{Release Day Review++Excerpt+Giveaway} Trapped by Rhonda Pollero

{Release Day Review++Excerpt+Giveaway} Trapped by Rhonda Pollero

Trapped is a romantic suspense novel by Rhonda Pollero. It is the third book in the Finding Justice Series. The Finding Justice series follows a set of brothers, but each of the books can be read as standalones. This was the first book in the series I have read, and I didn’t have any problems following the story and the characters. Trapped really did read like a true standalone. I enjoyed both the romance and the suspense aspect of the story, though maybe I did enjoy the romance aspect a tad bit more. Trapped follows Declan and Chasyn. I was initially attracted to this book because of the legal aspect of the story. I am a sucker for anything having to do with law. And I did enjoy the trial part of the story, but Chasyn’s character fell a little short for me. She is a paralegal, which I thought was a great tie in. But sometimes I just couldn’t figure out why she was doing some of the things she was… Read more »

{Mini Review+Excerpt+ Giveaway} A SEAL’S COURAGE by JM Stewart

{Mini Review+Excerpt+ Giveaway} A SEAL’S COURAGE by JM Stewart

A SEAL’S COURAGE by JM Stewart is the first book in the military match series. I really enjoyed A Seal’s Courage. I thought it was a great start to series I am excited to read more of. A Seal’s Courage is told in dual narrative between Lauren and Trent, which as you may know is my favorite narration style for contemporary romances. It pairs two tropes that I have really been enjoying lately, best friends brother and online matchmaking, so I was pretty sure this book was going to be a hit with me, but I didn’t know just how much until I started reading. I fell in love with all of the emotion in A Seal’s Courage. Lauren and trent are matched up on a military men dating site. I really enjoyed the flow of A Seal’s Courage. This one was a great read for me. I can’t wait for more.  Enter to win 1 of 15 free ebook downloads of A SEAL’S COURAGE! http://bit.ly/2tlQOfv Note: Book Briefs Contest Policy applies.  All of the prizes,… Read more »

{Review} So Twisted by Melissa Marino @MelissaWrites2 @ForeverRomance

{Review} So Twisted by Melissa Marino @MelissaWrites2 @ForeverRomance

So Twisted is the first book in the bad behavior series by author Melissa Marino. The Bad Behavior series is a series of standalone contemporary romances that straddle the line between new adult and adult. I would still put them in the new adult category because the main character for So Twisted was in her twenties. But I can easily see this appealing to fans of both new adult and adult contemporary romances. So Twisted is a feel good romance and is a very quick read. It had its’ fair share of funny moments too. (And some moments that made me beyond embarrassed.) Overall, I really enjoyed this one, and I can’t wait to read books 2 and 3 of the series, both of which are already out. Binge readathon, anyone?? So Twisted is told in dual narrative between the two main characters, Callie and Aaron. Aaron is a single dad and Callie is the new live in nanny. While the overall story line is rather predictable (we all know… Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} Crossing the Friend Zone by Kelly Eadon @keauthor

{Review+Giveaway} Crossing the Friend Zone by Kelly Eadon @keauthor

Crossing the Friend Zone is an adult contemporary romance by author Kelly Eadon. This is the third book in the Belmont Beach Brides series. I really enjoyed the first two books in the series, but each of the books can be read as standalones. They are all set in the same world, and I enjoy seeing the character crossover. I loved Kelly’s easy way with romance and building a connection between characters. Her first book, The Wedding Date, was a feel good read for me, and her next book, The Family Man was the same. And Crossing the Friends Zone was no different. It was a  feel good romance that I read in one sitting. Crossing the Friend Zone is the story of Ainsley and Ryan. If you have read my reviews, you know that I love a good friends to more storyline. Mix that in with Kelly’s gift for writing fun, sweet and sexy romances that make you want to smile, and I knew this one was going to… Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} Royal Affair by Parker Swift @the_parkerswift @ForeverRomance

