Today I wanted to do a little something different on the blog. It is hard to believe, but it is already February, which means Valentine’s day is right around the corner.
Chocolates, flowers and teddy bears are nice, but for the book lovers in your life, what about getting creative and finding something really bookish and cool for them to enjoy?
Plus, I just love shopping for book related goodies. I always end up buying some for myself as well.
Here are some things that I think would make excellent Valentine’s day gifts for that special book lover. (or for yourself!)

1. Book illustration word posters
Have you guys heard of PosterText? It is the coolest thing! I bought one for my office/library that I am slowly putting together in my new apartment and I absolutely LOVE IT!
Click on the poster below to find out more about it!
The posters are pictures from classic (and contemporary) books that are made entirely out of text from that book. Isn’t that awesome??
I got the Alice in Wonderland poster you see below and I couldn’t be happier with it.
You can click on the poster of alice to be taken right to that one, or click on the top banner to go to the site and see all of the posters.
If you sign up for their newsletter or like them on social media, you get a $5 off coupon too!

2. Book Themed coffee mugs/phone cases/accessories
I’m sure there are lots of places where you can get book mugs and phone cases that feature your favorite books, but I really like this gal’s shop. All of her designs are pretty and feminine, and she has coffee mugs, phone cases and notepads from Hunger Games, Harry Potter, and Divergent.
(Not a huge selection, but all of the things she does have are really cute.)
All of the pictures link to the page where you can buy the item. And she has more in her shop, so be sure to check her out at http://www.melissacreates.com/shop/

3. Custom bookish t-shirts
My sister showed me this site, called SpreadShirt.com where you can completely design your own shirt to be whatever you want, and while the site is not limited to just books and movies, there are HUNDREDS, if not thousands of quotes, pictures, sayings and designs from all kinds of book series, movies and tv shows, and everything else you can think of.
Not to mention you can pick the style and color of the kind of shirt you want to make, change the placement of designs, the color of designs, or make up your own design.
The options here are virtually endless. You can make cell phone cases, shirts, tanks, hoodies, hats, baby clothes. And the designs and quotes that they have are all keyword searchable so it makes it super easy to find just what you are looking for.
My sister made this deathly Hallows tank top

Those were just some of the ideas I had for sending a creative gift to a book lover this valentines day (or whenever!)
What else do you think would make a good bookish Valentine’s Day gift?
