{ARC Review+Giveaway} The Right Kind of Guy by Kerri-Leigh Grady @kerrileighgrady

{ARC Review+Giveaway} The Right Kind of Guy by Kerri-Leigh Grady @kerrileighgrady

The Right Kind of Guy is part of the What Happens in Vegas series by Kerri-Leigh Grady. This is book 17 in the series. I read book 16 (Hot on His Heels) and to be honest I didn’t love it. But each of the books are written by different authors and the only common denominator between them is that they all take place in Vegas, so i thought what the heck. Let’s give this one a try. And I am glad I did. The summary sounded amusing, and it was. I liked this one more than the last book in the series, but it was only a pretty good read. It didn’t make me leap for joy, but I did enjoy it. The Right Kind of Guy initially intrigued me because it takes place in a romance writer’s convention and the main character is a decently popular romance author, who doesn’t believe in real life sweep your off your feet romances. I knew right then and there I had to… Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} Just one Week by @AliceGaines @LoveStruckEP @entangledpub

{Review+Giveaway} Just one Week by @AliceGaines @LoveStruckEP @entangledpub

Just one Week is an adult contemporary romance by Alice Gaines. I love a good brother’s best friend forbidden romance, and this is a really cute one. (Plus, the main character’s name is Michelle, so I twas easy for me to put myself in her shoes and imagine me in her place. Just sayin’) Just one Week is told in dual narrative between Michelle and Alex, her brother’s best friend, and her childhood protector. But they had a huge falling out eight years ago, and since then Michelle has never returned to town. I was interested to see what the big falling out what, and in the end this turned out to be a very satisfying sweet romance. I really enjoyed Michelle and Alex. Michelle is the right amount of sweet with a hint of sass to keep her entertaining, and Alex is such a great guy. It is so clear that he always fills the role of protector in all of his relationships in life. I think that is… Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} The Best Friend Bargain by @RobinBielman @entangledpub

{Review+Giveaway} The Best Friend Bargain by @RobinBielman @entangledpub

The Best Friend Bargain is the third book in the adult contemporary romance Kisses in the Sand series by Robin Bielman. I read the first book in the series, Keeping Mr. Right Now and I really enjoyed it. I missed the second book in the series, but that is ok because while each of the books are set in the same world, they each work really well as standalones. The Best Friend Bargain is a fun, quick little read that will put a smile on your face. The Best Friend Bargain is told in dual narrative between Olivia and her best friend Danny. I’m not sure why, but when I originally read the summary, I thought this was going to be a fake marriage/relationship/fake baby turned real type of book, but I was wrong. This is a very real marriage and baby book. It took me a little by surprise when I 1) found out that Olivia was actually pregnant, by someone other than Danny and she really wanted to marry… Read more »

{Review} Random Acts of Marriage by Boone Brux

{Review} Random Acts of Marriage by Boone Brux

Random Acts of Marriage is the second book in the adult contemporary romance series, called Wedding Favors, by Boone Brux. The books in the Wedding Favors series can each be read as standalones, and I had no problem jumping in with book two. In fact, I was surprised to learn that this was part of a series, and even more surprised to learn that the couple from the first book was Dani and Jamie, because of certain events that took place in Random Acts of Marriage. Either way, Random Acts of Marriage was a quick fun read that left me feeling slightly warmer than lukewarm. Random Acts of Marriage is the story of overly uptight Kinni and go with the flow Price. I liked the opposites attract angle of the story, and I really enjoyed Price. Kinni seemed a bit over the top, even for me. The idea behind the story is that as a wedding favor, the bride asks Kinni to just let loose and have some fun in… Read more »

{Review} Hot on His Heels by Margo Bond Collins

{Review} Hot on His Heels by Margo Bond Collins

Hot on His Heels is the 16th book in the What Happens in Vegas series by Margo Bond Collins. Hot on His Heels is an adult contemporary romance from the entangled Lovestruck line. And I have to say, the two main characters Sadie and Jake, did seem very lovestruck throughout the story. But unfortunately, I also have to say that I didn’t love Hot on His Heels as much as I wanted to. It is a quick read, and I can see a lot of people really enjoying the spicy-sweetness of the story but it didn’t mesh with me and my personality. Hot on His Heels is an interesting concept. Jake is a very famous romance editor, but because his brother is an ultra conservative politician and doesn’t want to smear his public image Jake has decided to hide behind a female persona. Sadie is a literature professor that is beautiful but has no idea and who is working on an academic piece that she thinks is bound to get… Read more »

{ARC Review} Driven to Temptation by Melia Alexander

{ARC Review} Driven to Temptation by Melia Alexander

Driven to Temptation is a new adult/adult crossover novel by Melia Alexander. This is the first book I have read from this author, and I have to say I liked it but I didn’t love it. It is a super quick read, both in length and in amount of time passed in the actual story. I liked Driven To Temptation. I thought it was a fun read, but it ended up being just ok for me because I felt like all of it was too rushed. Driven to Temptation is the story of Delaney and Aiden. I really liked Aiden and I mostly liked Delaney. I loved a lot of things about Delaney actually, but she had her moments of annoyance. I loved how smart she is, how driven, and how she goes out of her way to show people at work what she is capable of. But I found her to be a bit naive. Maybe naive isn’t the right word choice- she is more childishly stubborn. Take her… Read more »