{Review+Giveaway} Royal Affair by Parker Swift @the_parkerswift @ForeverRomance

Royal Affair is the first book in the new adult contemporary romance, Royal Scandal series by author Parker Swift. I really enjoyed Royal Affair. It is the perfect valentines day read, or really a read for any day of the year. It has lots of romance, sexy times, witty banter and great characters. I can’t wait for the next book in the Royal Scandal series, because this one sure did brighten my day. At first, I has no idea what to make of Lydia and Dylan. I loved both of them, but they also each annoyed me in different ways. Lydia is a pretty independent person, and I really admired that about her. It takes guts to pack up and move to another country for an internship, especially one in the highly critical fashion world. But at the same time, she was the type of independent that views accepting help or nice things from other people as a weakness. Which I don’t agree with, and it got to the point… Read more »

{Review} RENEGADE DRAGON by Lolita Lopez

{Review} RENEGADE DRAGON by Lolita Lopez

Renegade Dragon is the fourth book in the Dragon Heat series by Lolita Lopez. The Dragon Heat series is an adult paranormal romance series. This was the first book I have read from this series, and I think that might have been a mistake. I wasn’t lost of anything, and I do believe that each of the books can be read as a standalone, however; I think I would have enjoyed the story more if I was not new to the world. I liked the idea of Nike protecting a special apple tree, but again I am not sure if this is a new addition to the series or if this tree and the apples played a role in previous stories. It seemed to be very very important but I couldn’t tell what the background was. I really liked Niko, even though he was a little overbearing at time. Act first explain later, which would have really gotten on my nerves. Nike and Eris are sucked into a very quickly… Read more »

{Release Day Review} GETTING DIRTY WITH THE CEO by Mia Sosa @miasosaromance @ForeverRomance

{Release Day Review} GETTING DIRTY WITH THE CEO by Mia Sosa @miasosaromance @ForeverRomance

Getting Dirty with the CEO is the third book in the adult contemporary romance series, called The Suits Undone series, by author Mia Sosa. This was a fun, quick read. Each of the books works well as a standalone. In fact, I didn’t even know that this book was the third book in the series until I had finished it and was drafting my review post. I had absolutely no issues following the storyline and the character. I am excited, now that I get to read books 1 and 2 because this one was a lot of fun. If you are a fan of some great bickering and resisting, this is going to be a hit with you. Getting Dirty with the CEO is told in dual narrative between the two main characters, Mimi and Daniel. The story starts out at a wedding (which, now that I am thinking about it, was probably the wedding of one of the couples from book 1 or 2.) and Daniel and Mimi have… Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} The Family Man by Kelly Eadon @keauthor

{Review+Giveaway} The Family Man by Kelly Eadon @keauthor

The Family Man is an adult contemporary romance by author Kelly Eadon. Normally, this is not a book that I would pick up on my own. I am not typically drawn to books featuring a single parent, but because I have read, and really enjoyed, one of Kelly’s books in the past, I decided to give this book a try. I loved Kelly’s easy way with romance and building a connection between characters. Her last book, The Wedding Date, was a feel good read for me, and I wanted to see if The Family Man would be the same. And it was. The Family Man takes place in the same town, with the same characters, and some new ones thrown in for fun. I like this set up because you can still read each of the books independently, but if you do read them in order you are privy to some extra insights into the various characters and you get to watch them interact in the background throughout the books…. {Review+Giveaway} Risk of Exposure by @EmmyCurtis19

{Review+Giveaway} Risk of Exposure by @EmmyCurtis19

Risk of Exposure is the sixth book in the adult military romance action/thriller series by Emmy Curtis. Each of the books can be read as a standalone, but they are all set in the same universe, so there is some character overlap. I have not read any of the previous books, in fact the first time I heard of the series was the pre-release events for Risk of Exposure. But, I will tell you one thing, if the other books are even half as good as this one, I need to read all of them. I loved Risk of Exposure. I loved the whole spy watching someone who he doesn’t know is also a spy thing. It felt very Mr. & Mrs. Smith to me. Risk of Exposure is told in dual narrative between Malone, or Mal, and Abby. Mal is assigned to watch his boss’ daughter- all the way over in the Ukraine. And unbeknownst to all of them, Abby is actually CIA. I loved how heated things got… Read more »
