{Review+Giveaway} Winner Take All by @Laurie_Devore @ImprintReads @FierceReads

{Review+Giveaway} Winner Take All by @Laurie_Devore @ImprintReads @FierceReads

Winner Take All is a young adult contemporary by Laurie Devore. It was a really interesting read for me. There were parts of it that I liked and parts of the story that I didn’t love as much, but I will say one thing about this novel, it really made me think. Even the characters that I didn’t love, made me think. And for that, I enjoyed Winner Take All. It was different than I expected, but not necessarily in a bad way. Winner Take All was a very entertaining read that made me think a lot about double standards that exist in our society today. Winner Take All is the story an extremely competitive main character. Nell wants to be the best at everything. Nell is a very polarizing character. I can see readers either really liking her or really disliking her. Personally, I liked Nell. I liked that she is who she is. No, she is not perfect. Yes, she can be brash and abrasive at times, but… Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} Dear Dwayne, With Love by @eliza_gordon

{Review+Giveaway} Dear Dwayne, With Love by @eliza_gordon

Dear Dwayne, With Love is a standalone romantic comedy by the hilariously funny Eliza Gordon. Eliza’s book, Must Love Otters is one of my favorite romantic comedies. It is so seriously awesome, I recommend it to everyone. I am such a big fan of her books, that I read them all! She never fails to crack me. Her books always feature relateable, quirky characters and an adorable heart racing romance. They are the epitome of funny, feel good reads. And Dear Dwayne, With Love is no different. I was drawn into this story from the very first page. Dear Dwayne is the story of Dani, a girl who is a self proclaimed Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson fanatic. She has been writing letters to Dwayne for the better portion of her teenage and adult life. Let me tell you, her letters completely cracked me up. She even forms responses and has conversations with Dwayne in her head, which are equally funny. We get to watch as Dani balances her real life with… Read more »

{Release Day Review} Awkward. by @LilyKate_author

{Release Day Review} Awkward. by @LilyKate_author

Awkward is a standalone romance by author Lily Kate. I have read one of Lily Kate’s other books, and I really enjoyed it, so when I saw this best friends romance about an awkward doctor, I knew I had to read it. Awkward is kind of my thing. Plus, I really do enjoy best friends romances. Awkward was a really fun read. Great for fans of funny slow burn romances with lots of mishaps and plenty of heart. Awkward is the story of Dr. Jack Darcy and his best friend Allie. I loved watching Allie and jack together. Allie is trying to help Jack become less awkward around new women, so he can find his match. But of course both Jack and Allie have feelings for each other and they haven’t acted on them because they are oblivious to the other one. If I am honest with myself, this is my least favorite set up for a best friends romance trope, because most of the time it is so obvious…. Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} Unconditionally by Erin Lyon @forgereads ‏@WritingLyon ‏

{Review+Giveaway} Unconditionally by Erin Lyon @forgereads ‏@WritingLyon ‏

Unconditionally is the second book in the adult romantic comedy series called Contract Killers by Erin Lyon. I loved the first book, I love you,  Subject to the Following Terms and Conditions (See my review here). The contract Killer series is set in a world where the concept of marriage has turned into a series of seven year contracts. At the end of your contract term, you and your partner can choose whether or not to re-sign for another term of years. Unconditionally is part two of Kate’s duology. In the first book, she is blindsided by her partner when he doesn’t want to re-sign, which sets of a change in Kate’s life. We follow Kate as she navigates a new job and lots of new lover interests. It ended on a nasty cliffhanger, but Unconditionally picks up the day after book one ended and we get to see the continuation to Kate’s story. I loved Unconditionally even more than I loved the first book, and I think that has everything to… Read more »

{Review} Three Blind Dates by Meghan Quinn @AuthorMegQuinn ‏

{Review} Three Blind Dates by Meghan Quinn @AuthorMegQuinn ‏

Three Blind Dates is the first in a new series by the fabulous Meghan Quinn. I love Meghan’s books, and Three Blinds Dates is right up there as one of my favorites. This book was so, so good you guys. It is quoted as a a modern twist on You’ve Got Mail which combined dating apps and blind dates, and I ate all of it up. I seriously loved this book. It had sass, romance and plenty of heart. not to mention it will keep you guessing until the very end. It is the first book in the Dating by Numbers series, and I already know the whole series is going to be a big favorite of mine. Three Blind Dates is kind of a hard book to review without ruining the magic. But I will try my best anyway. In Three Blind Dates we follow our main character Noley as she searches for love. She joins this new dating restaurant in town, which has a really cool premise by… Read more »

{Mini Review+Interview} We are Party People by @LeslieMargolis ‏

{Mini Review+Interview} We are Party People by @LeslieMargolis ‏

I am so excited to have Leslie Margolis here to chat parties and party people. Thank you for being here today Leslie! 1. Describe We Are Party People in a tweet (140 characters or less) One shy, quiet kid + mandatory mermaid costume = Catastrophe or triumph?  Read on. 2. Can you describe your perfect party for me? (What are we celebrating? How many people are there? Where is it?) My perfect party is small and casual, with no occasion necessary.  It is filled with artists and philosophers and activists. Everyone has outrageous stories to tell.  There’s scintillating conversation, scrumptious food and drink and beautiful music. 3. What was the most fun part of writing We Are Party People? The best part of writing any novel is coming up with the initial idea and characters. Then, thinking about what could go wrong—and making it happen.  I like my characters to suffer!  Big-time nightmare scenarios are so much fun to read about.  Don’t you think? 4. Tell us something we didn’t… Read more »

{Review} The Fist Kiss Hypothesis by Christina Mandelski @fiction_chris @EntangledTeen

{Review} The Fist Kiss Hypothesis by Christina Mandelski @fiction_chris @EntangledTeen

The Fist Kiss Hypothesis by Christina Mandelski is a young adult standalone romance. I have started and stopped several young adult contemporary romances lately. I just haven’t been able to click with the characters or the plot…or something (I think because I have been on such a fantasy kick) but all of that changed the moment I picked up The Fist Kiss Hypothesis. I LOVED this novel. Like, really loved it. I loved the characters, I loved the romance, I loved the plot. All of it just worked for me. I could not stop smiling while reading The Fist Kiss Hypothesis, which is always a good sign. The Fist Kiss Hypothesis is the story of next door neighbors, and best friends, Nora and Eli. They have both had a crush on each other for a while, but Nora has totally written Eli off because he failed her The Fist Kiss Hypothesis. You see, Nora is a scientist and because her grandma said she knew right from the moment she met her grandpa… Read more »
