{Release Day Review+Giveaway} Tempting Levi by @jules_barnard @givemebooksblog

{Release Day Review+Giveaway} Tempting Levi by @jules_barnard @givemebooksblog

Happy Release day to Tempting Levi, the first book in a new series by Author Jules Barnard. Tempting Levi is the first book in the new adult contemporary romance, Cade Brothers series by author Jules Barnard. I have read, and really enjoyed, the first couple of books in Jules’ series, which used to be called the Blue series, and is now called the Men of Lake Tahoe series. I really enjoyed the books I read from the series, and I have been meaning to finish it. Now that I have read, and enjoyed Tempting Levi as well, maybe that will be the motivation I need to pick up the next book in the Men of Lake Tahoe series. Tempting Levi is told in dual narrative between our main character Levi, and Emily. Before I dive into what I liked about the characters, let me set up the series for you, because I really love the setup. Levi and his brothers have inherited their father’s luxury resort. His father left Levi in… Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} One S’more Summer by Beth Merlin @BethMerlin80 @InkyTheMonster

{Review+Giveaway} One S’more Summer by Beth Merlin @BethMerlin80 @InkyTheMonster

One S’more Summer by Beth Merlin is a young adult contemporary romance, and is the first book in the Campfire Series. I am a sucker for summer camp stories. I think they are the perfect summer pool/beach reads, and One S’more Summer is a great one. I loved the story and I am super excited for the second book in the series, which comes out at the end of this year. One S’more Summer is the story of Gigi, who is going through a rough patch at the start of our story. I really liked Gigi, and I certainly felt for her, though things always tend to happen for a reason. I thought that was particularly true in her case, and by the end of the book I was pleasantly satisfied that things turned out much better for her than I initially thought they would. After a string of bad luck, Gigi decides to get away for the summer, and she goes to her favorite childhood sleep away camp. Only this… Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} Forbidden Promises by @katee_robert @Barclay_PR

{Review+Giveaway} Forbidden Promises by @katee_robert @Barclay_PR

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Katee Robert delivers the next book in her sizzling O’Malleys family series, hailed as “The Godfather meets Romeo & Juliet.” FORBIDDEN PROMISES features Sloan O’Malley and her mysterious new next-door neighbor, Jude MacNamara. Forbidden Promises is the fourth book in the contemporary romance series, called The O’Malleys by author Katee Robert. I have read several of Katee’s books in the past and really enjoyed the steamy romance, including book one in The O’Malleys. The Marriage Contract,  so I couldn’t wait to continue this series. I enjoyed getting to know some of the O’Malleys, and this is a series that I really want to go back and read books 2 and 3, which I missed. This series follows the three powerful Boston families- the O’Malleys, the Hallorans, and the Sheridans. Forbidden Promises follows Sloan and Jude. Sloan is an O’Malley, and Jude is out for Sheridan blood. If I thought The Marriage Pact was intense, the stakes were notched up even higher in this book. While, I was… Read more »

{Review} Only With Me by Kelly Elliott

{Review} Only With Me by Kelly Elliott

Only with Me is the second book in the adult contemporary romance, With Me series by Kelly Elliott. Each of the books in the With Me series can be read as standalones, and to be honest, I didn’t even realize this was the second book in the series until I pulled up the goodreads page to start compiling my post information. It really did read like a standalone. I loved the family dynamics in Only with Me. In fact, the geek mama was my very favorite part of the book. I found her to be hilariously awesome. The romance was also good, and overall this one was a decent read for me. I enjoyed it (the first half a little more than the second half) but it isn’t going to be a very memorable read in years to come. Still a fun sexy romance that will have you smiling. Only with Me is told in dual narrative between our main couple, Gabi and Nic. Gabi is an awesome cook and… Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} Plight by K.M. Golland

{Review+Giveaway} Plight by K.M. Golland

Plight is a new adult romantic comedy by K.M. Golland. I couldn’t turn down Plight because the summary seemed zany enough to be a funny romantic comedy. And it was. But at times it was a bit too over the top for me. A fun read, but it didn’t blow my socks off. The concept is equal parts hilarious and crazy. Basically, two neighborhood friends have proposal when they are 8 years old with a cheese doodle as the ring. Flash forward to when they are 30 and Elliot is ready to cash in on that marriage. Plight is a zany read that was fun. Parts of it are completely unrealistic and unbeliveable but if you are in the mood for some light hearted fun that you don’t take too seriously, Plight is a fast paced read that will put a smile on your face. The reason I couldn’t go from like to love with Plight was the fast pace that the story sets out on. We are in chapter… Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} We Were Liars by @ELockhart @DelacortePress

