{ARC Review} FIGHTING FOR LOVE by Kelly Elliott @author_kelly @ReadLoveswept

Fighting for Love is the second book in the contemporary romance series, called Boston Love by Kelly Elliott. Each of the books can be read as standalones. Fighting For Love is my first book in the series, and I had no problem following and enjoying the story. If you like fun and relatively low drama romances, Fighting For Love is a great book for you to check out. I really liked this one, and I can’t wait to read more from Kelly Elliott. This was the perfect feel good read. Fighting For Love is the story of Rory and Finn. Finn is a firefighter and Rory is a law school graduate hoping to make her way as a new lawyer. (so it was really easy for me to put myself in her shoes…I wonder why. And also, does that mean I get to keep Finn for myself?? Please say yes Kelly!) Finn and Rory and such a great match, and  what I loved most about them was how genuine they… Read more »

{Review} Hooked by @BrendaRothert @LovestruckEP

{Review} Hooked by @BrendaRothert @LovestruckEP

Hooked is an adult contemporary sports romance by author Brenda Rothert. I love a good sports romance but the tag line for this book is what hooked me in. 😉 “a sultry novel featuring a brooding NHL player who’s hell on skates—and the no-nonsense woman who forces him to clean up his act.” I love a good brooding male character and a no nonsense woman. Hooked was right up my alley for a good whipping into shape romance. I got such a kick out of Miranda and Jake. Jake needed a Miranda in his life badly. Hooked is the first book I have read by Brenda, but it certainly will not be the last. I really liked Hooked. Miranda made me snort, laugh out loud and chuckle non-stop throughout Hooked. I just loved her quick comebacks. She seemed to be the only one to knock Jake off his game. And he desperately needed that in his life. He was quick on his way to being a jerkwad, and we can’t… Read more »

{Review} Hooked on Love by @JennieMarts @LovestruckEP

Hooked on Love is the second book in the adult contemporary romance series, Cotton Creek by Jennie Marts. I didn’t even know this book was part of a series, and if it was part of a series that it was the second book in the series. Needless to say, I never read the first book but I was not lost in the slightest. Hooked on Love reads as a complete standalone and I would have no problem recommending it as the first book for readers. I really enjoyed Hooked on Love. Even though I am yearning for cooler weather to start rolling in, this book made me reminded me of summer time. Hooked on Love is told in dual narrative between Sully (AKA Sullivan) and Avery. I loved the dual narrative story telling for this book. Getting into Sully’s head was really the key to telling a great story in this case. Plus, he was just so darn cute. I love that he is this rugged outdoor fishing expert, but… Read more »

{ARC Review+Giveaway} The Right Kind of Guy by Kerri-Leigh Grady @kerrileighgrady

{ARC Review+Giveaway} The Right Kind of Guy by Kerri-Leigh Grady @kerrileighgrady

The Right Kind of Guy is part of the What Happens in Vegas series by Kerri-Leigh Grady. This is book 17 in the series. I read book 16 (Hot on His Heels) and to be honest I didn’t love it. But each of the books are written by different authors and the only common denominator between them is that they all take place in Vegas, so i thought what the heck. Let’s give this one a try. And I am glad I did. The summary sounded amusing, and it was. I liked this one more than the last book in the series, but it was only a pretty good read. It didn’t make me leap for joy, but I did enjoy it. The Right Kind of Guy initially intrigued me because it takes place in a romance writer’s convention and the main character is a decently popular romance author, who doesn’t believe in real life sweep your off your feet romances. I knew right then and there I had to… Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} Just one Week by @AliceGaines @LoveStruckEP @entangledpub

Just one Week is an adult contemporary romance by Alice Gaines. I love a good brother’s best friend forbidden romance, and this is a really cute one. (Plus, the main character’s name is Michelle, so I twas easy for me to put myself in her shoes and imagine me in her place. Just sayin’) Just one Week is told in dual narrative between Michelle and Alex, her brother’s best friend, and her childhood protector. But they had a huge falling out eight years ago, and since then Michelle has never returned to town. I was interested to see what the big falling out what, and in the end this turned out to be a very satisfying sweet romance. I really enjoyed Michelle and Alex. Michelle is the right amount of sweet with a hint of sass to keep her entertaining, and Alex is such a great guy. It is so clear that he always fills the role of protector in all of his relationships in life. I think that is… Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} The Best Friend Bargain by @RobinBielman @entangledpub

