Hey guys, I mentioned in my what I am obsessed with post that I would be doing the Facts of Me event today. This is hosted by the blog, I wore Yoga Pants to Work, so head over to her blog if you want to join in!As soon as I saw this post on Whitney’s blog, I knew I wanted to join in. Then I actually sat down to think about facts about myself that would be at least a little interesting. After about 5 minutes I gave up and asked my family and roommate. And I thought their answers were so funny so I decided to put my facts first and then put my families version of me after.
The Facts of Michelle
I love dogs, but I am allergic to them. I wish it was socially acceptable to run up to random dogs and cuddle them. I really do. Dogs are just adorable and they ALWAYS make me happier. My friends think that I like dogs more than people. I’m not going to verify or deny that statement.
My two dogs, Ron (brown) and Harry (black)Yes. My family named them after Harry PotterI love those dogs 🙂
I have an electronics addiction. For real. But the silly thing is that I have a million electronic devices that each do similar things. I have so much overlap, but somehow I still manage to use them all. Like I have an ipod, but I also have my iphone and ipad that also play music. Still not convinced I have a problem?? Here are my electronic devices that I have IN MY BEDROOM.
1. iphone*+
2. ipod video
3. itouch+
4. ipad*+^
5. kindle+^
6. laptop*+^
7. netbook*+^
8. tv
9. video camcorder*
10. digital camera*
11. photo printer
12. eprinter+
13. nintendo DS
14-16. various alarm clocks/iphone speakers
The bad thing is they all do similar things.

I love to travel. I want to see the world. I have been really lucky and I have had amazing travel opportunities pretty early on in life. I have been to 2 of the 4 girl scout world centers. (Switzerland and Mexico) I have studied abroad at Oxford for a semester, and some surrounding countries. (Dublin, London, Paris, Brussels, Bruges, Amsterdam, Zurich, Adelboden, Interlachen, Cuernevaca, Mexico City) I have also been on a family trip to Canada. This has given me the travel bug BAD. I want to see it all.
Veins creep me out. I won’t let anyone touch my veins. (except doctors, if needed) Just thinking about someone pushing on my veins gives me chills. I know this is weird. I blame it on nurses that don’t know how to take blood. 3 different times I have had a nurse go in to take blood and instead poke me a million times because my veins roll and then they blew said rolling vein. 3 freakin’ times!
I’m most ticklish under my chin. Yes, I said chin. No I don’t know of anyone else who is most ticklish under their chin. I have actually heard other people say it kind of hurts. But no, not for me. For me it is can’t stop, can’t control it, gut busting laughter. My sister gets a real kick out of this. Me- not so much.

I am a big scaredy cat, but I have surprisingly done some adventurous stuff. I cannot say this enough. I am a HUGE wimp. I have no pain tolerance. Even the finger prick at the doctors hurts used to hurt me. I am super cautious (I wouldn’t even leave the steps of the pool when I was little) and I am scared of heights. BUT I have been paragliding and white water rafting. Go figure. I have been white water rafting 3 times and the 2nd time I got thrown from the boat and dragged under it. And I still went back for that 3rd time. Again, go figure. I do love roller coasters- the bigger and faster the better.
I’m an enigma.
(left) Paragliding in Switzerland. (right) white water rafting in North Carolina
climbing jump rock. HAHA YEA RIGHT!
no way in H-E-double hockey sticks did I do that

