{Mini Review+Excerpt+Giveaway} Gallowglass by Jennifer Allis Provost

{Mini Review+Excerpt+Giveaway} Gallowglass by Jennifer Allis Provost

Gallowglass is the first book in the adult paranormal romance series of the same name by author Jennifer Allis Provost. I enjoyed Gallowglass and I am excited to continue on with the series. I found this one to be a bit slow in parts, but the characters and the story line, along with the promise of where the series can go was enough to keep me interested in the story the whole time. This book felt more like a foundational book for the series. I think with the foundation to the story laid out, the rest of the books will be even better for me. There were so many elements that I really enjoyed in Gallowglass so I am going to quickly list the things I loved, and then I would encourage you to check out the excerpt above if you think this is the type of book that would interest you. I loved the setting. I have always wanted to visit Scotland, and I adore books that take place there. I… Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} When Danger Bites by Heather Long

{Review+Giveaway} When Danger Bites by Heather Long

When Danger Bites by Heather Long is the first book in the Bravo Team WOLF series. I enjoyed this book. It has been awhile since I have read an adult paranormal romance, and I forgot how much I enjoy them. When Danger Bites was a good start to the series, but it kind of felt like there was a lot of build up, and a lot of working up to the romance in this one. Overall, I liked the story, but I felt like the romance moved a little bit too slow for my liking. When Danger Bites is the story of Kat and Jax. I really, really loved Kat and Jax. I was rooting for them pretty much from the beginning, which is why I think I wanted them to get together a little faster. Because it was so clear to me they are dynamite together. Kat is sent in to join a special ops team and to figure out what is going on with them, and Jax is… Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} Remembrance by Heather Hildenbrand @HeatherHildenbr

{Review+Giveaway} Remembrance by Heather Hildenbrand @HeatherHildenbr

Remembrance is the first book in the new adult paranormal romance Heart Lines series by Heather Hildenbrand. The Heart Lines series is a spin-off of Heather’s Dirty Blood series and while it’s more fun to come in already knowing a bit about these characters, you do NOT have to read Dirty Blood first. You can just jump in here! I loved heather’s Dirty Blood series. It is hands down my very favorite werewolves series. I think it is the best one out there! So when I heard she was going to come out with a new spin off, I was excited. And then I heard that the series was going to be about my very favorite character from the Dirty Blood series…Alex! I heart the heck out of Alex. I actually shipped him really hard throughout the Dirty Blood series. Remembrance is Alex and Sam’s story, or the start to it, and I loved every single second of it. Seriously, I could not turn the pages fast enough. Even though… Read more »

{Review} RENEGADE DRAGON by Lolita Lopez

{Review} RENEGADE DRAGON by Lolita Lopez

Renegade Dragon is the fourth book in the Dragon Heat series by Lolita Lopez. The Dragon Heat series is an adult paranormal romance series. This was the first book I have read from this series, and I think that might have been a mistake. I wasn’t lost of anything, and I do believe that each of the books can be read as a standalone, however; I think I would have enjoyed the story more if I was not new to the world. I liked the idea of Nike protecting a special apple tree, but again I am not sure if this is a new addition to the series or if this tree and the apples played a role in previous stories. It seemed to be very very important but I couldn’t tell what the background was. I really liked Niko, even though he was a little overbearing at time. Act first explain later, which would have really gotten on my nerves. Nike and Eris are sucked into a very quickly… Read more »

{Review+Excerpt+Giveaway} Awaken by Grace White

{Review+Excerpt+Giveaway} Awaken by Grace White

*Mini Review* Awaken is Book #1 in a brand new mature Y/NA paranormal romance series, by Grace White. The series is called the Lilituria Prophecy, and it is a really great start to the series. This is a hard review for me to write spoiler free, so I am going to do a mini review and then share an excerpt with you. I think Awaken is a good start to what looks to be a really interesting series. I think lovers of Paranormal romance will really respond positively to this book and series. And I have to say, I really love the cover. I can’t wait to see what the cover for the next book in the series looks like. Daiya is such an interesting character. And for the record, I mean interesting the best possible way, not the I don’t know what else to say and she is weird way. Her powers are unique and different. A little bit like a succubus, but not exactly. She fears turning 18… Read more »

