Some beliefs that have defined my life for the past few years are that happiness is a choice and that it starts with a smile, that complaining about something when you can’t or won’t do anything to change it is useless, and that if you can choose whether to be hurt or offended by what people say, you just have to take things less seriously to be happier.

I’m a firm believe in you get what you give and what goes around comes around. I live by these two beliefs because they keep me in line to work hard and do good. Especially on a bad day, it’s easy to forget that there’s always sunshine after the storm so I just tell myself that as long as I push a little harder and smile through it I’ll be OK when all is said and done. 😀

I would say a lot of my beliefs are not firm in the sense that they stick around through all stages of my life, but one that I’ve focused on the longest is: Don’t allow toxic people or situations into your life. I have a tough enough time staying positive so I definitely don’t need other people making that harder than it already is.