And now let’s see how other people answered the question:
“what are some interesting facts about me” (michelle)
Mom and Dad: They said, “You’re afraid of heights. Your favorite phrases when you were little were “open the dammit door”, “ooh I don’t like!“, “Hey! You scared me!“, and “Hey! That hurt!” Your favorite movie was Charlotte’s web and your favorite quote from that movie was “I don’t want to die.”
Me: I seem like such an awesome kid, don’t I? sounds like I yelled a lot and was a little wimp. And btw the hey that hurt was to a doctor after he pricked my finger. Told you I was a wimp.
I don’t want to die story- My parents love to tell this story. My mom says that when I was 2 years old I used to watch Charlotte’s web every single day. One day, I was hanging out with my aunt and I turned to her and completely serious said “I don’t want to die”. Well, it totally freaked her out to hear a 2 year old say that. She called my mom in a panic thinking that something was wrong with me and that I was dying. Nope I just liked to quote things that I heard. (see also: “Open the dammit door”)
Roommate: She said, “talk about traveling, or your strange fear of the movie E.T. or about how much you love pens. Or how much you hate twizzlers. And you are a book and makeup hoarder.”
Me: Ugh, I HATE TWIZZLERS. I can’t even stand the smell of them. And sadly everyone around me loves them. I don’t even like thinking about E.T. There is something not right about an alien with such prominent ribs. He is beyond creepy to me.
And roommate is also right about the pens. I have a slight obsession with finding the best pen.
Roommate is right about everything. Take a look at my makeup storage. I use all of the drawers and it is totally full.

Sister: She said, “You love dogs even though you are allergic to them. You fell off of a bus. lol You were in a singing group. Lmao.”
Me: Yes, we all get it I love dogs. This is starting to make me sound like a weirdo. And yep. I fell off a bus. No, it wasn’t moving. I never said I was graceful.
OMG, I can’t believe you brought up SUGAR. I mean, what?? NO, I did not start up a singing group with my neighborhood bestie called Sugar. And we certainly did not throw cul-de-sac concerts and film fake behind the scenes concert videos.
‘Hits’ may or may not have included:
-The Sugar Bunch (theme song)
-Water
-The Whistle Song
I’m so glad my sister gets such a kick out of me.
—
Aunt: You love dogs and Harry Potter.
Me: It’s like we are on the same wave length! 😉 (see #1 above)
can you tell that I like dogs??
OMG I think this is the longest post I have ever written.
Did anyone make it through it? I don’t think I could have. Haha!
And I can’t really believe I am telling you some of this stuff. I feel the need to mention that I am a normal functioning member of society.

LMAO! That was an awesome post. Where do I even start? Oh, I know… Sugar! Wish we could see some video of that. And those quotes from when you were little are hilarious. Haha – my brother used to be TERRIFIED of E.T. and at 26 will still leave the room if we turn it on.
I loved this, Michelle!
This is the best thing ever. I seriously can’t stop laughing. I literally burst out laughing at “open the dammit door” (and I’m LOLing again just typing it). I think you’ve lived a really interesting life so far! All the travelling you’ve done…so jealous. I groaned when I read ‘Dublin’ because I want to to go Ireland SO BAD. Veins creep me out too! It’s an issue…I don’t like looking at them and don’t like people even touching my wrists…when I see people with wrist tattoos I freak out because all I can think of are the veins there lol. And I’m with Christy, I seriously wish we could see some video of Sugar.
Luckily I saw your post mentioning this last night so I participated too! I hope you’ll come check out my fun facts! <3

This was a fun post. I can only imagine what my friends and family would say about me. Hey I run up and cuddle dogs all the time, or let them come to me and I cuddle them. My daughter does it too and I have to watch her closely. Don’t feel bad I fell off a bus too. I fell backward down the steps when I was on a tour bus in Germany and I was carrying my camera and I accidentally snapped a picture (this was in the days before digital) I have the snapshot in my Germany photo album as a reminder. I loved Charlott’es WEb as well even though it made me bawl my eyes out as a kid. Thanks for sharing all this fun stuff!
What a fantastic post. I am not sure I would want my family to tell things about me. lol I’m sure my kids could tell some funny stories… It’s funny that as kids we repeat the things we hear even thought we don’t know what they mean. 🙂

This selection of titles covers some of the best and most guffaw-inducing moments out there, whether it be a talk about the birds and the bees, lying to mom, or perhaps something even a bit more weird…
