{Mini Review+Excerpt} BEING BROOKE by Emma Hart @EmmaHartAuthor

{Mini Review+Excerpt} BEING BROOKE by Emma Hart @EmmaHartAuthor

Being Brooke is a hilarious New Adult romantic comedy by Emma Hart. I loved this book. It completely cracked me up, and put me in a great mood. Brooke is hilarious. She is quite the character, and she can certainly dish it out…to everyone, including her best friend Cain. Unfortunately she can’t follow her own Life Tip #1, “Don’t fall in love with your best friend.” Which is great for me, because I happen to love best friends romances. And Being Brooke is probably the best romantic comedy I have read all year. It was certainly one of the funniest books I have read all year. If you like Romantic comedies you have to check this one out. Brooke totally cracked me up from the first page to the last page. I couldn’t get enough of her. I loved listening to her inner dialogues and I really loved her interactions with Cain. They were both hilarious and sweet. I am such a sucker for a friends turned romance story. It… Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} Trying Sophie by @Rebecca_Norinne

{Review+Giveaway} Trying Sophie by @Rebecca_Norinne

Trying Sophie is the first book in the adult contemporary sports romance, Dubline Rugby series by author Rebecca Norinne. I have never read any of Rebecca’s books, but I can’t pass up a book set in Dublin with Rugby players. One of my favorite sports romance series of all time features a rugby team (by L.H. Cosway & Penny Reid) so I couldn’t pass up the first book in a new rugby romance series. And I am super glad that I read Trying Sophie. This was a spicy and sweet sports romance that gave me all the feels and made me super happy while reading it. Trying Sophie is told in dual narrative between Sophie and Declan’s points of view. I loved this aspect of the story. I think it works extremely well in a contemporary romance because it gives you the opportunity to really get to know each character. I love seeing Declan’s motivations, backstory and feelings. I loved seeing Sophie’s too but I feel sometimes I like seeing… Read more »

{Review} Dead Girls Society by @MichelleKrys @RandomHouseKids

{Review} Dead Girls Society by @MichelleKrys @RandomHouseKids

Dead Girls Society is a young adult mystery/thriller from Michelle Krys. I cannot say enough good things about this book. It gave me all the feels, suspicions, and creeps. It is not often that a ookey spooky story with a secret society can also surprise me with its’ twists, turns and big surprises. I love it when I can’t figure out a whodunnit in a book! It doesn’t happen too often, but I am always super excited when it does happen. And it happened in Dead Girls Society, which in and of itself is enough to make me love it. Dead Girl Society follows a group of girls at a high school. Each of the girls gets a letter inviting them to play a game of dares. The prize promises to be something each of the girls desperately needs. Right away, I loved this take on a secret society. It wasn’t the traditional boarding school setting and it wasn’t the tradition hazing process. It was a single elimination challenge. every… Read more »

{Guest Post+Giveaway} Black Moon by @RominaRussell @RazorbillBooks

{Guest Post+Giveaway} Black Moon by @RominaRussell @RazorbillBooks

I love the Zodiac series so much, and I am super excited to celebrate the release of Black Moon. The Zodiac series takes place in a world where people are sorted into different houses of the Zodiac. I am going to share with you a pinterest board created and inspired by my house of the zodiac- the Libra. Here is what Romina had to say about the Libra House. Libra The Knights of Libra go to battle in uniforms made of interlocking golden armor plating that’s flexible enough to adapt to their movements. In addition to their ceremonial dagger, Knights carry a Brell, a shield-like device that defuses a situation by disbursing Bind: A wispy white powder made from ground-up minerals found deep within Kythera’s core—as soon as targets inhale the fine white mist, it seeps quickly into their muscular system, putting the body into a deep sleep. {Review} Hooked by @BrendaRothert @LovestruckEP

