{Review+Giveaway} Gold Rush by Jennifer Comeaux @LadyWave4

{Review+Giveaway} Gold Rush by Jennifer Comeaux @LadyWave4

Gold Rush is a standalone young adult ice skating romance set in the same world as Jennifer’s Edge series and Ice series. I have read, and the loved the entire Ice series, which is Josh and Courtney’s story. I still have not read the edge series, which is the story of Liza’s dad, but I am so going to. I loved the Ice series to pieces, and Gold Rush gave me all the same great feels. I love the feel good romance that Jennifer Comeaux is so excellent at delivering. This was a great book for new and old fans of Jennifer’s work. Gold Rush is Liza’s story, a two time world champion ice skater. Liza has been so focused on skating her whole life that she has missed out on all the boy, and dating, aspects of growing up. In fact, she has never even been on a date at 19, much less anything else with a guy. And then along comes Braden. I loved Liza and Braden from… Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} Trying Sophie by @Rebecca_Norinne

{Review+Giveaway} Trying Sophie by @Rebecca_Norinne

Trying Sophie is the first book in the adult contemporary sports romance, Dubline Rugby series by author Rebecca Norinne. I have never read any of Rebecca’s books, but I can’t pass up a book set in Dublin with Rugby players. One of my favorite sports romance series of all time features a rugby team (by L.H. Cosway & Penny Reid) so I couldn’t pass up the first book in a new rugby romance series. And I am super glad that I read Trying Sophie. This was a spicy and sweet sports romance that gave me all the feels and made me super happy while reading it. Trying Sophie is told in dual narrative between Sophie and Declan’s points of view. I loved this aspect of the story. I think it works extremely well in a contemporary romance because it gives you the opportunity to really get to know each character. I love seeing Declan’s motivations, backstory and feelings. I loved seeing Sophie’s too but I feel sometimes I like seeing… Read more »

{Review} Hooked by @BrendaRothert @LovestruckEP

{Review} Hooked by @BrendaRothert @LovestruckEP

Hooked is an adult contemporary sports romance by author Brenda Rothert. I love a good sports romance but the tag line for this book is what hooked me in. 😉 “a sultry novel featuring a brooding NHL player who’s hell on skates—and the no-nonsense woman who forces him to clean up his act.” I love a good brooding male character and a no nonsense woman. Hooked was right up my alley for a good whipping into shape romance. I got such a kick out of Miranda and Jake. Jake needed a Miranda in his life badly. Hooked is the first book I have read by Brenda, but it certainly will not be the last. I really liked Hooked. Miranda made me snort, laugh out loud and chuckle non-stop throughout Hooked. I just loved her quick comebacks. She seemed to be the only one to knock Jake off his game. And he desperately needed that in his life. He was quick on his way to being a jerkwad, and we can’t… Read more »

{Release Day Review+Excerpt+Giveaway} Going Under by Lexi Ryan @writerlexiryan

{Release Day Review+Excerpt+Giveaway} Going Under by Lexi Ryan @writerlexiryan

Going Under is a new adult contemporary romance (with a college football player, main character- so maybe sports romance) and is the third book in the Blackhawk Boys series by Lexi Ryan. Going Under can be read as a standalone novel. I have not read the first two books in the series, but I am dying to now considering how much I adored this book. I completely fell in love with Going Under. I have been craving a true new adult college romance story for so long, but I haven’t found anything that quite fit the bill. But Going Under was perfect! I love the whole childhood friend’s brother aspect, I love a pseudo second chance romance and I love a good emotional backstory. I really enjoyed the dual narrative in Going Under, between Sebastian and Alex. I was itching to find out what happened to Alex with her scars, and why on earth Sebastian has kept his distance for this long. I knew from the start it couldn’t just… Read more »

{Mini Review+Excerpt+Giveaway} MAYBE THIS TIME by @JenniferSnow18 @ForeverRomance

{Mini Review+Excerpt+Giveaway} MAYBE THIS TIME by @JenniferSnow18 @ForeverRomance

Maybe this time is the second book in the Colorado Ice series by Jennifer Snow. The Colorado Ice series is an adult contemporary sports romance. This is the first book I read in this series, and while it can be read as a standalone and I had no problem following along, I do think this would be best enjoyed in order. Maybe this Time is a book that has elements outside of my comfort zone, but I am so so glad I decided to read it. I knew I would love the hockey player aspect of the story, but divorce and bitter divorcees are not really something I gravitate towards in my romances. Maybe that is rude of me, (which I don’t mean it to be!) it is just not something I can really relate to and it brings a whole separate set of baggage that I don’t really have the experience to connect with the characters. But I do love a sports romance and I love a sweet second… Read more »

