{Review+Giveaway} Make Me Stay by Rebecca Brooks @BeccaBooks @BrazenBooks

{Review+Giveaway} Make Me Stay by Rebecca Brooks @BeccaBooks @BrazenBooks

Make Me Stay is the first book in the Men of Gold Mountain series by Rebecca Brooks. Make Me Stay is an adult contemporary romance. I really enjoyed the first book in the Men of Gold Mountain series, and I can’t wait to read the next book. It is a new spin on a familiar concept, one that I have seen done more in romantic comedy movies rather than in books, so it was fun for me to read about it. In this case Sam Kane was a developer wanting to buy land on the mountain to develop a ski community and finish out her father’s dream, but the concept can be used for anything. It goes like this, two people have never met but one is mad at the other one because that other one is trying to make them do something they don’t want to do (in this case sell his land). Two individuals meet but one or both of them don’t know who the other is. They like… Read more »

{Review} Worked Up by Tessa Bailey @mstessabailey @BrazenBooks

{Review} Worked Up by Tessa Bailey @mstessabailey @BrazenBooks

Worked up is the third book in the adult contemporary Made in Jersey series by Tessa Bailey. I loved this book so hard. I stayed up until 2 am reading, and it is the first thing that has put a smile on my face in days. (it has been a tough couple of days…) Worked up works well as a standalone. I have not read either of the previous two books in the Made in Jersey series, and while we do see glimpses of the couples, they do not distract from Duke and and Sam’s story. The focus is always on the two of them. Worked up is the perfect beach or poolside read for people looking for a romance as hot as the Florida sun. Worked up is told in dual narrative bewteen main characters Duke and Sam. Duke is always taking care of everyone around him. His best friend’s family lives with him, and he is resident babysitter to their four year old daughter. And Duke’s four divorcee… Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} Fool Me Once by @Katee_Robert @BrazenBooks @entangledpub

{Review+Giveaway} Fool Me Once by @Katee_Robert @BrazenBooks @entangledpub

Fool Me Once is the second book in an adult contemporary romance series, called Foolproof Love, by Katee Robert. I really enjoyed the first book,  Foolproof Love. I thought it was a fun book, and I loved the small town- gossipy setting. I knew I was going to love the second book before I even sat down to read it, because I love the little spitfire that is Audrey. I couldn’t wait for her story. Fool Me Once is told in dual narrative between Audrey and Quinn, which I have loved. Audrey and Quinn are each dynamic and explosive characters in their own right, but when you add them together- holy cow. You better step back. Audrey is a mega gamer, and she is pretty bad- A. So Bad-A that she is one of 10 gamers invited to a huge conference to alpha test (which comes before beta testing) a very popular game. The only problem is that Audrey has severe panic attacks and being in a crowded room with… Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} One Week to Score by Kate Meader @kittymeader @BrazenBooks

{Review+Giveaway} One Week to Score by Kate Meader @kittymeader @BrazenBooks

One Week to Score is the third book in the Tall, Dark, and Texan series by Kate Meader. The series is a group of interconnected standalones. The characters cross over but the stories can all be read independently. One Week to Score is the first book in the series that I have read. I am a sucker for a brother’s best friend trope, so I knew I had to read One Week to Score. And I was really glad that I did. Not only did I enjoy it immensely, but it made me want to grab Brody’s story next. Olivia and Flynn go way back. Then they didn’t speak for years and were both engaged to other people. One Week to Score picks up on Olivia’s wedding day as it all falls apart before it even gets started. Insert Flynn to pick up the pieces, against Olivia’s wishes. I loved the fun, bickering dynamic between the two of them. And it only gets hotter as they get closer. Flynn does… Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} Foolproof Love by @Katee_Robert @BrazenBooks @entangledpub

Foolproof Love is the first in an adult contemporary romance series by the same name by Katee Robert. I really enjoyed Foolproof Love. I thought it was a fun book, and I loved the small town- gossipy setting. I think this is the making of great things to come for this series. And on that note, I can’t wait for the next book in the series because I love the little spitfire that is Audrey. But this story was Jules and Adam’s story, and I really enjoyed both of them. Foolproof Love is told in dual narrative between Adam and Jules, which I have loved. I have recently read a string book that were from only the girls point of view, and it made me realize just how much I love the split point of view in books. It is very much my preferred narration style…all the time. The small town setting was perfect for this story, because Jules desperately wanted to escape the labels that everyone has attached to… Read more »
