Evernight (Evernight, Book 1)Summary (from Goodreads)
Bianca wants to escape.

She’s been uprooted from her small hometown and enrolled at Evernight Academy, an eerie Gothic boarding school where the students are somehow too perfect: smart, sleek, and almost predatory. Bianca knows she doesn’t fit in.

Then she meets Lucas. He’s not the “Evernight type” either, and he likes it that way. Lucas ignores the rules, stands up to the snobs, and warns Bianca to be careful—even when it comes to caring about him.

“I couldn’t stand it if they took it out on you,” he tells Bianca, “and eventually they would.”

But the connection between Bianca and Lucas can’t be denied. Bianca will risk anything to be with Lucas, but dark secrets are fated to tear them apart . . . and to make Bianca question everything she’s ever believed.

My review:

I really, Really enjoyed this book! At first I did not know what it was about, ( I had not heard of this series before) So I was just following along enjoying where the story was going and then I learned it was about vampires.

This story was so interesting from start to finish. It was unique and fast paced and well written. I really liked this take on vampires and the evernight academy. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series, bc I am dying to know more of its secrets!

The one thing that bugged me though was that vampires were never mentioned until you learned pretty far into the book that it was a school for vampires, and then all of a sudden the main character knew all about vampires and had known her whole life. But there were no clues about her knowing her parents were vampires or even about them being different or acting strange. I didnt like that there were no clues and it kind of just flew out of no where.

But other than that I really liked this book! Definitely check this series out, I cant wait for the 2nd book.

4.5/5 Gavels.

  1. My biggest issue with this book was that they didn’t even mention it was a school for vampires until halfway through! Other than that, I did enjoy it. It was a good story:)

  2. I actually really liked that they kept so many things a secret. It was so different from most YA novels. Plus, I don’t usually read vampire stories so I might not have picked it up if I had known that that was what it was. I absolutely loved the whole series! 🙂

  3. Great Review. Another series to add to my ever growing, almost unmanageable TBR list 🙂
I didn’t think that I had ever heard of this series until I went to my Goodreads account to add the book to my TBR shelf. I actually remember reading a short story about Evernight in the compilation book Immortal: Love Stories With Bite!

  4. I really loved this series and I have tried to spread the word for her but most people in my circle of friends didn’t care for them…odd
