for creating languages. There are are two invented languages in The Sugarspear Chronicles. There is also a lost dictionary for those languages…which will also be published.

-Sadie didn’t know that she could play the piano and loves music. Her main gift and passion is writing but in BOOK 8 she meets a seedy character called Romulus Lyre who seduces her into playing the piano and she plays mindblowingly well having never studied and she doesn’t know why this is. There is a secret to this you must read the books to discover… as to WHY and HOW she knows how to compose music.

-I didn’t know I would love being a mother at the extreme amount I do. It took me a long time to become a mom and now that I am, it’s the greatest gift on earth. I would like more! I thought I would just be okay living my life as an artist but now I am living the beauty and work of being a mom to my little son and there’s nothing like seeing him grow, nothing as astounding and blessed. and Creative!

-I didn’t know any of my characters in The Sugarspear Chronicles beforehand, they all appeared as they appear to the reader. Nothing, not a word, not a page, not a beat was planned. Everything came sequentially before my eyes, and I just wrote down what was happening in my mind like a film.

-I didn’t know Sadie would run away from the Palace to go back to her earthly love, Alasdair, as she she did after an intense arduous life threatening journey to get there. I didn’t realize how truly unworthy on such a deep unconscious level she felt after all the abuse she went through. When she got to the palace I really thought the books were OVER. DONE. But she showed me otherwise.