{Review} Hooked by @BrendaRothert @LovestruckEP

Hooked is an adult contemporary sports romance by author Brenda Rothert. I love a good sports romance but the tag line for this book is what hooked me in. 😉 “a sultry novel featuring a brooding NHL player who’s hell on skates—and the no-nonsense woman who forces him to clean up his act.” I love a good brooding male character and a no nonsense woman. Hooked was right up my alley for a good whipping into shape romance. I got such a kick out of Miranda and Jake. Jake needed a Miranda in his life badly. Hooked is the first book I have read by Brenda, but it certainly will not be the last. I really liked Hooked. Miranda made me snort, laugh out loud and chuckle non-stop throughout Hooked. I just loved her quick comebacks. She seemed to be the only one to knock Jake off his game. And he desperately needed that in his life. He was quick on his way to being a jerkwad, and we can’t… Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} Hit the Spot by J. Daniels @JDanielsbooks @ForeverRomance

Hit the Spot is the second book in the contemporary romance series, Dirty Deeds by author J. Daniels.I freakin’ loved Four Letter Word, the first book in the series. In fact, Four Letter Word easily makes my favorite books of 2016 list. Brian and Sydney are explosive and hilarious and fantastic together. So I knew that I needed, not wanted, NEEDED to read Hit the Spot when it came out. I loved Jamie from Four Letter Word. I loved how determined he was to win over Legs, I mean, Tori. Hit the Spot can be read as a standalone but I really recommend reading Four Letter Word first. I am so hooked on this series. J. Daniels is a new favorite author of mine, after reading just two of her books. She drew me into this story so much. She has a way of making a romance seem dirty and sweet at the same time. It is something you have to read to understand. She writes about fantastically flawed and… Read more »

{Review} I SEE YOU by Molly McAdams

{Review} I SEE YOU by Molly McAdams

I See you is a new adult standalone contemporary romance by Molly McAdams. I have not read any of Molly’s other books, but when I heard that she was the “queen of the love triangle” and that I See you was “… one of the most memorable love triangles in fiction since Twilight” I was super pumped. I knew I had to check it out. I really enjoy a good love triangle. And here is the thing- I really liked I See You. I thought the romance was beautiful and emotional and very, very moving. And I liked the love triangle….but it was not my favorite love triangle in the world. Don’t get me wrong though, overall, I See You was a very good read. The story is told in multiple points of view and multiple timelines. The story reverts back and forth between the present and a past event that helped to shape and form the love triangle. I didn’t mind the narration style at all. I found it… Read more »

{Release Day Review+Excerpt+Giveaway} Going Under by Lexi Ryan @writerlexiryan

{Release Day Review+Excerpt+Giveaway} Going Under by Lexi Ryan @writerlexiryan

Going Under is a new adult contemporary romance (with a college football player, main character- so maybe sports romance) and is the third book in the Blackhawk Boys series by Lexi Ryan. Going Under can be read as a standalone novel. I have not read the first two books in the series, but I am dying to now considering how much I adored this book. I completely fell in love with Going Under. I have been craving a true new adult college romance story for so long, but I haven’t found anything that quite fit the bill. But Going Under was perfect! I love the whole childhood friend’s brother aspect, I love a pseudo second chance romance and I love a good emotional backstory. I really enjoyed the dual narrative in Going Under, between Sebastian and Alex. I was itching to find out what happened to Alex with her scars, and why on earth Sebastian has kept his distance for this long. I knew from the start it couldn’t just… Read more »

{Review+Giveaway} Everything for Her by @_AlexaRiley @CarinaPress

{Review+Giveaway} Everything for Her by @_AlexaRiley @CarinaPress

Everything For Her is the first book in the adult romance, For Her series by Alexa Riley. Alexa Riley is a romance author duo that I am completely loving! Everything for Her is perfect for fans of swoony romances with a side of tasteful cheese. If you are not a fan of overly romantic and a bit cheesy romances, you might find Everything for Her a bit too sweet. I didn’t. I really enjoyed this book. I thought Oz was swoony in all the right ways. I can’t wait to see what Alexa Riley has in store for us next. Everything for Her is told in dual narrative between Oz and Mallory. It is really interesting because right off the bat Oz is quite taken with Mallory. Some might even say he is obsessed with her. And I have to say, he wears obsession well. Very well. (which is not something I would say about most people.) There is a case of Insta-love in Everything for Her but I… Read more »
