{Review} Crazy Pucking Love by @CindiMadsen @EPEmbrace

{Review} Crazy Pucking Love by @CindiMadsen @EPEmbrace

Crazy Pucking Love is the third book in the Taking Shots series by Cindi Madsen. I read the first book in 2014, Getting Lucky Number Seven before I knew this was going to be a series and I loved it! It was a flirty, fun friends to something more trope. When I saw that Crazy Pucking Love was part of the same series as Getting Lucky Number Seven I was both super excited to go back to the series and bummed that I had somehow missed the second book in the series (which I need to read ASAP). Each book can be read as a standalone and the characters are very different so you will be completely fine reading them each alone, but I really loved the first book in the series, so I am going to encourage everyone to read that as well. But you don’t have to read it before Crazy Pucking Love. Crazy Pucking Love is a contemporary romance of friends with benefits to something more, between… Read more »

{Review}The Lost Codex by Heather Lyons @hymheather @InkSlingerPR

Note: I will try my best, but there will probably be some spoilers from the first two books. If you are new to the series, check out my review of The Collectors’ Society HERE and my review of the Hidden Library HERE and my review of The Forgotten Mountain HERE. These books need to be read in order. The Lost Codex is the fourth and final book in the New Adult Fantasy Series, The Collectors’ Society. I was so freakin’ scared to pick up this book because I have loved loved LOVED the first three books so much. I didn’t want the series to end. But fear not Collectors’ Society fans- The Lost Codex is the perfect ending. I don’t know why I am surprised because all of Heather Lyons’ books are pure perfection. I have loved everything about this series, starting with the covers. They are some of my favorite covers for any series. Which is fitting because The Collectors’ Society is ONE OF MY FAVORITE SERIES OF ALL TIME. … Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} Illusion by @MartinaABoone @simonteen @rivetedlit

Ahh, I can’t believe the Heirs of Watson Island Trilogy is done. I loved Illusion, it might be my favorite book out of all of them, and this was one heck of an ending. The hard part about this trilogy is that with each of the books it is getting harder and harder to write spoiler free reviews. Martina Boone has created such a detail rich world that is so woven is layers and layers of secrets and mysteries that it is almost impossible to say something about book 3 without giving something away. Needless to say, you need to read this series in order. So if you have not read Compulsion or Persuasion yet, stop reading this review right now and go start reading this series. You will love it! I can see this trilogy, appealing to so many different kinds of readers. It will appeal to fans of romance, mystery, as well as fans of creepy/dark books. It is labeled as a southern gothic. I can’t say that… Read more »

{Mini Review+Excerpt+Giveaway} Confessions of an Undercover Girlfriend by Kay Marie @daviskaitlyn

{Mini Review+Excerpt+Giveaway} Confessions of an Undercover Girlfriend by Kay Marie @daviskaitlyn

Note: This is the second book in a series that must be read in order. If you are new to the series, check out my review of book one: Confessions of a Virgin Sex Columnist! HERE ** Confessions of an Undercover Girlfriend is written by ya author Kaitlin Davis, writing new adult as Kay Marie. This book is the second book in the series and it must be read after book one: Confessions of a Virgin Sex Columnist! I really enjoyed the first book, and this one was no different. It is a hilarious read. I honestly don’t know any other way to describe it. I struggled with this review because every other sentence I wrote kept repeating how funny and witty and quirky this book was. So I decided to scrap that whole long meandering and honestly just repetitive review and write a mini review instead, telling you that this book is funny and a great time and you should read it. Period. End of story. Confessions of an Undercover… Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} Stupid Love by Cindy Miles @cindymilesbooks

{Review+Giveaway} Stupid Love by Cindy Miles @cindymilesbooks

Stupid Love is the third and final book in the New Adult contemporary romance series, Stupid in Love. Stupid Love is the story of Memory and Jace. It is a companion book to Stupid Girl, and Stupid Boy, but like the first two books it focuses on a new couple. This is a very popular trend in new adult. Series books, each featuring a novel that “stands alone” about a different couple. While I typically like series to follow the same characters, I do enjoy romances in this vein if the characters are well done and if each book is able to feel complete on its’ own. Cindy Miles does an excellent job with each of those things, and it is for those reasons that I love her Stupid in Love series so much. Stupid Girl made my favorites of 2014. I loved it so much! I really liked Stupid Boy a lot too, but it was hard to recreate the love that I felt for Olivia and Brax, the… Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} In the Dark by Monica Murphy @MsMonicaMurphy

