A week in the Life of Book Briefs:
Things have been hectic over here. Work has been crazy busy and my puppy broke his leg. He fractured his tibia and fibula and he had to have surgery to put a plate in. The surgery went well and now he is recovering and healing. His leg is healing great, but he is just a puppy and he has a ton of energy and all he wants to do is play, play play. And he is not allowed to run or jump or explore on long walks. We have to keep him contained and calm, which is his worst nightmare. So we have been hanging out with him a lot and trying to keep him calm, but what he really is, is bored. But he is healing well, which is really all that matters.
The plus side is, weekends at home mean lots of reading and diamond painting and watching my shows. I am currently watching the netflix Gilmore Girls special (I know, this is super over due)
House building update: in case you didn’t know, my husband and I are building a house. We have finally picked a builder and we can’t wait to get moving on building. But first, we have to get through permitting which I am told can take 12 weeks. So more waiting right now. But soon, I can’t wait to see the house come together. I will have plenty of library updates, which is going to be epic!
Let me know what you are up to this week in the comments below!

Oh your poor puppy! (And poor you!) I hope he continues healing well.
Good luck with the house build! I’d love to build my own home but land prices in the UK are ridiculous. 🙁

Aw I’m sorry to hear about your puppy! Poor guy- he must be chomping at the bit to be active and it must be hard for him (and you guys haha) to hold him back! Hope he heals quickly and is good as new soon. And congrats on the house news! How exciting!
Be well and have a great week.
Jen
Hugs to your puppy for breaking his leg. Here’s hoping he can heal asap and can get back to running and playing ♥. And yay for the huge adventure of building your house! That’s so exciting! Wishing you all the luck with the process!