{Review+Giveaway} We Were Liars by @ELockhart @DelacortePress

We Were Liars by E. Lockhart is a best selling young adult contemporary. I remember hearing a ton of hype surrounding this title when it first released a few years ago, and I always meant to read it. I know people either loved it or pretty strongly disliked it, but the summary and mystery of it all drew me in. So when I heard that they were coming out with a super special deluxe edition, I knew I finally had to get this book off my To-Be-Read list. And I am so glad that I did. We Were Liars is a crazy ride! I was so not expecting all of the twists and turns. It was emotional and I can totally see why this book is such a hit. I really enjoyed We Were Liars. The writing in We Were Liars is pretty spectacular. It is lyrical and jarring all at once. It is not told in verse, but the writing has a little bit of a stream of consciousness feel…. Read more »

{Mini Review} KISS OF THE IRISH by Lauren Hawkeye

{Mini Review} KISS OF THE IRISH by Lauren Hawkeye

MINI REVIEW Kiss of the Irish by Lauren Hawkeye is the first book in the adult contemporary romance Foreign Fling series. To me, even the name of the series screams frivolous fun. And I am happy to report this book was just that. I had a few minor issues with the character and some plot things, but overall this book was a lot of fun. Bring on the Irish! Kiss of the Irish is the story of Sarah and Cian. Sarah has had a rough go of it lately, so she breaks free for a fun trip to Ireland, where she meets Cian. I enjoyed Sarah and Cian. I liked each of them about 90% of the time. Sarah irked me a bit towards the end of the book, but overall I thought they were both good characters , and their romance was sexy and fun. Just like I wanted. The couple has minor roadblocks but nothing too dramatic, which I appreciated. I liked the set up of the story… Read more »

{Review} Kill All Happies by @RachelCohn @HyperionTeens

{Review} Kill All Happies by @RachelCohn @HyperionTeens

Kill all Happies is a standalone young adult contemporary novel by Rachel Cohn. I know this is going to sound crazy, but this is the first book I have read by Rachel. Kill All Happies is a story of a senior class’ last hurrah. And boy oh boy is it one heck of a night for them. I really enjoyed this crazy over the top story. It was a lot of fun to read. It was certainly not like any graduation party I have seen in real life, but I am sure graduation parties like this have taken place many times. Rachel Cohn has a very snappy and funny writing style. It was one of the things I enjoyed most about the story. The first page of the book had me laughing out loud, which I knew was going to a sign of great things to come. Happies is a local restaurant, that also has an amusement park?! What? How could something that sounds that cool, close down? Victoria, or… Read more »

{Review+Favs List+Giveaway} It Started with Goodbye by @ChristinaJuneYA @BlinkYABooks

{Review+Favs List+Giveaway} It Started with Goodbye by @ChristinaJuneYA @BlinkYABooks

It Started with Goodbye is a young adult contemporary by Christina June. I really enjoyed this read. It was a fast paced story that was reminiscent of a modern day Cinderella story. (with the whole mean step mother element.) I really enjoyed the writing, the characters and most of all the focus of the book. All in All It Started with Goodbye was a cute read that gave me lots of warm and fuzzies. It Started with Goodbye features our main character Tatum, who is in for a not so pleasant summer. She was accused of a crime and she sentenced to community service, and worst of all, being stuck in the house with her stepmother. I actually really liked the set up of the story. The writing is very character and relationship focused, and while there is a romance in It Started with Goodbye, the romance is no where near the main focus of the story. Which I found to be completely refreshing, and kind of perfect for this book…. Read more »

{Review+Guest Post+Giveaway} Sweet Southern Trouble by @Michele_Summers

{Review+Guest Post+Giveaway} Sweet Southern Trouble by @Michele_Summers

Sweet Southern Trouble is an adult sports romance by author Michele Summers. This is the first book I have had the pleasure of reading by Mrs. Summers, but it certainly will not be the last. I loved Sweet Southern Trouble. It was the kind of book that allowed me to totally escape from the real world. I was very absorbed in this book late into the night and even in the morning before I drove to work. I just had to finish it! And I certainly cannot say that about all books I read. It doesn’t look like Sweet Southern Trouble is going to be a series, but I really really wish it would be. I got to know Q and so many of the other football players well enough. I want them to have their own stories! Please, make that happen! Sweet Southern Trouble is a standalone romance novel told in dual narrative between Marabelle and Nick. Marabelle is like a force of nature. I loved watching her tenacity… Read more »
