{ARC Review+Giveaway} Amber & Dusk by @LyraSelene

{ARC Review+Giveaway} Amber & Dusk by @LyraSelene

Amber & Dusk is a young adult fantasy romance by author Lyra Selene. Amber & Dusk is a novel that features awesome secrets and intrigue, a really cool world setup, and characters that pull you in. Honestly, I loved pretty much everything about this novel. I really hope there is going to be a sequel. I wasn’t sure by the ending of Amber & Dusk if there would be one or not. I think there is certainly room for one. We had a few things that can be expanded on, and that were not completely wrapped up, so I am holding out for for another book. I need more! Lyra Selene did such a fantastic job with her characters and world building. This was a book that I just kept getting more and more excited about, the more I read it. It is a fantasy that I will be recommending to everyone as soon as it is released at the end of this month! You need to read Amber &… Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} Hear the Wolves by Victoria Scott @AuthorVScott @Scholastic ‏

{Review+Giveaway} Hear the Wolves by Victoria Scott @AuthorVScott @Scholastic ‏

Hear the Wolves is a middle grad/young adult crossover by Victoria Scott. I have read each and every one of Victoria’s books and I have loved them all. Hear the Wolves is so different than all of her previous books. I loved this one too, but I think what I loved most about it was how different it was. Victoria has a way with words. I love how she tells a story, whether it is a romance, a paranormal or something totally creepy and eerily realistic, she pulls the reader in, in a way few authors have managed to consistently do. I just love her books. Sloan, her father, and her sister live in a tiny and remote Alaskan town. Think one step ahead of those Alaskan bush people. There is a town and store, but just barely. And the wolves outnumber the people in the town. By a lot. Sloan suffered a terrible accident when she was younger and it has left deep emotional scars. She is terrified to… Read more »

{ARC Review+Giveaway} It’s All Your Fault by Paul Rudnick

{ARC Review+Giveaway} It’s All Your Fault by Paul Rudnick

It’s All Your Fault by Paul Rudnick is a young adult contemporary novel that will have you laughing your butt off. Leave all of your political agendas, and social views behind and sit back for a couple of hours of really witty dialogue, and pure irreverent hilarity. I thoroughly enjoyed Caitlin and her cousin Heller’s whirlwind weekend. The end was surprisingly sweet too. It’s All Your Fault is a very fun book. You have to put your sensitivities aside, and just let yourself go with it. If you do, I think you will have a blast with It’s All Your Fault. Paul Rudnick is one funny dude. It’s All Your Fault is the story of what happens when you mix a very sheltered, very religious “good girl” with her very famous, very do as you please, try everything once cousin. Caitlin and Heller used to be close when they were younger but they had a falling out over a big (and mysterious) event in their past. You eventually find out… Read more »

{ARC Review+Giveaway} Dead Upon a Time by Elizabeth Paulson @Scholastic

{ARC Review+Giveaway} Dead Upon a Time by Elizabeth Paulson @Scholastic

Dead Upon A Time is set in a fairy tale world that is a little darker and a little more twisted than the fairy tales we all remember as kids. And in this world, children are being taken and tortured in creepy ways. I liked (and maybe liked is the wrong word because that makes me sound kind of sadistic) that the children were each tortured in a unique way to their particular story. One was forced to eat a poison apple over and over again, others were cooked alive, etc. Dead Upon a Time is the story of Jack and Kate, two outcasts in the village that embark on a quest to save the children, and Kate’s grandmother. Dead Upon a Time is a very quick read that I think would appeal to a younger crowd of young adult readers as well as older readers who are fans of grimm brothers, once upon a time series, and twisted fairy tale re-tellings. I loved the interplay in Elizabeth Paulson’s world… Read more »
