{Review+Giveaway} Illusion by @MartinaABoone @simonteen @rivetedlit

Ahh, I can’t believe the Heirs of Watson Island Trilogy is done. I loved Illusion, it might be my favorite book out of all of them, and this was one heck of an ending. The hard part about this trilogy is that with each of the books it is getting harder and harder to write spoiler free reviews. Martina Boone has created such a detail rich world that is so woven is layers and layers of secrets and mysteries that it is almost impossible to say something about book 3 without giving something away. Needless to say, you need to read this series in order. So if you have not read Compulsion or Persuasion yet, stop reading this review right now and go start reading this series. You will love it! I can see this trilogy, appealing to so many different kinds of readers. It will appeal to fans of romance, mystery, as well as fans of creepy/dark books. It is labeled as a southern gothic. I can’t say that… Read more »

{Release Day Review} The Darkest Frost: Vol 2 by Tanya Holmes @shesawriterth

{Release Day Review} The Darkest Frost: Vol 2 by Tanya Holmes @shesawriterth

The Darkest Frost Volume 2 is the second and last book in a two book series of the same name by author, Tanya Holmes. I loved part one SO SO much. When I finished the first book, I needed to have the second book. It was all I could think about for days. I was so anxious to start reading that I refreshed my kindle probably 5 times waiting for my review copy to get synced. And then I proceeded to ignore 3 other days of review books so I could read the darkest Frost. This is just one of those books that made me forget the world. The second volume brought a lot of character development and insight that we were able to fully flesh out in the first book because of all the secrets. I loved looking into the brothers past and getting to know them so much better. This is the second half of a duology that needs to be read together, so I can’t really say… Read more »

{ARC Review+Giveaway} Here They Lie by D’Ann Burrow @DKBurrow

{ARC Review+Giveaway} Here They Lie by D’Ann Burrow @DKBurrow

Here They Lie by D’Ann Burrow is a new adult southern gothic romance. I love these kinds of reads during this time of year. I have a confession to make. Normally I am not a seasonal reader. I will read a “beach read” romance every single day of the year, and same goes for sci fi, fantasy and paranormal. But for some reason, the exception to this is during fall, and more particularly during the month of October. October brings out a desire in me to read creepy, horror books. But my favorite of all are southern Gothic paranormal/magic romances. I want to light a candle and curl up in a warm sweater (with cool weather, please!) and read books just like Here They Lie. The cover practically screams fall/Halloween to me. And the story was great too. The description of Here They Lie initially reminded me of the Heirs of Watson Island series, with the mention of the three families and a secret that bound them together, plus the… Read more »
