{Interview+Giveaway} Rough & Tumble by Rhenna Morgan

{Interview+Giveaway} Rough & Tumble by Rhenna Morgan

I am so excited to have Rhenna Morgan , the author of Rough & Tumble here with us today. Thank you for being here at Book briefs rhenna. Describe Rough & Tumble in a tweet (140 characters or less) What you see isn’t always what you get. What you want isn’t always what you need. Sometimes a woman’s safest in the arms of a dangerous man. Who was more fun to write? Jace or Vivienne? Why? Definitely Jace. For some reason, his scenes flowed very easily. But then, he’d also been taking up space in my head for a year before he finally got screen time. What do you do when you get writers block? It depends on what stage of the book I’m in. Sometimes the answer is as simple as a change in writing environment or a glass of wine. (There’s some truth to, “Write drunk, edit sober.”) Most of the time, though, if I can just write something—even if it’s my grocery list—my words will start coming…. Read more »

{Guest Post+Giveaway} The Assignment by Jade A. Waters

{Guest Post+Giveaway} The Assignment by Jade A. Waters

Today I am excited to have Author Jade A. Waters here on the blog to share a guest post with us about her new book, The Assignment. Welcome Jade! 🙂   Why BDSM? by   A bounty of sexy stories in one’s head with a million directions to take when writing them…which is probably why I’ve heard the question a few times—what’s up with the BDSM fascination in erotica these days? Many like to point fingers at a certain book that came out a few years back, but the truth is that BDSM has always been around in erotic fiction, just as it has in real life. Perhaps now the literary world is more attuned to it, or even more open-minded, and though I’m not sure exactly what it is, today I’m here to tell you why I opted to venture into the world of BDSM for the first book in my Lessons in Control series, The Assignment. I’ve been writing erotica off and on my whole life, and only… Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} Everything for Her by @_AlexaRiley @CarinaPress

{Review+Giveaway} Everything for Her by @_AlexaRiley @CarinaPress

Everything For Her is the first book in the adult romance, For Her series by Alexa Riley. Alexa Riley is a romance author duo that I am completely loving! Everything for Her is perfect for fans of swoony romances with a side of tasteful cheese. If you are not a fan of overly romantic and a bit cheesy romances, you might find Everything for Her a bit too sweet. I didn’t. I really enjoyed this book. I thought Oz was swoony in all the right ways. I can’t wait to see what Alexa Riley has in store for us next. Everything for Her is told in dual narrative between Oz and Mallory. It is really interesting because right off the bat Oz is quite taken with Mallory. Some might even say he is obsessed with her. And I have to say, he wears obsession well. Very well. (which is not something I would say about most people.) There is a case of Insta-love in Everything for Her but I… Read more »

{Guest Post+Giveaway} The Stranger by @Anna_Del_Mar @CarinaPress

Get a Copy: Amazon | B&N | GooglePlay | Kobo | Carina Press Series: The Wounded Warrior #2 Release: August 22, 2016 Goodreads I loved The Asset by Anna Del Mar (You can check out my review HERE) so I am very excited to have Anna back on the blog with a guest post today! When Ice Meets Fire Introducing The Stranger By Anna del Mar     Hello Book Briefs visitors! I’m delighted to introduce to you the characters of The Stranger, my newest romantic suspense and the second book of my Wounded Warrior Series, following on the heels of the Amazon bestseller, The Asset. One very cool fact about the series is that you don’t have to read the books in any particular order. Each novel is a standalone journey. Like The Asset, The Stranger is also about a strong heroine trying to find her place in the world and a brave, hot alpha fighting his own demons who will stop at nothing to protect the woman he… Read more »

{ARC Review+Interview+Giveaway} The Gun Runner by @ScottDHildreth @CarinaPress

{ARC Review+Interview+Giveaway} The Gun Runner by @ScottDHildreth @CarinaPress

The Gun Runner is the first book in the adult romantic suspense series, called Mafia Made by author Scott Hildreth. This is the first book of Scott’s that I have had the pleasure of reading, and I have to say that The Gun Runner lived up to its’ expectation. Based on the summary, I was expecting something fast paced with high intensity and lots of sexy. It was all of those things. Fans of suspense and Mafia themed books will really enjoy The Gun Runner. It isn’t often that I get the chance to read books by male authors, and I have found that I particularly enjoy romantic suspense or mystery books written from a male perspective, because I love the high action, high intensity that they can bring. Scott Hildreth does a great job with the pacing and anticipation building in The Gun Runner. I was immediately sucked into Tripp’s company, and everything that goes with Gray market (I didn’t even know there was a gray market) weapons dealings…. Read more »

{Review} Controlled Burn by @ShannonStacey @CarinaPress

{Review} Controlled Burn by @ShannonStacey @CarinaPress

Controlled Burn is the second book in the Boston Fire series by Shannon Stacey. Each of the books can be read as a standalone, and I have to admit that I had no idea this was book 2 in a series, until I pulled it up on goodreads to write this review. (That should tell you that it really can be read a true standalone.) Now I am very curious to check out who book one is about, and get my hands on a copy of that as well. Controlled Burn is a great contemporary romance. I really connected with the subject matter of the book because it deals with something near and dear to my heart with the elderly and the issues they face while aging. It warmed my heart to see Jessica come to help out her grandparents, even though she had never met them before. It was really touching to see. And I loved how real their family dynamic was. There was no black and white good… Read more »

{ARC Review} The Asset by Anna Del Mar

{ARC Review} The Asset by Anna Del Mar

The Asset is the first book in the adult thriller romance series, called the Wounded Warrior series by Anna del Mar. This is one of those books that is not my normal read. But there was something about the summary that was mysterious enough for me to really want to give it a try. The whole Lia hiding aspect intrigued me enough that made me want to see what was going to happen. And I am very pleased that I did. This book had so much more action in it than I was expecting. Yes it is a very nice love story as well, but this book would make a kick ass, high budget, let’s blow things up action thriller. Lia is living in a cabin in the middle of no where. Ash shows up to this cabin looking to be her roommate with a dog, and oh yea he is very very hurt and very very defensive about it. It was a very bizarre start to the story. I… Read more »

{Guest Post+Giveaway} Controlled Burn by Shannon Stacey

{Guest Post+Giveaway} Controlled Burn by Shannon Stacey

What Makes a Swoon-Worthy Romance Hero? With so many characters in a romance novel it can be hard for a hero to shine, especially if the book is part of an ongoing series. But he’s the lead, so he needs to be a man the reader can and will fall head over heels for. Whether he’s a firefighter or a cowboy or a vampire, there are things we look for in a man when it comes to happily ever after. Abs. Yes, a swoon worthy romance hero will have rippled abs the heroine itches to run her hands over. If you’ve seen the cover for Controlled Burn, the second book in my Boston Fire series, you know my hero, Rick Gullotti, doesn’t lack in the sexy abs department. But Rick, who’s a lieutenant with the fire department, is a lot more than his looks. One of the things I love most about him, and about most of the heroes from favorite books, is his sense of family. Besides having a… Read more »