The Best Friend Bargain is the third book in the adult contemporary romance Kisses in the Sand series by Robin Bielman. I read the first book in the series, Keeping Mr. Right Now and I really enjoyed it. I missed the second book in the series, but that is ok because while each of the books are set in the same world, they each work really well as standalones. The Best Friend Bargain is a fun, quick little read that will put a smile on your face. The Best Friend Bargain is told in dual narrative between Olivia and her best friend Danny. I’m not sure why, but when I originally read the summary, I thought this was going to be a fake marriage/relationship/fake baby turned real type of book, but I was wrong. This is a very real marriage and baby book. It took me a little by surprise when I 1) found out that Olivia was actually pregnant, by someone other than Danny and she really wanted to marry… Read more »

{Review} Random Acts of Marriage by Boone Brux

{Review} Random Acts of Marriage by Boone Brux

Random Acts of Marriage is the second book in the adult contemporary romance series, called Wedding Favors, by Boone Brux. The books in the Wedding Favors series can each be read as standalones, and I had no problem jumping in with book two. In fact, I was surprised to learn that this was part of a series, and even more surprised to learn that the couple from the first book was Dani and Jamie, because of certain events that took place in Random Acts of Marriage. Either way, Random Acts of Marriage was a quick fun read that left me feeling slightly warmer than lukewarm. Random Acts of Marriage is the story of overly uptight Kinni and go with the flow Price. I liked the opposites attract angle of the story, and I really enjoyed Price. Kinni seemed a bit over the top, even for me. The idea behind the story is that as a wedding favor, the bride asks Kinni to just let loose and have some fun in… Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} Totally, Sweetly Irrevocably by @KiraArcherbooks @entangledpub

Totally, Sweetly Irrevocably is the second book in the Sweet Love series by Kira Archer. The Sweet Love series is a series of standalone romantic comedies. I never read the first book, so I am not sure how much over lap there really is in the series, but Totally, Sweetly Irrevocably read as a standalone. I wasn’t lost or confused at any point. I loved this book. It put a big smile on my face. I loved the dichotomy between crazy Gina and orderly Rick. Gina blows into Rick’s neatly organized life like a hurricane. She really is a force of nature, and it cracked me up watching Rick at first try to tame her, and finally just try to go with it. I felt like I could see his jaw ticking while he was dealing with her a few times. I loved it. Rick first meets Gina because he is called in to investigate a peeping tom, who turns out to be Gina. Who is hosting her own little… Read more »

{ARC Review} Driven to Temptation by Melia Alexander

{ARC Review} Driven to Temptation by Melia Alexander

Driven to Temptation is a new adult/adult crossover novel by Melia Alexander. This is the first book I have read from this author, and I have to say I liked it but I didn’t love it. It is a super quick read, both in length and in amount of time passed in the actual story. I liked Driven To Temptation. I thought it was a fun read, but it ended up being just ok for me because I felt like all of it was too rushed. Driven to Temptation is the story of Delaney and Aiden. I really liked Aiden and I mostly liked Delaney. I loved a lot of things about Delaney actually, but she had her moments of annoyance. I loved how smart she is, how driven, and how she goes out of her way to show people at work what she is capable of. But I found her to be a bit naive. Maybe naive isn’t the right word choice- she is more childishly stubborn. Take her… Read more »

{Review} If You Dare by Jessica Lemmon @lemmony @entangledpub

{Review} If You Dare by Jessica Lemmon @lemmony @entangledpub

If You Dare is a really fun, really cute feel good romance. Lily and Marcus have the most hilarious competitive relationship going on. I loved that the book was told in their dual narrative, so we could really get inside both of their heads. And I loved that once the main “dare” was over, they kept the dare theme going all the way to the very end of the story. Some of the things they dared the other to do were too funny. This book made me laugh, which was just what I wanted. Lily is a competitive one, that is for sure. Because I can tell you one thing, if I were dared to spend the night is a super creepy abandoned mansion, no way would I do it. But I admired he way Lily hunkered down, and when I saw everything that she brought with her, I knew I would like her. That girl did not pack light. Haha! If I were Marcus I would have tried to… Read more »
