{Release Day Review+Giveaway} Duels and Deception by @CindyAnstey @Swoonreads

{Release Day Review+Giveaway} Duels and Deception by @CindyAnstey @Swoonreads

Cindy Anstey has done it again! Love, Lies and Spies was one of my favorite books of 2016. And now Duels and Deception is one of my favorite reads of 2017! I just love Cindy’s books. Duels and Deception is a companion novel, set in the same time period as Love Lies and Spies. So while you do not need to read Love Lies and Spies to understand Duels and Deception, both of these books are seriously so good that you need to read both. Trust me on that one! Duels and Deception is a young adult historical romance by Cindy Anstey. Young Adult historical is a genre that I don’t read too much of…not because I don’t enjoy it. When it is is well done, I love it. But I am super picky when it comes to the writing and world building in my historical books. And Cindy Anstey has the historical writing IT FACTOR in spades. I felt like I was reading a young adult Oscar Wilde. Cindy is… Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} Cage of Darkness by Jennifer Anne Davis @AuthorJennifer

{Review+Giveaway} Cage of Darkness by Jennifer Anne Davis @AuthorJennifer

*Please note: This is a series that must be read in order. If you are new to this fantastic series, check out the first book, Cage of Deceit!* Cage of Darkness by Jennifer Anne Davis is the second in a young adult series called the Reign of Secrets series. It is a young adult fantasy series that totally rocked my world! The first book, Cage of Deceit was my favorite books of 2015. And it continues to be one of my favorite fantasy series I have ever read. It is seriously that good. As soon as I finished the first book, I was dying and I do mean dying to get my hands on the second book. So as soon as I got an advanced copy of Cage of Darkness, I immediately went on a binge read fest. I re-read book 1, and I loved it just as much as the first time reading it. And then I dove directly into book two. I loved the disclaimer that she put on page… Read more »

{Review+Teasers+ Giveaway} The Opposite of You by Rachel Higginson @Mywritesdntbite

{Review+Teasers+ Giveaway} The Opposite of You by Rachel Higginson @Mywritesdntbite

The Opposite of You is the first book in the adult contemporary romance Opposites Attract series by Rachel Higginson. I flippin’ LOVED this book. It is about time I had a 5 star contemporary read and this one earned every bit of those 5 stars. It is so excellent that I want to pick it up and read it again…immediately. You know when you love a book so much you immediately want to read other books like it? Well, The Opposite of You did that to me. I am now craving a great fight/bantering dynamic, so leave me your best new adult/adult recs below. The Opposite of You is told entirely from Vera’s point of view. Vera is a trained culinary chef, a very talented one at that, but because of a troubled past she doesn’t feel like she will ever be able to have her own kitchen. So she opens up Foodie the food truck to start her dream of doing upscale comfort food. I totally want Foodie to be real… Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} Traveler by @LE_DeLano @SwoonReads

{Review+Giveaway} Traveler by @LE_DeLano @SwoonReads

Traveler is the first book in the young adult science fiction/time travel series by the same name from author L. E. Delano. This is L. E. Delano’s first book. I really loved this story. I found it to be a really cool concept that I think will be even more fleshed out in the upcoming books. So you can imagine my surprise when I head over to goodreads and I start seeing some two star reviews. I was shocked in fact. But that just goes to show that different books will work out differently for different people. Traveler is the story of Jessa and Finn. And bear with me, because while this review is not necessarily spoilery, it does explain the concept of the book because I think the concept is so freakin’ cool! Jessa is just this normal girl until the guy that she has been seeing in all of her dreams shows up in real life and tells her that she is in danger. And things are just… Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} Operation Prom Date by @CindiMadsen @EntangledTeen

{Review+Giveaway} Operation Prom Date by @CindiMadsen @EntangledTeen

Operation Prom Date is a young adult contemporary romance by author Cindi Madsen. I have read some of Cindi’s adult romances and I really enjoyed them. They were fun and flirty so I was really excited when I saw she was coming out with a young adult romance. And even more excited when it was called the Tactics in Flirting series. Operation Prom Date is the first book in the Tactics in Flirting series. And I have to tell you…I flippin’ LOVED this book. It was so cute. I felt like my face was going to hurt after because I was smiling so much. Operation Prom Date had so many elements in that I love. It had a plot to get a guy that involved using another guy, it had a great friends to more storyline, and it has tons of geeky fandom references! Kate and Cooper are the two main characters in this story, and Operation Prom Date is told in dual narrative between their points of views. What… Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} Remembrance by Heather Hildenbrand @HeatherHildenbr

{Review+Giveaway} Remembrance by Heather Hildenbrand @HeatherHildenbr

Remembrance is the first book in the new adult paranormal romance Heart Lines series by Heather Hildenbrand. The Heart Lines series is a spin-off of Heather’s Dirty Blood series and while it’s more fun to come in already knowing a bit about these characters, you do NOT have to read Dirty Blood first. You can just jump in here! I loved heather’s Dirty Blood series. It is hands down my very favorite werewolves series. I think it is the best one out there! So when I heard she was going to come out with a new spin off, I was excited. And then I heard that the series was going to be about my very favorite character from the Dirty Blood series…Alex! I heart the heck out of Alex. I actually shipped him really hard throughout the Dirty Blood series. Remembrance is Alex and Sam’s story, or the start to it, and I loved every single second of it. Seriously, I could not turn the pages fast enough. Even though… Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} The Cad and the Co-Ed by Penny Reid & @LHCosway @ReidRomance

{Review+Giveaway} The Cad and the Co-Ed by Penny Reid & @LHCosway @ReidRomance

You can see my review of books 1 & 2 here: The Hooker and the Hermit (5 stars) The Player and the Pixie (5 stars) The Cad and the Co-Ed is the third book in the Rugby series by Penny Reid and LH Cosway. I am just going to say it…The rugby series is my favorite sports romance series of all time! Which should come as no surprise to any of you because I think by now you know I have a not so mild obsession with everything Penny Reid (and now LH Cosway) writes. Each of the books in the rugby series can be read as standalones and they each follow a a different character, but trust me when I tell you this, you are going to want to read all of the books in this series. So you might as well read them in order. They are all so stupendously wonderful, and they each follow a different member of the rugby team. Please don’t make me pick my… Read more »

{ARC Review+Giveaway} Beauty of the Beast by @RachelLDemeter

{ARC Review+Giveaway} Beauty of the Beast by @RachelLDemeter

Beauty of the Beast is the first book in the new adult Fairy Tale retellings series by Rachel Demeter. I loved Beauty of the Beast. Totally and completely loved this book. I have been really into retellings lately, and this is a great one. The blurb claims it is “Perfect for fans of Beauty and the Beast and The Phantom of the Opera” and I can totally see that! This is a dark and gothic retelling, so it is not going to be light and fluffy, but it is so heartbreakingly romantic. I just loved seeing Isabelle and Adam. Isabelle is taking care of her sick father and Adam is a Prince and also the sole survivor of a raid on his castle when he was younger. He now lives in seculsion and when Isabelle and her father happen upon his castle she trades herself to save her father and that is really where our story starts. This story made me super emotional. Both happy and sad emotions. There are two… Read more »
