{Review+Kindle Giveaway} Chase the Dark by @AnnetteMMarie @Barclay_PR #BingeRead

Discover the World of the Steel & Stone Series by Annette Marie In CHASE THE DARK… Victoria Aveyard’s Red Queen meets Tahereh Mafi’s Shatter Me in CHASE THE DARK, the first book in the addictive Amazon best-selling YA urban fantasy Steel & Stone series. All Piper wants is to be a Consul, a keeper of the peace between humans and daemons. When she’s framed for a treasonous crime, she knows she’s dead on her own, but there’s no one she can trust except two seriously hot—and equally untrustworthy—daemons. People are raving about the Steel & Stone series!  I have found my ‘dream’ book! Let’s make sure I have my checklist right and what I LOVED about this book: Kick ass female = check. Fantasy world = check. Hot leading man = double check and increasing in this case. Action, adventurous, with more kicking-ass = CHECK. Creatures = dragons, incubus then yes check. O yes…Dragons anyone?? = check. – Pandora’s Opened Box Chase the Dark is the first book in the… Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} Eerie by C.M. McCoy @eerie_o

{Review+Giveaway} Eerie by C.M. McCoy @eerie_o

Eerie is the first book in a new adult paranormal series, by the same name, by C.M. McCoy. I think this is a must read series for any fans of paranormal romances. It has everything I love in my paranormal reads, a great mixture of interesting creatures, a para science school, awesome characters and an even better romances. In a world where paranormals exist along side people, and sometimes they know about them and sometimes they don’t. (I found that to be a little confusing. at first, it didn’t seem like the people in Halie’s hometown knew about paranormal creatures, but all of hte new students- even the geology students and pre-med students at her university did seem to know, and no one thought it was out of the ordinary. So I guess you have to be in the know…to know.) One of my favorite aspects of Eerie is the relationship between Asher and Halie, and Fin and Halie. Yes, there is a love triangle in this book. (and no… Read more »

{Giveaway} My Four Year #Blogoversary #Giveaway!

{Giveaway} My Four Year #Blogoversary #Giveaway!

I can hardly believe that it has been over 4 years since I started blogging. I decided to make my official blogoversary date April 2. I technically started blogging in February of 2011 but I didn’t really fully commit and start posting regularly until April 2. I have come such a long way in the past 4 years. When I started back in 2011 I was in my first year of law school. Since then I have graduated, passed the bar exam and I am an attorney now. (That is still kind of crazy to me.) I found a job that I love, and my blog has been there with me every step of the way. When I first started my blog, I had no idea about indie or self published authors, and in the past 4 years I have discovered some of my favorite authors were indies! I have made so many great friends in bloggers and authors, and I want to share some of it with you. I… Read more »

Bout of Books Read-A-Thon- Day 2 Summary

Bout of Books Read-A-Thon- Day 2 Summary

Well, day two of the read-a-thon is almost done and today was busier than expected too! When will I just get a free day to relax and read? I was only supposed to have one dentist appointment and a haircut today. Instead, my appointments got mixed up and I ended up spending over 4 hours in two different dentist offices and drove all over the place. Squeeze in packing time and book time got bumped to the back burner. I only got 1/2 of a book read! I’m going to read some more before bed but I wanted to get my summary post up before midnight, so whatever I read past 10:30 pm will just go onto my totals for tomorrow. 8/22Number of books I’ve read today: 1/2 of a bookName of books completed today: half of Gypsy KnightsNumber of pages read today: about 150Total number of pages read: 452Total number of books I’ve read: 1.5 booksTime spent reading today: 1.5 hoursToday #insixwords: frustrating, busy, annoying, hectic, stressful, busy I… Read more »

In My Mailbox (7)

In My Mailbox (7)

In My Mailbox (6) In My Mailbox was inspired by Alea at Pop Culture Junkie and created by Kristi at The Story Siren.     Last week I told you that I was on a book buying ban, and that you would not be seeing anymore “bought” books for a while. Well….  This week I have some “bought” books. But they were on a big sale and they were from a gift card so I didn’t spend any of my savings money, so it was not too big of a break. But it was still kind of cheating. Bad Michelle! They are all e-books and they were all 2.99 or less. (most were .99!) For Review: (both from NetGalley) Misfit by Jon Skovron Deviant by Adrian McKinty    Bought: (all ebooks for kindle)   The Fallen Star by Jessica Sorensen The Witches of Santa Anna (books #1-7) by Lauren Barnholdt   Denial (The Witches of Santa Anna #8) by Lauren Barnholdt Suspicion (The Witches of Santa Anna #9) by Lauren Barnholdt … Read more »