{ARC Review} Hunted by the Dragon by Michelle M. Pillow

{ARC Review} Hunted by the Dragon by Michelle M. Pillow

Hunted by the Dragon  is the fourth book in the adult paranormal (sci fi?) series, Captured by a Dragon-Shifter by Michelle M. Pillow. I have only read one book by Michelle in the past- Love Potions, and it was a very different kind of story. So while I didn’t love Hunted by the Dragon as much as I loved Love Potions (which had hot scottish warlocks…umm hello?!) I did really enjoy it. It is about a race of dragon shifters that are from another planet. They have to come to earth to find their mates in human women, because their race doesn’t have very many women. I came into this series a little late, and while I had no problem following the storyline, I do think I would have benefited from reading the first three books in the series. I think it would have given me some more context into the history of the dragon shifters and their world. Hunted by the Dragon takes place primarily on earth, so I still don’t… Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} Playing the Witch’s Game by Zoe Forward @entangledpub @AuthorZForward

{Review+Giveaway} Playing the Witch’s Game by Zoe Forward @entangledpub @AuthorZForward

Playing the Witch’s Game is an adult paranormal fantasy, and it it s the third book in the Keepers of the Veil series by Zoe Forward. Each of the books in the series can be read as standalones, but I wish that I had read each of the books in order. This was the first book in the series that I have read, and while I loved it, I think I would have enjoyed it even more if I had some more familiarity with the backstory on the witches and the world. Nonetheless, this was a great book. If you are a fan of romances that happen to be paranormal in nature and not the other way around, you will totally dig this story. It is told in dual narrative between Jen and Nickolai, which worked out great to advance the story. I loved seeing inside Nick’s head, and I think I enjoyed his chapters more than Jen’s. He is exactly my kind of paranormal book boyfriend. Sweet but totally… Read more »

{Guest Post+Review+Giveaway} Crimson Cove by @EdenButler_

{Guest Post+Review+Giveaway} Crimson Cove by @EdenButler_

The Myth of Writer’s Block By Eden Butler Last weekend George R.R. Martin announced to his LiveJournal followers that he’d missed both his Halloween and end of the year deadlines for Winds of Winter, the latest installment of his Song of Ice and Fire series. He said, in part, that the sixth season of the HBO television show based on the books may or may not spoil WoW. Then he eluded to the fact that he had been “blocked” from writing and as a result revised and rewrote much of his manuscript. This announcement unleashed a massive response from unhappy readers, particularly those who’d anticipated the latest in what has admittedly been a slow-to-update series, but one that has absolutely been worth the wait. To those upset over the announcement, I quote Neil Gaiman on a post he made a few years back: People are not machines. Writers and artists aren’t machines […] For me, I would rather read a good book, from a contented author. I don’t really care what… Read more »

{Review} Coercion complete series by Chloe Cole @_ChristineBell

{Review} Coercion complete series by Chloe Cole @_ChristineBell

Coercion is a serial series that makes up books 1-3 in the Montana Dragons series by Chloe Cole, who is the alter ego to NY Times best selling author, Christine Bell. The Montana Drags series is a paranormal romance series that follows two different dragons. (Where do they live, I wonder? Could it be Montana??) Books 1-3 are Drake’s story and books 4-6 are Etienne’s story. I liked that this serial romance was split into two sub parts like that. I grabbed Coercion book 1 because it was free on amazon. (Still is! Grab it HERE) And when I finished reading that I immediately bought the complete Coercion set. (it was only 99 cents!! Such a deal!) Willa is a wolf shifter that was jilted by the Alpha in her pack. That whole story has an entire spin off series, in case you are interested. But You don’t need to read it to enjoy and understand this series. Willa’s parents leave the pack and are looking for allies to get… Read more »
