{Review} Fly With Me by @ChanelCleeton @BerkleyRomance

Fly With Me is the first book in the new adult contemporary romance series, called Wild Aces, by Chanel Cleeton. Fly With Me was my first experience with a Chanel Cleeton book, and I was super excited to read it for many reasons. Chanel is a fellow law school survivor, I have a few of her books on my TBR because they all sound so good, and I was really in the mood for a swoony romance, and I have heard she is the go to author for that. So I grabbed Fly With Me and dug right in. Flash forward to three hours later and I am so engrossed in Noah and Jordan’s story. I finished this book and had no idea how much time had passed. I went into my own little world and didn’t resurface until I had no more pages to turn. (and if I didn’t have a pesky job getting in the way, I would have immediately grabbed book 2!) Fly with Me was such a satisfying… Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} Trying Sophie by @Rebecca_Norinne

{Review+Giveaway} Trying Sophie by @Rebecca_Norinne

Trying Sophie is the first book in the adult contemporary sports romance, Dubline Rugby series by author Rebecca Norinne. I have never read any of Rebecca’s books, but I can’t pass up a book set in Dublin with Rugby players. One of my favorite sports romance series of all time features a rugby team (by L.H. Cosway & Penny Reid) so I couldn’t pass up the first book in a new rugby romance series. And I am super glad that I read Trying Sophie. This was a spicy and sweet sports romance that gave me all the feels and made me super happy while reading it. Trying Sophie is told in dual narrative between Sophie and Declan’s points of view. I loved this aspect of the story. I think it works extremely well in a contemporary romance because it gives you the opportunity to really get to know each character. I love seeing Declan’s motivations, backstory and feelings. I loved seeing Sophie’s too but I feel sometimes I like seeing… Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} Hit the Spot by J. Daniels @JDanielsbooks @ForeverRomance

{Review+Giveaway} Hit the Spot by J. Daniels @JDanielsbooks @ForeverRomance

Hit the Spot is the second book in the contemporary romance series, Dirty Deeds by author J. Daniels.I freakin’ loved Four Letter Word, the first book in the series. In fact, Four Letter Word easily makes my favorite books of 2016 list. Brian and Sydney are explosive and hilarious and fantastic together. So I knew that I needed, not wanted, NEEDED to read Hit the Spot when it came out. I loved Jamie from Four Letter Word. I loved how determined he was to win over Legs, I mean, Tori. Hit the Spot can be read as a standalone but I really recommend reading Four Letter Word first. I am so hooked on this series. J. Daniels is a new favorite author of mine, after reading just two of her books.  She drew me into this story so much. She has a way of making a romance seem dirty and sweet at the same time. It is something you have to read to understand. She writes about fantastically flawed and… Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} Everything for Her by @_AlexaRiley @CarinaPress

{Review+Giveaway} Everything for Her by @_AlexaRiley @CarinaPress

Everything For Her is the first book in the adult romance, For Her series by Alexa Riley. Alexa Riley is a romance author duo that I am completely loving! Everything for Her is perfect for fans of swoony romances with a side of tasteful cheese. If you are not a fan of overly romantic and a bit cheesy romances, you might find Everything for Her a bit too sweet. I didn’t. I really enjoyed this book. I thought Oz was swoony in all the right ways. I can’t wait to see what Alexa Riley has in store for us next. Everything for Her is told in dual narrative between Oz and Mallory. It is really interesting because right off the bat Oz is quite taken with Mallory. Some might even say he is obsessed with her. And I have to say, he wears obsession well. Very well. (which is not something I would say about most people.) There is a case of Insta-love in Everything for Her but I… Read more »

{Mini Review+Excerpt+Giveaway} A Promise Made by Anissa Garcia @AnissaGAuthor

{Mini Review+Excerpt+Giveaway} A Promise Made by Anissa Garcia @AnissaGAuthor

A Promise Made is the second book in the Promise series by Anissa Garcia. The Promise series are adult contemporary romances. I never had the chance to read A Promise Kept, book one in the series, but I had no problem following along with Josh’s story. I thought it was a cute romance. A little heavy on the cheese, but cute nonetheless. I think lovers of romantic romances will enjoy this one. I have to say I ended up liking Jose wayy more than I liked Marla. In fact, I found Marla to be a little annoying, which is why I didn’t love this book as much as I wanted to. I felt like Jose was so nice to Marla every step of the way, and all she did was fight him, regardless of everything he was doing for her and to woo her. It didn’t bug me at first, but after a while, I just wanted to tell her to snap out of it and start being nicer to… Read more »

{Review+Dream Cast+Giveaway} TOO HOT TO HANDLE by Tessa Bailey @mstessabailey @ForeverRomance

{Review+Dream Cast+Giveaway} TOO HOT TO HANDLE by Tessa Bailey @mstessabailey @ForeverRomance

Check out Who Tessa pictured as Rita and Jasper. (I completely approve by the way!!) When I cast TOO HOT TO HANDLE in my head (and on my Pinterest boards o’course!) I used a more introverted version of Emilia Clarke as Rita Clarkson. All the shiny effervesce and beauty of a brunette Emilia, with more dark makeup and clothing. This is the picture I sent to my editor when casting for the cover, because I think it captures Rita’s personality: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/508132770433476759/ As for Jasper, he is described in the book as a young, revamped Matthew McConaughey and I think his personality totally matches that of a young carefree (non naked bongo playing) version of the actor. I promise he doesn’t say “alright, alright, alright,” but he does have that cool guy, ladies love me spirit. Scott Porter from Hart of Dixie would be my choice to play Jasper in a film J https://www.pinterest.com/pin/508132770433788636/ Sheesh! This book is all that the title promises and more. Too Hot to Handles is the… Read more »

{Mini Review+Excerpt+Giveaway} MAYBE THIS TIME by @JenniferSnow18 @ForeverRomance

{Mini Review+Excerpt+Giveaway} MAYBE THIS TIME by @JenniferSnow18 @ForeverRomance

Maybe this time is the second book in the Colorado Ice series by Jennifer Snow. The Colorado Ice series is an adult contemporary sports romance. This is the first book I read in this series, and while it can be read as a standalone and I had no problem following along, I do think this would be best enjoyed in order. Maybe this Time is a book that has elements outside of my comfort zone, but I am so so glad I decided to read it. I knew I would love the hockey player aspect of the story, but divorce and bitter divorcees are not really something I gravitate towards in my romances. Maybe that is rude of me, (which I don’t mean it to be!) it is just not something I can really relate to and it brings a whole separate set of baggage that I don’t really have the experience to connect with the characters. But I do love a sports romance and I love a sweet second… Read more »

{Review} Love and Fat-Free Cheese by Crissy Sharp @crissydsharp @SweetwaterBooks

{Review} Love and Fat-Free Cheese by Crissy Sharp @crissydsharp @SweetwaterBooks

“Fat-free cheese is okay–unless you’ve tasted real cheese.” This line always cracks me up. I don’t know what it is about it, but something about the title of this book and starting off your summary with that very true and hilarious line drew me in. I am not afraid to admit that I picked up this book for review just based on that line alone. And I am so happy that I did. Love and Fat-Free Cheese was a hilarious and en aging read. I thoroughly enjoyed this one. Cheese lovers will delight over the cheese references, so grab a pizza, or a grilled cheese or a mac and cheese and sit down to enjoy Love and Fat-Free Cheese. (not to mention it has a pretty goo thriller element as well.) Love and Fat-Free Cheese is a romanctic comedy thriller by author Crissy Sharp. Calling a book both a romantic comedy and a thriller feels a little strange to combine, but in this case it really worked. I loved both… Read more »