{Review} Crazy Pucking Love by @CindiMadsen @EPEmbrace

Crazy Pucking Love is the third book in the Taking Shots series by Cindi Madsen. I read the first book in 2014, Getting Lucky Number Seven before I knew this was going to be a series and I loved it! It was a flirty, fun friends to something more trope. When I saw that Crazy Pucking Love was part of the same series as Getting Lucky Number Seven I was both super excited to go back to the series and bummed that I had somehow missed the second book in the series (which I need to read ASAP). Each book can be read as a standalone and the characters are very different so you will be completely fine reading them each alone, but I really loved the first book in the series, so I am going to encourage everyone to read that as well. But you don’t have to read it before Crazy Pucking Love. Crazy Pucking Love is a contemporary romance of friends with benefits to something more, between… Read more »

{Review} Stroked Hard by Meghan Quinn @AuthorMegQuinn

{Review} Stroked Hard by Meghan Quinn @AuthorMegQuinn

Stroked Hard is the third book in the a new adult contemporary romance series, Stroked, by Meghan Quinn. I loved the first book, Stroked, a LOT,and then I read Stroked Long and that book LEVELED ME. I love Bodi so hard. It is without a doubt, the best book I have read in 2016. Hands down.  And book two is still the best book I have read in 2016. Which brings me to why this review is hard for me to write. It is really hard to follow up a book that I love so so much with another book in the series featuring a different character that is not Bodi, I was destined to not love it as much. But Stroked Hard is still a really good read. It is just hard to follow up such a perfect book. Even so, I love the Stroked Series so much! Each of the books are excellent in their own regard. I think this is a series that everyone needs to read (especially… Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} Breaking Cage by AJ Pryor @ajpryor1

{Review+Giveaway} Breaking Cage by AJ Pryor @ajpryor1

Breaking Cage is a lot of things rolled into one book. First and foremost it is a standalone contemporary sports romance by author A.J. Pryor. But it is also a mystery and suspense story. I think this will have crossover appeal to lots of people. I think both fans of new adult as well as adult romances will enjoy Breaking Cage. I also think that fans of both mysteries and sports romances will enjoy this story, even if you only consider yourself a fan of one or the other. This is my first book by A.J. Pryor and I think she does an excellent job blending the genres together to make a really great story. Breaking Cage is Hannah and Derek’s story. I have really been into reporter stories this year. I think this is a new thing in 2016 because I have been reading tons of new adult newbie reporter stories, where hte main character is trying to land a job or trying to get their first big break… Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} WILDER by @RebeccaYarros @EPEmbrace

Wilder is the first book in the new adult sports romance ( but a different kind of sports- think x games, not football or hockey) by Rebecca Yarros. It is also the first book in the Renegades series. The Renegades are group of extreme sports junkies that are youtube stars. I can’t wait to read the rest of their stories. I love that the renegades are a mixture of guys and girls. That will make for a great series, I think. Every now and again you read a book that gets you really excited for the books to come. Wilder is one of those books. Wilder is told in dual narrative between Paxton Wilder and Leah. Pax and Leah stole my heart! The book starts out great, but it is the slow burn romance sizzling between these two that really kicks it up a few notches in my book. First of all, the book is set on a year long school study cruise going around the whole. Umm, can we… Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} Stadium of Lights by @authortialewis

{Review+Giveaway} Stadium of Lights by @authortialewis

Stadium of Lights is an adult second chance sports romance by author Tia Lewis. Fall means football season to me, so I am always excited to read a football-centric romance. Last month, I read my first book by Tia Lewis, Draw Play, which was in the college football arena (which, if you wanted to know is my one true sports love). I liked Draw Play but I didn’t love it. Overall, I think I enjoyed Stadium of Lights a little more than Draw Play. I liked the characters, and I really liked that there was minimal BS. What Stadium of Lights is, is exactly what the title promises- a good second chance romance. Stadium of lights is a standalone romance, and the story is vert neatly wrapped up in one book, which was nice. I think the author can easily make more books to fit into this universe with some of the other members of the football team if she wanted to. I loved what the coach said about the… Read more »
