Follow Friday (4)

August 12, 2011 follow friday 5

Follow Friday is hosted by Parajunkee’s View and Alison can Read.

If you are new to the #FF fun, Follow Friday is a blog hop that expands your blog following by a joint effort between bloggers. First you leave your name on Parajunkee’s site, then you create a post on your own blog that links back to Parajunkee, and then you visit as many blogs as you can and tell them hi in their comments (on the post that has the #FF image). You follow them, they follow you. Win. Win. Just make sure to follow back if someone follows you!

ok now for the question!

Q. How has your reading habits changed since you were a teen? or If you are still a teen what new genres are you in love with currently?

My reading habits have not changed too much since I was a teen. I read a lot of the same YA books, but now I have worked some adult paranormal romance and a few contemporaries into my reading list. I think this is normal, but I still love YA and consider it my primary genre of choice. When I was younger I had not read any YA dystopian and now I love it!

There are, however, some sub-genre shifts that I have noticed in my reading since I was a teen. I used to read a lot more YA contemporaries, and now I tend to pick up more YA paranormal romance. I am also way more into YA mythology. When I was a teen I didn’t read YA mythology, I read the classic mythology. I don’t really know if my reading preferences are evolving or changing. I think it is more that I go through phases. Whenever I read a great book, I want to read more books like it, and for me that tends to mean that I will stick to one sub-genre for a while. Right now, I am really loving paranormal romance and mythology based books.

Thanks for hopping by my blog, I’m a new follower 🙂

It’s funny because I read WAY more YA than I EVER did when I was a young adult lol There wasn’t as much to choose from (I’m turning 27 in December) so I’m not really THAT old, but compared to nowadays there wasn’t as much available.