{Review+Giveaway} In the Dark by Monica Murphy @MsMonicaMurphy

In the Dark is the second book in a new, new adult contemporary romance series from Monica Murphy. It’s called the Rules Series and these books just keep getting better and better. The Rules Series is follows Shep, his friend Gabe and his cousin Tristan. I enjoyed Shep’s story, Fair Game, but I knew right away that I wouldn’t be able to wait for Gabe’s story. Gabe was a breath of fresh air in In the Dark. The story is told in alternating points of view between Lucy and Gabe. Lucy is house sitting for the summer in a super fancy home, and Gabe and his family are renting the house next door. Gabe was totally taken with Lucy the moment that he saw her, and I loved that about him. I loved that he was not afraid to be completely smitten by her. And I could see why he was. Lucy is great. Sweet, but with some spunk in her. Gabe and Lucy come from two different worlds, and… Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} Siren’s Fury by Mary Weber @TNZFiction @mchristineweber

{Review+Giveaway} Siren’s Fury by Mary Weber @TNZFiction @mchristineweber

Siren’s Fury is the second book in the young adult fantasy trilogy series by the same name. I absolutely LOVED the first book, Storm Siren. It was one of my favorite books of 2014. So I was super excited for Siren’s Fury to come out. Especially since Storm Siren ended on one um-dinger of a cliff hanger. I am starting to think that Mary Weber loves torturing us because Siren’s Fury both started out and ended with something that just about stopped my heart. I absolutely loved the ending though. I may or may not have actually hugged the book when I was done. #IsThatWeird? Siren’s Fury is not as heavy on the romance as the first one was. Rather, it is focused on the mounting war aspects and building up the history of the various nations involved. Mary Weber is a world building genius in my opinion. Her writing is not overt, but the magic is in the way that she subtly weaves in so many details, that this… Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} Ten Things you didn’t know about Sight by @Juliet_Madison @DeltaGirlsBook @DiversionBooks

{Review+Giveaway} Ten Things you didn’t know about Sight by @Juliet_Madison @DeltaGirlsBook @DiversionBooks

Sight is the first book in the Delcarta Sister’s series. And I am not 100% sure the shape that the series is going to take, but this is how I hope it goes- There are 5 sisters. One set of twins and one set of triplets. Each one of them has premonitions featuring one of the five senses. This book focused on Savannah and and development of all of their gifts. Savannah has the gift of sight, but the cool thing is that if they all join hands, they can complete the vision through all of their senses. So I hope in future books that the sisters all stay together, and are all featured. Maybe with a different sister taking lead in each. Sight is a really, really cool concept. This book was a very short and quick read that kind of set the ground work for the situation I just described. It is a young adult paranormal series with a cute romance to boot. I will tell you a… Read more »

{Review} Sweet by @EmmyLaybourne @FeiwelFriends

{Review} Sweet by @EmmyLaybourne @FeiwelFriends

Sweet is a new young adult thriller/horror novel by Emmy Laybourne. When I was finished with sweet, I assumed it was a standalone, but goodreads says it is the first in the Sweet series. Now I am even more intrigued by the book than I was when I finished it, because I cannot wait to see what the author is going to do next with the series. It is going to be freakin’ insane. I really enjoyed Sweet. The idea behind it is scary as all get out…because of how realistic it seems. Solu is a brand new sweetener that is also a weight loss supplement. To celebrate the launch of this innovative new product that is promised to change the weight loss game, Solu pairs up with a luxury cruise line- bringing in celebrities along with normal cruise goers to partake in a luxury weight loss cruise! I love the idea of that, but what happens next is straight out of a horror film. I loved the idea behind… Read more »

{ARC Review+Giveaway}The ForgottenMountain by Heather Lyons @hymheather @InkSlingerPR

Note: I will try my best, but there will probably be some spoilers from the first two books. If you are new to the series, check out my review of The Collectors’ Society HERE and my review of the Hidden Library HERE. These books need to be read in order. The Forgotten Mountain is the third book in the New Adult Fantasy Series, The Collectors’ Society. And I have to first mention how much I love these covers. They are some of my favorite covers for any series. Which is fitting because The Collectors’ Society is ONE OF MY FAVORITE SERIES OF ALL TIME.  The First book, The Collectors’ Society, was one of my favorite books of 2014, and The Hidden Library was another favorite. I can’t remember a series where every single book has gotten a full 5/5 stars from me. But truth be told, the books in the Collectors’ Society deserve more than 5 stars each. This is such an amazing series, and Heather Lyons really ripped my heart… Read more »
